Gordon water billing department shows the kind of compassion usually we can only hope to find. We have been customers of Gordon Water for many years. Any service related issue we experienced in the past they always took care of in a timely manner. Recently due to unforeseen issues we struggled to properly uphold our end of the rental agreement. Our R/O system lost pressure for some reason. Had a tech come out and check the system, told us he needed to take the system with him to test it, should only take a couple days. Called Gordon end of the first week and was told, "I'll have service get back with you". This happened 3 more times without returns. End of the second week was told, "it's being tested"...still. Nearly 3 weeks and $300.00 the system gets reinstalled and was told it was a faulty valve spring...for $300.00!? No estimate, no recept other than a hand written note of the total charge. Next day, back to no pressure in the system. Call Gordon and explained the issue, different tech comes out and tests the water and says its bad, the water is bad...didn't say a word about the pressure, the reason for him to come out. He was unable to answer why "out water was bad, coming thru a system they just fixed. As the tech was leaving, we get a sales pitch on newer models, one of which is the same system we now have. No apologies for the $300.00 loss, no let's see what we can do...nothing! Thievery and fraud! read more

Tom Thome at Gordon Water services was very courteous and knowledgeable upon our installation. He took the time to explain the process of our new system. He installed our softener in a reasonable time and was easy to talk to. He has already scheduled a follow up inspection to make sure everything is in working order. My experience with Gordon Water Service in Portage has been 90% horrible. Their employees in their store there have NO customer service skills. We've been buying our bottled water there for the last four years. Most store employees do not offer to help load the bottles into your car. My wife had this experience after having knee replacement surgery, and had to struggle to load the water. My biggest issue with them is the store employees who fail to thank you, smile or even seem to care if you're a customer. Last week I was in there and made a purchase, the clerk threw my loyalty card across the counter to me after he scanned it, and most certainly failed to thank me for my business. If this kid was my employee, he'd be out the door. This is the norm that I have experienced over the past four years. Apparently Gordon Water doesn't train their store clerks in basic customer service skills, such as acknowledging the customer and thanking them for their loyalty and purchases. So I'll drive to Battle Creek and go back with Besco Water Service, which we had for 20 years when we lived in Plainwell. read more

I have to say our experience with Gordon Water has been fantastic . As a neighbor to the Kent County Airport that uses a well we had some concerns about our water quality . We contacted Gordon and made an appointment to have our Water tested , not only for Pfas but also a full organic test as well . Phoebe was the technician that took our sample . Due to a timing issue she tried to change our appointment but when she couldn't reach me ( phone off ) she drove to our house to let us know and came back later as promised . Henry L called to talk about our results . He was very informative and patient as we learned about our findings . As a result of our tests and the information Henry gave us we invited him over and he spent a considerable amount of time both reviewing our results and discussing solutions . We agreed to a system and Tom T came today to install it . As with our other encounters with Gordon Water , Tom was very professional and did an excellent job on the installation . Having an older house that has been remodeled this was not an easy task but he was very good at making the 3 line hookup . We now have a water system in place that we feel confident in . I am very confident in recommending Gordon Water in Grand Rapids . read more

Our initial interaction with Gordon Water Systems has been fantastic. Ben was very informational, punctual and professional when he came into our home to test our water. He ran several tests while taking the time to explain what he was doing as well as what the results were. He also left me with numerous options to discuss and choose from with my husband. He offered many pricing options to fit most budgets and throughly explained each option. First, let me describe my situation. I purchased a water softener from Gordon August 22, 2016. My chief concern was the iron content of our water. The water softener we were using was over 25 years old and no longer doing the job. The Gordon sales representative, Andy, told me I was purchasing a quality softener. He assured me that the Kinetico 935 was among the best out there, and that it would meet all our needs. It was installed a few days later. The installer was a nice guy. He said he had two years experience so he knew what he was doing. At first, the softener seemed to work well. Our water was soft and there was no evidence of iron. Gradually though, things went downhill. On Sept. 13, 2016, my wife showed me the clothes she'd washed that day. Everything was stained with iron including my new blue polo shirt! At least $100 of clothing was ruined. I went to the Gordon office on 54th St. with my concerns. I was very upset. In fact, I was past upset, I was angry. I had paid $2500 for this water softener. I have to say that the Gordon Representative at the office was very sympathetic and understanding. He promised a service man would be out the next day and he kept his word. The service person, Tom, arrived shortly after noon on Sept. 15. I explained the situation and took him to the newly installed softener. He looked the situation over and found the problem almost right away. The pipes were switched by the installer! The pipe going into the softener should have been going out and vise versa. Tom spent several hours switching things around and then stayed to retest the water after the softener had recycled to make sure it was working as it should. The reason I give Gordon five stars totally relates to Tom. This man is super competent. The installer, nice guy that he is, needs to check his work over more carefully. Thank goodness Gordon has an employee like Tom to make things right! read more
