These magnificent Irises come in a variety of colors. People of all ages come to see these magnificent irises. I have observed people sketch, paint and photographing the irises. While others leisurely stroll along the pathway admiring these breath taking flowers. During my recent visit, I noticed new benches in the gardens. These benches are a wonderful addition to the gardens. Like to say, thank you to all the volunteers and others who have helped make these gardens spectacular. The suggested donation is eight dollars. Street parking appears to be only available. Definitely put "The Presby Iris Gardens" on your "to do list" for mid May and early June.

It's likely we contacted at least 30 landscapers/designers for this project, most of whom did not bother to respond. The ones that did respond seemed to be unable to maintain basic professionalism/communication by either not showing up for a scheduled consultation, failing to send a quote/design, or simply disappearing altogether. There's no better way to put this, but, quite frankly, they were all...well, imbeciles. When we found Cynthia, she gave us her word that she would be responsive and work with us to create a front-yard landscape we could enjoy for many years to come. Not everything went as planned, and we ended up pushing back on a major component of her recommended design midway through the process. However, she was able to take our pivot in stride and come up with something that we are truly happy with. Her team at Red Maple were also a joy to work with and did their jobs with diligence and respect for our home. After nearly two years of being completely depressed at the sight of our unsightly landscape, it's wonderful to have that lifted. I asked Cynthia of Twig and Vine design if she would be interested in helping me sort out the overgrown garden and discuss its potential. I know that gardens require patience and observation, but I needed to get started on the back. Boy, did Cynthia deliver. Her drawing, which was measured and planted perfectly, gave me the perfect vision for the plan. Her choice of plants was spot on, and she "rearranged the furniture" by finding places for the existing plants that were healthy. I love her spontaneity and the way she works with the team at Red Maple. Those gentleman are friendly, hardworking and loyal to Cynthia because she is very clear about what she wants. They KNOW how to plant even mature trees, and how to move existing plant material so it survives in its new spot. I wish they were my weekly garden caretakers. My neighbors were so delighted by the transformation. They asked for Cynthia's card. This Spring we tackled the front of the house. With Cynthia's encouragement we trimmed and pruned and observed last summer, fall and winter...and the bones of the garden began to appear. With Cynthia's help this year we have the next step completed...adding privacy and some outstanding tree specimens, including a Serviceberry column, an Acer Griseum and a stewartia. I look forward to our final act together as we replace walkways and steps, knowing her skillful, trained eye will put the final touch on that. If you love to garden, you love nature, you have a profound respect for the green in your life, then Twig and Vine owner Cynthia is the woman for you. The Brookside Garden Center & Florist shop is my go to flower and plant shop! Unfortunately the…read moreparking isn't the best since it's on the corner of a busy intersection but it's right around the corner from my house so I usually walk there anyway. They're affordable, have plants and products that I've been looking for, and even have ones that I've never seen before. I stopped in on Valentine's Day and left with two gorgeous, unique bouquets around $20 each and a healthy succulent with a pot for $11. (Got one bouquet for my boss and one for my mother, both loved them!) The staff was great and the selection was huge considering it was the day of! I picked up a few pre made bouquets from here before that were about $10 and were also great quality for the price. Today I stopped in on my way home just to see what they had, I was greeted kindly by a man who was out on the floor. I was drawn straight to the gorgeous succulents on the middle table, ended up picking up two potted succulents, and grabbed two small plants by the register right before I checked out. The woman who rung me up was very nice and they packaged up my plants very carefully and securely so nothing fell over or broke while I walked home with them. It was such a steal to get all 4 of these plants for only $36, I'll most definitely be coming back next week to check the selection and recommend this shop for anyone in the Bloomfield/Montclair/Glen Ridge area looking for some affordable, unique plants and flowers! Edit: I'm adding to this review because of another amazing experience I had here. I ordered a flower bouquet from a different florist and paid $45 for what looked like an empty, $20 bouquet and had it delivered a day late. I came here to the brookside garden center to ask for help on how to fill up the bouquet and make it look better. Nicky helped me choose some tulips and baby's breaths for only $10, I was able to fill in the flower arrangement myself, and now it looks great thanks to this place!

The service is always great. They have a good variety of flowers and plants....i buy mums in the fall so they have a huge variety. During the fall they have hay bales and corn stalks which are also reasonably priced. They have plenty of pumpkins and yard decorations as well. Bringing items to your car is easy because they provide wagons to cart your purchases around in as you shop. They also provide rope if you need to tie something to the roof of your truck. The plants I have bought always last the fall and are in good shape. There is always help available if you need. Great nursery.

Todd Brewer is intuitive about how to best use your space, and over the years has helped us to both create and move various gardens, shrubs, and trees. Most recently, we dismantled a front yard garden which developed secondary to having a magnolia tree which was providing too much shade for grass to grow. After 30 years of maintaining this garden, we decided to remove the magnolia tree and relocate the many plant materials including 6 hydrangea bushes and a beloved lilac bush, and sod that area. Todd was able to do this without harming a single plant, graded and sodded the area perfectly, and replanted the lilac bush to its new location within an existing (and fairly crowded) garden in the back yard, with enough of a root ball that it it didn't lose a leaf. He has also hand-trimmed the 20 arbor vitae running the length of the back yard and provided mulching and other services through the years. We found ECM through our neighbors who also still use this company - and we're very pleased with Todd's work and appreciate his expertise.
