I became a patient of Dr. Gordon's a year ago after I had gotten COVID and still had trouble breathing two months afterwards. I'm asthmatic and needed to see a new pulmonologist. Dr. Gordon performed the most thorough exam I have ever had as a new patient. He gave me samples of inhalers so I wouldn't have to pay for the pricey prescriptions. He calls me to follow up after my visits. His staff is always kind and efficient. I overheard him calling another doctor to get his patient in that day because she lived an hour away and he didn't want her driving back and forth. He is a great doctor, but also a good man. I recently started seeing Dr. Gordon and I was extremely impressed with him and his staff. My appointment started on time and the intake process was the best I've ever experienced. Dr. Gordon was thorough, patient and engaged. He asked the right questions and gave thorough, thoughtful answers. I felt like he was listening and paying attention. My lab results came back quickly and he personally delivered them. Their office is a very busy one, I don't think he is taking any new patients that where not refereed through a doctor he knows. A nice and friendly doctor when the patient is generally healthy. A rude and uncaring front office, always kept us waiting for up to an hour. But...when the going gets tough, when a hard conversation is required, a terminal diagnosis is determined, or when the patient is actively dying, forget it. Happy talk is his specialty. When it's no longer happy, he is not a patient communicator, advocate, or support. Even dying patients (terminal lung cancer, stage 4, patients hooked up to machines with brains riddled with cancer) will not be referred to hospice because he believes it will "kill them". Both my husband and friend were left to a painful death and the family was without support. read more

Haven't experience any care services from Dr. Gordon, but speaking to his receptionist or whomever is handling customer service, my impression is that these people do not care. I called to see if they take United Healthcare which is the new insurance provider for our family, and the woman on the phone was rude in answering my questions. Given that my boyfriend is an existing patient, we were hoping to keep continuity of care. Instead all I got was a response that it was not taken and it was obvious that they just wanted me off the phone period. Usually, a lot of doctor offices will recommend someone else who might be in network. read more

I have been to Dr. Gordon's office once since my last review. Things seemed to move much more smoothly, the office staff was nice, and I was in and out in a fair amount of time so I needed to update the review. Dr. Gordon himself I would say is at the top of his game as a Dr. (Which is why I've stuck out some office changes) and has been the whole fifteen years he has been my Dr. Also, Dr. Gordon returns patients phone calls very quickly or another Dr. on call gets back to you in a quick amount of time which is another reason I choose to stay with Dr. Gordon as my Pulm. specialist. read more

Dr. Gordon is an awesome doctor. I live and work about 45 minutes away from his office and I refuse to change doctors. He is very thorough and when he has to tell you something that might be a sore subject or an uncomfortable topic (like weight or something), he says it in such a kind and gentle way that you really feel like he is coming from the heart. The only con that I can say is that when I have an emergency (like a cold on a Friday), I can never be fit in for a visit and I have to go through the weekend without antibiotics or anything else I might need. Having said that, I did have an instance where I was at the hospital and was instructed to see the doctor the next day and when I called Dr. Gordon I was fit in right away. I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Gordon's office staff but I have never had a good one either. It feels like they are kind of indifferent to me as a patient, but I'm not there to see them anyway. Dr. Gordon does have one nurse, Jewel, and she is just the sweetest. read more

Dr. Gordon has the rudest staff I have ever encountered! I called to make an appointment for my sick sister who was so weak that she could not even make the call. I just wanted to know his availability, and the first question the receptionist asks is who referred you. I told her that another doctor referred us and she puts me on hold for 7 minutes. She comes back and asks what the doctors first name who referred us is, i told her I don't know so she puts me on hold for another 5 minutes. Comes back and asks my sisters name and I explained to her again that just wanted to know if the doctor is available today. She puts me on hold and after another 5 minutes this older lady picks up the phone and asks me if I have been helped yet. I told her that I just wanted to know Dr. Gordon's availability for today and she starts asking me again who referred us, I explained it to her and then she asks me what my sister's symptoms are. I told her that she is sick, her body aches, and her head feels so heavy that she cannot even lift it and she says that is not enough. How else do you explain a cold? She says thats not enough and my sister should call because Dr. Gordon is not in today. How difficult would it have been to just tell me from the start that he is not in today? Dr. Gordon, if you are reading this you should retrain your staff on proper phone etiquit. I have been working in the medical field for the past 6 years and have many encounters with doctors offices but none have ever been as rude and disrespectful as todays. read more

Dr. Gordon is the most thorough, warm, patient and understanding doctor. He truly goes above and beyond for his patients. He truly cares. Doctors like Dr. Gordon are rare and very hard to come by. He is truly a gift to to his patients. I consider myself extremely lucky and blessed to be under his care. I can only hope that others are able to benefit from his compassionate expertise. My father was a patient of Martin Gordon, M.D as was my mother for more than 20 years, My father continued to see him after mother passed. Then, one afternoon my father had to be taken to CS and I called the doctor's office to let Dr. Gordon know my father was in the hospital so he could go see him. I was told he was on vacation, so I asked who was covering his patients and I was told by his rude, crude and socially unacceptable assistant that no one was going to see my father in the hospital. He was dumped like some piece of trash after all those years. My father ended up being misdiagnosed and got extremely poor care from some hospital doctors. He was put in rehab for sciatic nerve pain when in reality he had a rare condition that was later diagnosed in Idaho where I had him med flighted to in order to live with me. His condition is that his stomach moved through a hiatal hernia, up through the diaphragm and into his chest and is twisted. An x-ray would have shown this and even that wasn't done. At the age of 96, there is no way they could operate. Moreover, Dr. Gordon had been overdosing my father with Coumadin for years saying if he stopped taking it, he would die. Well, they took him off that and he's been just fine, except for his stomach condition, no stroke or heart attack and he's now 97. Still pretty sharp, but physically not too well as can be imagined. As far as I'm concerned, Gordon has no right to be treating anyone for anything other than his primary specialty....the lungs. As for his ethics, they suck. How do you dump a patient like that after so many years of trust??? Do they just hate the elderly or the children that know they are not being treated properly? He also had no right to prescribe Coumadin as he is not a cardiologist or a neurologist and obviously knows nothing more than what his ego allows. I told him when I was there that he was taking too much Coumadin because it was causing his eyes to bleed and he had other complications from it. But, Gordon told me to stay off the computer. I guess I should be happy they dumped my dad, as now he doesn't have to worry about Coumadin overdose and side effects now. This doctor prescribes Coumadin for all his patience, even my mother who never had a heart or brain problem. Watch out for this one. read more
