I asked Cynthia of Twig and Vine design if she would be interested in helping me sort out the overgrown garden and discuss its potential. I know that gardens require patience and observation, but I needed to get started on the back. Boy, did Cynthia deliver. Her drawing, which was measured and planted perfectly, gave me the perfect vision for the plan. Her choice of plants was spot on, and she "rearranged the furniture" by finding places for the existing plants that were healthy. I love her spontaneity and the way she works with the team at Red Maple. Those gentleman are friendly, hardworking and loyal to Cynthia because she is very clear about what she wants. They KNOW how to plant even mature trees, and how to move existing plant material so it survives in its new spot. I wish they were my weekly garden caretakers. My neighbors were so delighted by the transformation. They asked for Cynthia's card. This Spring we tackled the front of the house. With Cynthia's encouragement we trimmed and pruned and observed last summer, fall and winter...and the bones of the garden began to appear. With Cynthia's help this year we have the next step completed...adding privacy and some outstanding tree specimens, including a Serviceberry column, an Acer Griseum and a stewartia. I look forward to our final act together as we replace walkways and steps, knowing her skillful, trained eye will put the final touch on that. If you love to garden, you love nature, you have a profound respect for the green in your life, then Twig and Vine owner Cynthia is the woman for you. As for the reviewer who had trouble with her work style, Mother Nature is our guide...things aren't available, it pours for weeks, plants get rejected for quality and there aren't anymore, and flexibility is necessary.

Even after we had some of the trees pruned, grass was still out of the question. Ugh. Shortly before contacting Twig and Vine, we put in a herringbone, paver patio back there. We wanted to frame it with a jewel garden. Cynthia came over very promptly after a phone call, surveyed the area, understood our limited budget and got straight to work. It was a great appointment - she was easy to talk to, welcomed our ideas and explained which plants worked and where they didn't on our property. When she returned, she had a couple of ideas estimated out within budget. A couple weeks later, we had a young, beautiful jewel box garden with a gorgeous silver birch tree, leafy hostas, feathery astilbes, lime colored grasses and mini hot pink roses, to name a few, hugging our patio complete with privacy trellis that would soon have hydrangeas climbing all over it. We LOVE it. Everyone who ventures into the backyard is delightfully surprised and ooh and ahh over our secluded, 'secret garden'. The kids have the yard - we have this. With a fridge in the garage, string lights and the addition of a fire pit, its perfect. This lady knows what she is doing! P.S. Came home from work one day to find a large section of my retaining wall tumbled over into my…read moreneighbor's yard. The wall was originally built by the builder before we moved in mid 2004. The wall started to lean slightly within 5 years as it was not built with drainage in mind. This time around, I wanted the retaining wall build the right way. I called Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping to get an estimate because I prefer someone local and was pleased with their online reviews. Carlos arrived as scheduled to write up the estimate. He immediately suggested re-using the blocks since they seemed to be in decent condition and would save money. I met with another company the day prior and was originally planning on getting a 3rd estimate. After getting Carlos' very reasonable estimate and asking a few question regarding timeline, I approved the estimate and was ready to move forward. Just 3 days later, the work started and was finished just 4 days later with a Sunday and a rainy Monday that was a wash out. I was so pleased since this has been on my todo list for the last several years and relieved to have it done correctly. My neighbor was also pleased to get part of his yard back. I highly recommend Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping for any outdoor project. You won't be disappointed. I plan on calling Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping again in a couple of years for driveway and walkway pavers.

Carlos and his team did a great job installing a drainage system (and connect the gutters to them) to alleviate the problem and were able to do it quickly at a very reasonable rate. He was very knowledgeable about gardening and the life spans of all of the flowers and plants. He encouraged me to make lovely pots at home. What a clever salesman. The prices were reasonable which also encouraged me to buy more. The cashier and office staff were also very cordial. This seems to be a well ran family business (I don't know, just guessing). I come here often for two reasons: customer service and fair prices. A great local business that proved to me a rose can grown from concrete.

The service is always great. They have a good variety of flowers and plants....i buy mums in the fall so they have a huge variety. During the fall they have hay bales and corn stalks which are also reasonably priced. They have plenty of pumpkins and yard decorations as well. Bringing items to your car is easy because they provide wagons to cart your purchases around in as you shop. They also provide rope if you need to tie something to the roof of your truck. The plants I have bought always last the fall and are in good shape. There is always help available if you need. Great nursery.

Todd Brewer is intuitive about how to best use your space, and over the years has helped us to both create and move various gardens, shrubs, and trees. Most recently, we dismantled a front yard garden which developed secondary to having a magnolia tree which was providing too much shade for grass to grow. After 30 years of maintaining this garden, we decided to remove the magnolia tree and relocate the many plant materials including 6 hydrangea bushes and a beloved lilac bush, and sod that area. Todd was able to do this without harming a single plant, graded and sodded the area perfectly, and replanted the lilac bush to its new location within an existing (and fairly crowded) garden in the back yard, with enough of a root ball that it it didn't lose a leaf. He has also hand-trimmed the 20 arbor vitae running the length of the back yard and provided mulching and other services through the years. We found ECM through our neighbors who also still use this company - and we're very pleased with Todd's work and appreciate his expertise.

The communication between my acceptance of the proposal and planting day was excellent (very important to me since my schedule is busy) - there was an unavoidable delay which she promptly let me know about and she provided a new installation day. The workers she brought were very polite, hard working and did high quality work.
