Front desk service. Absolutely horrible customer service laziness at its best right here at this Goodyear location. Brought my truck in for a tire replacement (had warranty) they "patched" the tire mind you this took 5 hours here at the shop and I take my truck home only to have it completely flat by evening. I live an hour from location had to bring it back next day to be put in line again to get the tire replaced which should've been done in the first place. Employees in the shop are working at a slow pace can tell just by the way they're walking in the shop dragging taking their time. Now that wouldn't be such a problem if my issue was fixed but no problem was not they patched up a nail and turns out there was another area on the tire that also needed to be repaired. How they did not catch that upon inspection is just laziness half ass work. The only thing I can come up with is that's the best they got no one wants to work so they settle for lazy employees who work half ass and are okay with it. Once my tire warranty ends I will be taking my services elsewhere . read more

This location was absolutely terrible. We had an appointment at 8am for a simple tire replacement. It took 3 hours. The workers were on their phones and working at a super slow pace. The only way work seemed to get done was when the manager or shift lead stepped out in the bay. When they went to start a diesel truck, they didn't wait to start and just turned the key. If you take a diesel truck here, you may have to explain that. If customer service is their number one priority, they need to hire new employees. Save your time and just go to any other tire shop. read more

Took my car for its maintenance oil change, new brake pads, & flush oil. It was about $60 more compared to some other locations but this place is conveniently located walking distance. I was able to drop it off early and it was ready by noon. The staff was nice and they did have $50 off, if you spend more than $150 on services. read more

I've been here a couple times for service and it is generally a pretty good idea to call ahead and set an appointment the day before. This can reduce your wait time up to 2 hours. They have done oil changes, state inspections, full 4 tire replacement with rotation, and replaced a flat tire for me. Goodyear is a great tire brand for the money and it is nice using their credit card payment option too for big purchases. They honor discount and promotional services here, as well. With a discount deal, I got a four set of Eagle Sport All-Season Tires for around $530. Staff is very knowledgeable and haven't had much issues here. Overall pretty professional and respectful staff...gotta trust your mechanic right!? For those living/working in the downtown area this is probably your best bet for a timely tire repair with reliability. read more

Made an appointment for a tire inspection and waited for more than an hour. Customer who walked in right before me for a tire inspection (no appointment) was in and out in 30 minutes. The technician that worked on my truck left his phone on my passenger seat. I did not notice until I looked at my phone and saw 6 missed calls from Goodyear. I returned the phone, and the technician acted annoyed with me like I had caused him some massive inconvenience- even after I apologized to him. Very unprofessional. I tried to deal with it in the store once I was presented with my very surprising bill. I visited this location a few days ago for the required yearly car inspection and they were great! I called ahead of time to see if I could make an appointment or it was walk-ins only. The person at the phone said it was walk-ins only and would take around 1hr. I got there around 4:00PM and 45min later they were done with the car and everything was ready to go. I've noticed that at other places they always try to sell me more stuff when I come for an inspection, but they didn't try to do that which I appreciate it. My tire pressure was also a little low before getting there, and they were nice enough to help me with that as well. I'll definitely be coming to this location for future car inspections. read more

The only thing good about this shop is that they had early slots open online to make an appointment. I sat for 3+ hours with an appointment. Asked why is it taking so long they said they had to patch another tire on my van that had a hole it in...... they told everybody that I seen come in for tire repair that they had nails in them and I don't believe them at all. Also notice that they didn't even use the multimeter right to check a woman's battery and said that a charge wouldn't help and needed to buy a whole new battery and she did. P.s. I would have told them to show me the tire but it was a rental and I didn't have to pay for it I would not come here at all again. read more

The service managers are nice, but they'll fleece you for all you're worth. I spent thousands on my car here and not only are the issues not fixed, but they'll keep magically finding new ones. I would never recommend this business. I made an appt for 9:00am. Sat waiting area. An hour and half. I asked if they heard anything I was told they hadn't even checked it yet. Why offer appts if they don't honor them. So unprofessional. It's not like they are doing anything for free. To do a diagnostic it is $150. Terrible company to work for. The management is very poor and will do anything to get a bonus. Working for this company for only 6-7 months I experienced a lot of negativity from this job. Being an employee that works in the shop everything falls into our laps. We was always blamed for everything, we take to long, we are slow, and so much more. We have team huddles 2-3 times a month to go over how we could do better but yet the manager never takes it into consideration and forgets about us worker in the shop. Nothing really works in the shop at all 2 of the bays are down tire machines broken and it takes a long time to get anything fixed or even ordered. It's not the guys in the shop fault not one bit, for all you customers that is told "we can do it in a hr" they are lying he just wants your money. Everything falls on the manager. He should not be running the shop if he cannot be true to his words and help make his team better. So if anyone has to leave ITS THE MANAGER which is raul !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He don't like to stay away from the shop he's constantly there he can work 7days a week if he can. People are leaving 1 by 1 due to how the shop is being run, I'm the 3rd person to leave due to poor management read more

So frustrating. I called to ensure the guy doing state inspections was available. They said yep, there's only one guy who can but he's finishing a project then taking his lunch so he should be available in an hour or so. I show up a little over an hour later and they tell me "oh he's still working on the same thing and it's gonna take him another half hour or so, then he's taking his lunch so he can't even see it for another hour and a half". Fine, I'll walk home and pick it up later. I get how it is to not get a lunch because of a rush. But I show back up 3 hours later to pick up the car and it's STILL not done. So I watch as they take the 5 minutes to do the inspection. Why they couldn't do that in the first place I have no idea, but that was pretty crummy. That being said it was $7, so pretty inexpensive. So apparently I've been driving over construction sites because I've had 4 nails in my tires in the past month! I noticed one last week and although my tire wasn't deflated, I decided to take it in and have it repaired. I knew it was time to change my front tires due to the worn out tread from trips to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, and parts in between. Those tires have crossed over heat, snow, ice, dessert, hill country, and apparently a few nails! D'oh! Searching for a tire repair shop at 4pm on a Friday afternoon, I was already feeling defeated but alas, the giant GOODYEAR sign blinked at me from a far and I pulled in. The lobby is big and spacious. There's room to wander and a place to sit. There's a tv to watch and magazines to read. The manager was friendly and although he took long with each customer in line and on the phone, he gave me the same attention which I appreciated. After reviewing my nail, it turns out I had 3 nails in my front tires and because of the tread being so worn out (which I already knew) he suggested I get new ones pronto! He didn't have them in stock but could have them in the morning. I got my quote and before I walked out he said to me "I will beat any price. I really want your business." Now usually, being a flirty girl, my first instinct is to think this guy is hitting on me, but no, he seemed sincere. So I walk out get in my nail-filled car and call up Discount Tires to get their quote. Naturally, they're $20 cheaper. I call Goodyear back and alas, he found me a better price. Now it would have been great if he would have given me his lower price from the beginning but having been to my share of garages, I liked the customer service, nice-non-greasy lobby, attention to detail (he realized my air filter was disgustingly filthy and messing with my gas mileage which is very true!), and flexible hours of operation. I'll give them another shot. They're close to work and close enough to home that I can go there. My dad is the one who usually takes care of all the car stuff but if I ever need work done on my own, I'll call Goodyear first. read more

It is nice to have a trusted auto service center close to the Riverwalk area where you can get a variety of care care services from and know that they will be honest and fair with you. I called before coming in for a tire leak, and they told me they had availability if I wanted ti bring it in. I let them know I had a doctor's appointment before they started, and if they couldn't fix it in time to let me know. They insisted that it would be fixed in enough time to make it to my appointment. 2 hours later I am still sitting here waiting for a tire to be plugged after I told them my circumstances. My vehicle is still not done, and I have missed my appointment. The workers gave no remorse for their timing, and the worker working on my vehicle is walking around like he has no clue what is going on. If I were to die before my appointment that had to be rescheduled for the next month, I'd definitely blame Goodyear. I hate this place. Don't come here. read more

We only came here because we needed to get somewhere quick before our tire went flat, fully staffed not a lot of cars they apparently looked like higher ups were here having a meeting never offered a place to sit or wait we walked around outside with our infant child. I brought vehicle in for a clutch repair possible oil leak and vacuum hoes check. this is the second repair work I've done at this Goodyear, repaired and oil leak that time, but I can't remember what else they left one bolt off then too. However, this last visit they left the fly wheel, cover off and the bolts on the frame. I noticed an old leak so I took it to Jiffy Lube to get in oil change. They discovered an old leak after I asked them to look then I drove to San Antonio from Jiffy Lube. It wasn't until the second Jiffy Lube the next day that I had them check to see the oil level that the manager discovered the fly wheel missing. When I took this vehicle in I waited three days until each manager had the day off and the mechanic before any work done started. Each time I had to ask for the vacuum most to be checked. Also look for the oil leak if any and to repair the clutch. It was nearly 5 days later that they told me it was done but did not check for a leak or the vacuum hose. So I left at one additional day and at 3 PM on the fifth day I called and they still had not got to my truck. Said the mechanic was on lunch at 3 o'clock and I said don't bother I'll just come pick it up. . Each time I waited patiently until the service people were ready from first visit to when I finally paid for it. I asked him for my engine for my clutch parts and I assume they were in the back of the truck when I got home they were neither in the back of the truck, nor did they mention them upon check out. read more

I have taken my company vehicles there on several occasions, and prior to doing so I call and see how long will the job take. I get told on the phone it will be done today, and it never gets done!!!! I only have to vans to deliver with so I need them daily. I need things done when they say the will be done. I go to pick the van up nothing has been done, one mechanic is talking and enjoying his cup of coffee......it's 815, another one is just arriving!!! I tell them to just give it back because I have to keep my word on the job or service I provided unlike Goodyear!!! I don't have the Luxury of missing my deadline. This has happened a several times, my company has a contract with them but I will definitely get that changed. I wouldn't advise anyone to spend your money or waste your time!!! This location somehow put the wrong number of VIN digits on the TX state form after making me wait 1.5 hours for an inspection. How does this happen? The tax office discovered the error and made me return to Goodyear the following day to correct it. The Goodyear reps, after not being very apologetic or taking responsibility, then proceeded to record my insurance information incorrectly. Luckily, I caught this glitch in person before having to hit the tax office again. The manager's response was to shrug his shoulders. If this is their level of customer service and attention to detail on simple tasks, why would anyone use them for mechanical work where safety and reliability are on the line? read more

They're always willing to stop and explain something to me and do a great job at communicating updates. This place is the Bad News Bears of Auto Garages. Bring a book, a magazine, crossword puzzle, trail mix, sleeping bag, etc. because they have never been able to finish a basic oil change in less than two hours. I dropped my car off yesterday at 130pm. There was a defeated looking woman and a man sleeping in the waiting area. SPOILER ALERT. 4pm rolls around and my friend drops me off to see what the status of my car is. It's still sitting in the exact same spot, baking in the harsh texas sun. I walk inside to talk to the stellar attendant. After he finishes surfing monster.com (most likely) on the computer he informs me it will be another 45 minutes before they can get to my car. I voice my displeasure and he consoles me by pointing at the man who is still sleeping in the waiting area and saying "It could be worse, he's been here since 7AM." Completely enlightened by this guy's perception of the current situation, I asked for my keys back and left, a Goodyear customer no more. read more

Had two bald tires on my BMW so I ordered two new ones online for a killer deal. Called Goodyear on south Saint Mary's because they're literally right down the street from me and had some pretty good reviews here on Yelp. Called to schedule my appointment and Terry was very helpful in getting me scheduled. He recommended an alignment along with the tires being mounted and balanced and since I did have some uneven wear on the tires I figured the car was due (65k miles). Dropped the car off around 3:30 and Andrew checked the car in. He was very friendly and said that they were backed up and may not to get working on the car until around 4:30, which was fine with me because I could walk home and didn't have anything going on that afternoon. Andrew said come back around 6-6:30 and they should be done. Returned at 6:30 and waited until 7:15 for them to completely finish. Chatted with Andrew while I waited and the fact that they went a little longer than estimated didn't bother me so much. Once the car was finished Terry took the time to explain to me the results of the alignment and what all of the information meant... Awesome customer service here, need more people in the automotive industry like this. So up until this point I'm happy. My car was all set and they gave me a killer deal ($25/tire for mounting and $135 for 3 years of unlimited alignments... Normal one time alignment is almost $100 so this was a no-brainer). What ended up taking this down from a 4 star review to a 3 is how dirty my car was on the inside. Now I understand that mechanics get dirty throughout the day, but there's no excuse for leaving greasy/grimey finger prints and smudges all over someone's steering wheel, shift knob, and the driver's door. The car also smelled like B.O. I used to own a detailing shop so you can imagine how much this irked me. Luckily when I got home everything cleaned up relatively easily, but this definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Most likely will return for another alignment down the line, but next time I'll definitely be more vocal in person if my car comes back with grease all over it inside again. read more

Had a leak and stopped in. I was the only customer there. Took them 20 minutes to give my keys to the tech, 10 minutes for him to take my car. Another 30 go by and nothing. I ask them the status and that I was late for work and they go check. Then they let me know I need a new tire and it will only take 10 minutes. It took them over an hour to tell me I needed a new tire. Horrible, slow service with no regards to time management. Go elsewhere read more

Decided to take my vehicle to get an oil change at the Goodyear location in Southtown, on a Friday around 11:00 am. The Store Manager Raul Ramirez handle my transaction, he was very moody and communicated poorly. He never mention to me that it would take two hours to get a oil change. Although, there was an empty bin where the oil change were supposed to be taken care of. So I figure I try to book an appointment on Monday at 10:30 am. I show up at 10:15, On Monday as I type this review it has taken over an Hour to get my oil change. I asked why for the delay and they agree that they are understaff. The only reason this location gets any stars is the people at the front desk. When I first moved here I went to a place that attempted to up-charge and sell me things my car didn't need so I decided to try Goodyear when I needed an oil change. I made an appointment online, super easy. My appointment was on a Monday mid-day, not a weekend, not a busy time period. I don't know anyone here well enough to drop my car off so I had to wait for my car. Understand I am an extremely reasonable person, I never complain or write reviews when I'm disappointed but this was ridiculous. I waited 2 and a half hours just for my car to be pulled into the garage, and another hour for my car to get an oil change and tire rotation. If I had just walked in without an appointment, I would understand the time it took to pull my car in but the fact that I made an appointment and wasted 3 and a half hours of my day off is crazy. The people at the front desk were kind and checked on the status of my car, but they are the only reason I'm giving any stars. Don't allow people to make appointments if your going to be completely booked for hours during that time. It would make more sense to block off the time you already have other projects. I'm sorry if this causes problems but I cannot believe I wasted this amount of time for a simple oil change and tire rotation. read more

If you come in on a Saturday or Sunday don't expect them to work miracles. They won't have your car out in a few minutes. Take it upon yourself to be smart and come on a day when they aren't busy if you're so impatient. These guys work hard and are very knowledgeable. They don't criticize you for not knowing anything about cars either. If you have questions you can ask without feeling dumb and they will gladly explain what your options are. read more

I could've driven to west Texas, taken the the crude outta the ground, refined it, done the oil change myself and then been sitting at home with a beer in that time.
