Dr. Ahn takes time with patients. He draws blood himself when needed and the office is terrific about following up.

Best doctor in Los Angeles!! Incredible staff! Truly, this office is a gem. Wonderful experience!

Absolute legend, amazing doctor. Best doctor I have ever had. I can't put into words how much I love Dr Ahn.

Thomas G. Ahn is the most amazing and caring doctor that you could ever ask for 100%. Dr. Ahn is "Very Diligent, Diligence is one of the seven heavenly virtues. A knowledgeable professional & great work ethic. I visited Dr, Ahn I was in so much pain, Dr. Ahn went out of his way to help me with a shot to get me out of pain. Dr. Ahn has been my doctor for 32 years! He is the best, and has treated me for everything from the flu to issues I have with Chrons. He has always returned calls and been there when I was in the hospital over the years for appendicitis, and other surgeries. He takes his time with each patient and answers any and all concerns. I have referred many family members and friends over the years and they all really like him as their doctor as well. My only issue is sometimes talking and getting past his current receptionist is like talking to a brick wall. She comes off cold, uncaring and at times has a real attitude, which is the last thing you need to deal with when you are not feeling well, but don't let that stop you from seeing Dr. Ahn because he is a great doctor! read more

I feel so blessed that Dr Ahn , Marisal and Alma are in my life. They are the hardest working professionals I've ever had the pleasure to be treated by. Dr Ahn can be very serious when he is focusing on YOUR HEALTH so don't expect a fake happy persona . Dr Ahn will give you as much time as your ailment or diagnosis warrants. In that same realm, Marisal will bend over backwards to help accommodate your schedule... unless you are abusing their time and making excuses for being late, or constantly cancelling, in which case, that's on you if your over 21 yrs old and can't figure out LA traffic by now. ( yes I read a few strangely bitter reviews on here. this isn't a restaurant where one can expect elite reservations. everyone's just doing the best they can for many other patients ) I drive from CALABASSAS, and I intentionally leave 2 hours early. Ive been fortunate enough to have these people see me through some extremely frightening health scares. One medical issue was discovered by Dr Ahn and it saved my life and my body part. I am so grateful. I have also been a fly on the wall where snippy people come in and start demanding to be pushed to the front of the schedule. There is just no room for that kind of entitlement when these people save lives ...so you might want to leave you attitude at the door and help them help you help yourself. In other words, don't start off negatively or rushed. These are serious ... busy... highly educated people here. Grace... honor it. read more

Dr. Ahn is an amazing doctor. He is thorough, and connects the dots of things in a holistic kind of way, where you can just watch him thinking and putting puzzle pieces together. He consistently impresses me with the depth of his knowledge - both about current trends, and historical body of knowledge. He inspires in my great confidence in his opinions and diagnostics, and is thoughtful in his questions and discussion with me as his patient, always explaining everything so that I fully understand it. I feel like I'm in great hands with him, and trust him implicitly. He's sometimes quiet in his approach, which some new patients may not understand at first, but when he opens his mouth, it's so clear that he has been in deep thought, and considering all options. I highly, highly recommend him. read more

I've been on the road for 2 hrs left a message the first time since they were not open yet, called a second time to notify I was going to be late and was informed to reschedule after I was 90% there. This is a ridiculous office no wonder they have a 3.5 rating. avoid at all costs. Blamed for accidents on the fwy for not having made it on time plus receptionist needs an attitude adjustment big time. Did I mention worst first impression as a doctor? So how was Dr. Ahn as a doctor I will never know, and will not go back. What a horrible experience. read more

I went to Dr. Ahn because I have been told to see an endocrinologist by a couple of doctors (including family members who are physicians). There is definitely something wrong with me. I told him I was on a strict diet and get exercise but not losing weight. I wouldn't be there if I wasn't and I am really, truly frustrated. His response was to mock me and told me to go on a diet in condescending tone. He took a few vials of blood, though I told him I have already had the tests he wanted to take done. I am giving this review because this is actually what happened, not because I didn't get the response I wanted to hear. I had dismissed some of the negative reviews because there are always a few people out there that write a negative review for petty reasons or misunderstandings. I must say that a couple of them were correct in their reviews. read more

Dr. Ahn is one of the most thorough, thoughtful, intelligent and caring physicians I have ever met. I went to him for the first time last week and the fact that he is taking care of me has given me peace of mind. Instead of having patients fill out a medical history, Dr. Ahn welcomed me into his office and invited me to tell him about myself as he asked questions and took notes on his computer. I really appreciated that. He was completely present with me (no glancing at a cell phone or at a watch which can make a person feel that they are interrupting the doctor's work rather than that their care IS the doctor's work!). Dr. Ahn listened carefully to me, gave me a thorough exam, discussed my issues with sensitivity and compassion and drew my blood himself for the testing while he talked with me. He told me he would call with my results and asked me to call him if I found out anything more about my condition before then. I left knowing that I had found a physician who will follow me through instead of bouncing me to another physician because it is not clear as to what to do with me. Dr. Ahn has a rare humility. I left his office feeling that I had found a gem, a doctor who takes the time to think things through and is truly committed to helping and caring for his patients. Thank you, Dr. Ahn, I am fortunate to have you as my physician! read more

I am reading these other reviews and I think they are totally misinterpreting Dr. Ahn. I have seen him for years and I think that people are thinking his casualness and him being aloof as his cold bedside manner. It is simple, if you have questions for your Doctor, you need to ask. He is quick, simple and to the point. He will give you straight answers and yes, he will even give you prescriptions over the phone. I have seen him several times and afterwards I was like, "that was it?" then when I really thought about it...that's all it should be. He checked me out, gave me my answers and a nice "see you next time." If you want a Doctor to be 2 hours late, give you all the small talk you want then yes, this is not the Doctor for you. If you want to be in and out, get good referrals and have a simple and honest answer than this is your guy. Dr. Ahn is well respected in his profession, ask you new Doctor and they will tell you. read more

These people below shock me with their reviews. Dr. Ahn is softspoken and thoughtful. He listens very carefully and asks very specific questions. He might not give you the 'warm fuzzies' but he's not cold at all. He's simply thinking about what you are saying rather than trying to be your best pal. I always have a good experience when I go and he has a really nice office staff as well. I had a pretty serious illness and it was very reassuring to have Dr. Ahn carefully weighing the options for my treatment. I always felt like he really wanted the best for me. He's smart, capable and cautious. These are the qualities that should really matter when choosing a physician. read more

I totally understand what the bad reviewers are saying. I'm not sure what really happened there, I'm sure there are two sides, but I would be upset if those things happened too. For me though Dr. Ahn has helped me so many times with care and concern and humor. There was even a time I had no insurance or money and he gave me samples to help me. I find him very generous and kind. He absolutely shows interest in me as a person, and even remembered me after me not having been there for 2-3 years. Ive been to so many doctors in my life, as I have allergies and often end up with respiratory infections as a result. And I definitely met way colder. Maybe it's just about how different people interact differently with each other. As for the patient who said she had went for years then really needed his help and he took calls, that sounds pretty bad, I would be upset too. But we also all have the right, freedom and responsibility as patients to speak up for ourselves and make it clear what we aren't comfortable with. I find Dr. Ahn very considerate as a person on the whole, and maybe he was having a bad day. I would have just asked him to please not take calls. I think he would have understood. But who knows. read more

Dr. Ahn is professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. I do not understand the negative reviews I see here, since I have received nothing but the best of care and attention when it was warranted. He was able to file the correct paperwork for me to get a continuous glucose monitor and follows up to see how I'm doing. I'm a PanCan patient, so have extremely odd blood work, and he understands my condition and has been excellent. read more

Marisol, the receptionist, was wonderful! She was able to get me an appointment within 1 day and I was able to see Dr. Ahn right away. Dr. Ahn was great and I am happy to be one of his new patient's. I can hardly believe anything bad about this doctor. He was my doctor for about 10 years and I have not been able to find a doctor to replace him. I now live out of state and continued to call him due to his expertise as an endocrinologist. I have called his office very upset about things/misinterpretations by doctors here and he has called me back on his own dime to clear things up. He was my P C P as well as my endocrinologist. I always found him professional, caring, and to the point. I have not been able to find another doctor to replace him in quality of care. I can't say enough good things about him. read more

I read the positive reviews on Yelp about Dr. Ahn and so I made an appointment with him because I seemed to be having a number of symptoms of hypothyroidism. I had a baby 5 months ago, but I have felt that something was wrong with my body--I cannot lose one pound (I'm still 25 pounds heavier than when I got pregnant) no matter how hard I exercise or how carefully I eat, which is extremely abnormal for me. I also am experiencing severely diminished brain function. Thyroid conditions run in my family, so I suspected that this was my case as well (I also have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis so there's that). I also have severe joint pain and a number of other symptoms that I won't disclose here. I met with Dr. Ahn and told him my symptoms and concerns. Without asking me one question about my diet, he basically told me that I was eating too much and that my thyroid is not the problem. It was humiliating to basically be called a pig. I have an extensive background in health and fitness, and so, trust me, my diet is impeccable. My impression is that Dr. Ahn looked at me and because I am not morbidly obese, he formed an incorrect assumption about me--namely that I am vain and just want to lose weight and so I'm blaming my thyroid. He actually said, "A lot of women in LA want to lose weight." I told him that the weight loss was not my main concern and that the other symptoms were more worrisome, but he was disinclined to humor me even though he felt my thyroid and pronounced it nearly twice as large as it should be. I saw a different and more prominent endocrinologist last week who ran some basic blood tests. It turns out that my TSH level is 34! The norm is between 3 and 5. The higher the number, the more hypo you are. In other words, 34 is crazy high, and my current endocrinologist asked me to start medication today and not wait another day because my numbers are really, really bad. I can't recommend going to Dr. Ahn for anything. It looks like some people have had positive experiences with him, but mine was not. In fact, his lack of concern for the problems I voiced could have caused me harm. All he had to do was give me a blood test, but instead he implicitly mocked my concerns about my own body. If you are concerned about hypothyroidism, avoid Dr. Ahn and look for a doctor who will listen to your concerns and take the time to ask you the questions that matter so that he can properly assess your condition. read more

Where do I begin? Dr. Ahn is a very cold doctor. He doesn't explain anything and sometimes appear to be annoyed by your questions. After taking your blood, he walks out of the office and doesn't even ask you if you have any questions or concerns. You have to be quick to ask all your questions while he is taking your blood, otherwise, zip and he's gone. The one time I finally managed to ask a few questions, he dismissed all of my concerns. Made me feel like an idiot. I'm sorry I wasted my money on his office and wished I had looked for a new doctor right away. read more

I never thought I would write a negative review about a physician as my experiences with M.D.'s have generally been superb. I was referred to Dr Ahn for a pre-operative physical examination. I have never seen a doctor as cold or as unfeeling as Dr. Ahn. His bedside manner is appalling. He showed no interest in me as a person. He was much more interested in filling in the blanks on this computer when asking me about my medical history. Avoid this physician! read more

Dr. Ahn was my doctor for years. I always thought of him as a pretty good doctor that was always able to fit me in and even better was his willingness to call a prescription in for me without always having to see me. What I realized once I was actually sick and needed some real attention is that he has none to give. His bedside manner is not the best and he lacks any real sympathy. He took multiple personal calls during my appt and even got into an argument with his significant other during mid exam and once in the middle he left the room to talk to his auto body guy. Nothing is more soothing than being basically naked and having your doctor keep taking his cell phone calls. I was really disappointed that after years of having him as my doctor that the one time I really needed him to be my doctor he failed. I won't be going back. read more

Dr. Ahn is kind, attentive and efficient. Beyond diagnosing my primary issue, Dr. Ahn asked questions about my overall health during my first visit, and remembered to follow up on something I'd mentioned at my second appointment over 2 months later. Waiting room waits are minimal, appointments are quick but not rushed, and he personally called to check in on me in between visits. Would highly recommend to friends and family. read more

Dr. Ahn has been my doctor for 25 years, since I was 18. He has always been one of the best doctors that has taken care of me. I have seen him for just about everything from routine yearly exams, when I have been sick, and been there through every surgery that I have ever gone through. He has never let me down. I have called on the day I am feeling sick and he has always taken me in that same day. He has always been generous in giving you samples of medication to cut down on your prescription cost. And in 25 years I can call his service with an emergency and Dr. Ahn has returned my calls within 30 minutes or less to assist me. In 25 years I have not one bad thing to say, and am surprised by those who do. read more

Wow, people either really love Dr. Ahn or are really dissatisfied with him. Well, I'm one the people that really love him! My longtime family doctor decided to pack up and go on an indefinite medical missionary leave to India so my husband and I were forced to find a new doctor. While looking for a new doctor is one of my least favorite tasks, I'm so relieved to have found Dr. Ahn. He asked all the questions before I could tell him my concerns, making my job as a patient so much easier. When he called back with test results, actually called himself, he went over everything and answered all my questions. My husband and I hope that Dr. Ahn doesn't decide to retire anytime soon because we would be very unhappy campers. read more

One of the most rude and aggressive receptionists I think I have ever had to deal with. Yikes.

Three generations in my family have seen Dr Ahn. I have been 100% satisfied with his care. He takes more time than most doctors and spends the time to answers every question that I have had. When my grandmother was in the hospital he did an excellent job coordinating all the care. I often read reviews about Doctors and when people write negative reviews they tend to be because people did not get the answer they wanted to hear. It has nothing to do with the quality of the Dr. read more

Thomas Ahn denied I had a thytoid problem after running incomplete tests. I had all my medical records sent to me and give to him. At that time I discovered a note in my file saying I have hashimtotis. I also went to a throat doctor and had an ultra sound done. The untrasound showed my thyroid was swollen and I had thyroid nodules. After Ahn recieved my records he changed his diagnosis but I was furious. He did not offer medication or indicate what I should do next. He just commented on my background in the arts in a kind of disdainful way. We women deserve to be healthy and whole. I want to look pretty and not lose my hair. I want to love myself. Well it is hard to do if your doctors do not tell you what is wrong or what to do about it. This haopened in 2014. I have had a thyroid disease since 2008 on record but my levels were also off in 2005 when i had Breast cancer. Our doctors are failing women. read more

Dr, Ahn is not your ideal doctor, He will not explain to you what his plan is for your care. He is not professional at all, he did my breast and rectal exam without asking my permission and without a chaperon being in the room. He didn't wear a glove to do the breast exam. I told him before hand that I had my mammogram and colonoscopy therefore I'm not sure how doing those things would change the management. I felt my privacy has been invaded. I'm not going to accuse him of sexual abuse but at least he's practicing bad medicine. I never go back to his office again and never recommend him to anyone. read more
