This is one of the best ice cream places I have every been ANYWHERE. Their ice cream is soo yummy, especially on the hot days in the middle of summer in Sun River. The biggest complaint I have is that sometimes it can be crowded, with no seats, and long lines - but the wait is worth it. How do you run out of waffle cones on a Saturday? The Ice cream is nothing special. Beware of the strawberry because it tastes terrible. I could not eat it. While the ice cream and sorbet is amazing, like 5 stars, the Manager was loud, rude and lacked customer service skills and needs a new line of work. We arrived 4 minutes before closing for a scoop to go. She had already locked one door, but we were able to go in the front door. We learned it was because someone exited and it had already also been locked early. She hollered, in a harsh tone to everyone that she was closing and locking the doors and if anyone needed to exit, they must turn the lock. She then instructed the employees who were working at a decent pace, to quickly lock the door after anyone exited, so no one else could come in. She worked at a frantic pace, which seemed uncomfortable to everyone around her, including us. While the couple in front of us were being helped, she barked at us to come to the far register. We quickly ordered our scoop, and felt rushed to leave. We knew they were closing and hadn't planned to extend their schedule. I asked if she was the Manager and she said yes. I believe her name was Bri. She said she is the Manager, but has a boss... of course she does, she's not the owner. I know finding good help is hard these days, but finding good management is key. Within 30 seconds, I could tell I wouldn't ever want to have her for my boss. Excellent customer service and instilling positive teamwork are the two most crucial points in management. Closing early, violating Oregon Fire Code by locking fire exit doors while customers are still inside, barking orders at employees and making valued, paying customers feel like an inconvenience are only going to turn future customer's away. She even hollered that they were closed and turned away a man wanting in 2 minutes before 8pm. She's raised her voice to a woman and two kids who were trying to come in, when someone exited, telling them rudely, that they were closed. I hope Goody's gets better, because tonight, for many of us, it wasn't so good. read more

Goody's is like the only ice cream game in the village. It's the place people go when they're done with riding bikes and swimming. Anyway, there's a line on the left for candy and/or ice cream and a line on the right for ice cream only. That line on the right goes out the door when it's busy. $3.50 for a single scoop. Is it worth it? Flavors change daily, but I've experienced creamier before. The marionberry sorbet was ok, and the chocolate almond had lots of almonds. Once in a while I think this place is alright. There's a few places to sit inside and out, but if you don't like mobs of people and short people with sticky fingers, stay away. read more

We visited on a busy summer afternoon. The crowd and line was to be expected. Stars earned were primarily for the speed of service despite demand, straight forward appropriate customer service and availability of seating. The scent of waffle cones was of course lovely. The ice cream was...ice cream--nothing to write home about (yet enough to review?...I digress) BUT good, particularly for a hot mid-day treat. I had the coconut ice cream with hot fudge on top and my husband had the brownie batter in a waffle cone. Both were satisfactory. (Skip to the end of this review for the summary sentence, otherwise a lengthy rant on sour belts ensues). A bit of warning for my fellow Sour Belt seekers, DO NOT purchase sour belts from Goody's. I should have known when they told me EACH belt was $0.25--this was a hard pill for me to swallow as I often buy my belts by 1/2...or let's be honest, 1 lb batches when I visit candy stores. As I am an addict of these sour ribbons of goodness--I took the bitter pill served and paid 3.75 for approximately a 1/4 lb (potentially less) bag of watermelon and apple sour belts. I left the shop a relatively happy sour belt addict, anticipating my return to the room to venture into my goodies. To my dismay, I started to eat my first belt when I realized the belt was so stale that it would not melt in my mouth no matter how long I sucked on that bad boy--chewing it was a venture that left my jaw aching. I had hoped it was just the watermelon belts that left the literal taste of disappointment in my mouth but to my dismay the apple belts were just as stale and inedible. All this to be said, the remaining $3.25 worth of belts found a home in the garbage. So I repeat, DO NOT purchase the sour belts unless Goody's replenishes their stock. I'm not sure that we would visit Goody's again. If we did it would be for a quick scoop of straight forward ice cream--we'll skip the candy. read more

A malt shop from a time gone bye. It was a fantastic experience from my youth to share with my children. It's a must visit whenever you're in Sunriver. I miss of the owner that was always working there when I was growing up. He always seemed so happy and cheerful and delivered fantastic service. The worst customer service and it was from the manager no less. Will never patronize the store again and will let family and friends know about the humiliating experience. Manager refused to serve my son what he ordered because he said they were closing in a few minutes, yet two people ordering after him ordered the same thing he asked for and they were served what they asked for. The manager was rude and confrontational. In addition, my son was sitting in a seat eating his ice cream (because manager would not give him a blackberry shake) waiting for the rest of the family to get their orders and the manager yelled and pointed his finger directly at my son from behind the counter in front of all the other customers in the store, telling him to "get out, we are closed!" For the prices they charge, they should be serving each customer on a silver platter! After everything, the ice cream was mediocre at best and two of our orders were wrong. read more

The ice cream is pretty good but the truffles are amazing! (I'm not even a huge truffle maniac, but these things are great!) It's hard to pass by the smell of the caramel corn too. Yeah, it's a little pricey but it's a nice place to visit. read more

Ice cream was delicious as always but the store itself is an absolute wreck. Ice cream splattered everywhere, windows are disgusting and dirty, stuffed animal shelves look the saddest they've ever looked and same with the chocolate case. I wanted some lemon creams but they looked to be about a month old, dumped chocolate and nuts lined the bottom of the case. Not at all how it was a year ago. Employee service was mediocre. No name tags, cashier was about to get my friend some chocolate using the same gloves she just used to handled cash with, I asked the ice cream scooper to please put on gloves to scoop my icecream as she was drinking her own personal drink up front and touching her straw with her bare hands. We are in a pandemic and I think the fact that no one is wearing gloves (or washing their hands) to scoop ice cream is ridiculous. Overall, Goody's in Sunriver has gone downhill and it's very sad to see that the owner nor the manager seems to care. I hope the owners will see this review so they can bring back the Goody's we all know and love. read more

Goody's was an overall fantastic visit: great selection of candy, the ice cream is delicious, and the environment is friendly and welcome! I was slightly disappointed in the service speed. I love Goody's, they are always packed during the busy summer season, winter holidays and weekends! The candies are exceptional, most are hand made in their factory in Bend, OR although, I do believe they have some that is not. The caramel corn is handmade and to die for! My husband, 1.5 y/o son, and I visited Sunriver earlier this year (early Sept 2014) and I have been coming here almost every other year since I myself was a toddler. I have always LOVED goody's, so it makes me sad to have to write a bad review but this past time we went it seemed as if the owners had changed or something? The quality of Ice cream was not as good as it normally was and the prices are absolutely ridiculous. I think it was like $6+ for a waffle cone... Single scoop. The first day I got a cookies n cream cone and there were 3 small chunks of cookie in it, so it was basically a vanilla cone. I thought to myself, maybe I just got unlucky and tried a mint choc chip a day or two later. Nope. The quality wasn't good, it wasn't creamy whatsoever and hardly minty. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad ice cream, and I love that it's handmade BUT the quality for the price is a no-go in my book. We ended up buying an ice cream tub and cones from the sunriver grocery store that was a million times better and cheaper. Sorry Goody's! read more

Probably my favorite place in the entire village, the caramel corn is to die for! Sun River is a resort, packed with high end shops, tours and all sorts of ways to get your money...I get it. Right smack dab in the middle is this gem full of sweet treats for the adults and kids. It was nice to go into the shop with high school kids working, having fun and being kids and not trying to sell you a $60 sweatshirt that retails for $9.99 at Walmart. The owner was there and was working, helping and was probably the nicest person we interacted with. Kudos! read more

Scoop size was ridiculously small given the prices. Ordered a root beer float and the root beer was warm and very little ice cream. It was served in a Pepsi to go cup instead of the glassware they had available. Rip off!!!! read more

they have amazing ice cream and chocolates which is all homemade. it does get extremely busy after dinner so be prepared to wait in line but it is definitely worth it. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. The 1 star is for the young people working there, who were very friendly. We stopped by here after a long day exploring, it was early Spring and not quite ice cream weather so we opted for hot coffee instead because my friend recommended it. The mochas we purchased at an exorbitant price were horrible! I thought they had made a mistake when making them, and we asked politely if something had gone wrong. The coffee might as well have been hot water with some powdered milk. The counter person apologized and said that she knew their coffee wasn't good, but still we were not offered a refund or a fix. I blame the owners of the store, not the kids working there. Obviously poor quality coffee and cheapness on the store owners' part. This coffee would not fly in Portland! I would expect better in an area where there are a predominance of Mercedes and BMW's in the parking lot. read more
