This padticular store branch houses an amazing team of trusted techs and a caring management team as well. Area boss Johnny who actually has his office at this branch took personal care of what I would consider a comprehensive project for my vehicle that needed a major repair due to a mistake that one of the techs at another branch made. Johnny made everything as easy as possible for me as I dealt with all the inconvenience and anxiety. I have 2 vehicles and get all my services here until recently. I will find somewhere else to go based solely on their customer service is terrible. The store manager is completely rude especially when I asked for my receipt. He said why when your vehicle is fine. I gave them a few chances the last couple of months because everyone has a bad day sometimes but I will no longer go to them. The guy acts like he doesn't even want to be there leaning across the counter completely unprofessional and the technicians have to go pull him out of his office every time a customer came in. I will first begin positively: if you need tires - ONLY tires - this is the place to go. Several months ago I was with a daughter (the primary driver of the van that needed tire service: balance, rotation) at this location. In the process of this service it was discovered that brake work was needed. As we were in more immediate need of the van, and because the service writer presented the need as fairly dire, we agreed to the work. My first complaint is that it took a LONG time, and we were made to wait so long that I will admit to a bit of desperation for them to actually do the work. Fast forward: after spending nearly $500 for the so-called repairs, about two months later I happened to be driving said Sienna van; I noticed that the brakes were not working well, there was shimmying and the emergency brake was not working. When I took the van to our regular mechanic about these problems, he essentially re-did the same brake work, and in the process found several anomalies (such as unconnected and missing parts). I went back to Big O to see if just perhaps they would AT LEAST reimburse me for the parts costs; instead, the manager sort of "quacked" at me, asking why I hadn't brought the van back to that store (as if! I would; I hadn't even noticed the problems, and if I did, why would I trust them to do it right?), and that he would notify someone up the line from him about my concerns. Months went by . . . no response of any kind . . . recently I needed further brake work, so I took the Sienna to our reliable mechanic, where even more failures (presumably, on the part of Big O were noted) and subsequently repaired, for further cost. Found a screw in one of my tires late Saturday afternoon. Was the last thing I wanted to deal with and other local shops wouldn't check it out til Monday. Drove a few miles to this shop and they were able to get me in even though they were getting ready to close up shop. I was out within ~30 minutes! This is the second or third Big O Tires location I've been to where I've been put in a bind at the end of the day and they saved my weekend. Beyond disappointed because although the did a good job putting new tires on, it didn't seem like they were balanced since they ripped the weights that were on there off and you can still see the residue. scratched a rim, I am missing a hubcap, and I am missing the chrome mustang that is in the middle of 2 of them. I got an alignment at this location and technicians did a horrid job. They do not know how to do an alignment with adjustable upper control arms and left my truck with its tires bowed inwards. I have SPC upper control arms on my 2000 4Runner and they did not know how to get the alignment right. They only know how to work within factory specs and do not know how to adjust for aftermarket suspension upgrades. I will not be coming back here for this kind of work. read more

I went online, made an appointment. I filled out all of the paperwork online. When I got there, they went out to my car, and took an odometer reading and some other information. We came inside, and they asked me a lot of questions that I had already put into the appointment questionnaire. As I was going into the waiting room, I thought I better let them know that I don't have a lot of time because I only budgeted enough time for my oil change, normally 10 to 15 minutes, and I understand if they go over 5 or 10 minutes so 25 minutes would have been a lot of time but I was ready for that. I asked them how long it would be and they told me it would be 45 minutes to an hour. I said, "for an oil change". He said yes. Why would I make an appointment to just sit around for 45 minutes to an hour. Why do they even do appointments if they aren't going to get right on to someone's car? I usually got to one of the quick service oil change places, and the oil change takes 10 to 15 minutes. If one has a lot of time to burn, Big O Tires might be the place to go but if one has things to do, I thing a quick oil change place would be better like Jiffy Lube. They even have a discount coupon, too. I don't work for Jiffy Lube but there are a lot of others that I haven't been to like Midas, Valvoline Oil Change, Take 5 Oil Change, ... As a former mechanic familiar with electrical, engine and drive train design, ooerstion, repair, reoperation, dropped my car off due to work and family commitments that week. Day 1, asked for break pads, fluid change and shock replacement all around. Drove home with right rear shock loose, banging and hitting metal on metal,, turned around had to have them fix it- 900.00. Day 2, picked up car and halfway home had a popping sound now coming from front driver side front end. Take it back only to have them tell me they never touched the front end. Asked how thats possible with the front shocks replaced the day before? 700.00 later, new front shocks finally installed, halfway home popping sound on front end still there. Car is 4 years old, bought with 26 k miles, current miles 60k, very well kept, low miles and driven very easy, absolutely no popping sounds ever experienced before turning it over to Big O. Day 3, only advice they gave was worn out ball joints???Are you kidding me? No chance, not a coincidence. Have used Big O for awhile, loyal customer for years since before they bought out the NTW that was there. Never giving them my business again. read more

Went in without an appointment for an oil change. They said the wait would be 30-45 minutes since I had no appointment - understandable. They got me in under 15 minutes. They did make recommendations and gave me a quote for items I needed. I thought the quote was fair and have scheduled an appointment to address those issues. I had previously gone to Midas on Culebra/1604 where they gave me a 1.5-2hr wait because I had no appointment so I appreciated them fitting me in. My tech, Jesse, was extremely helpful and courteous. Not even being dramatic I called to make an appointment a whole day in advance because I had was driving by and saw the "14.99$ oil change" sign and I normally get my oil changed for around that price so I was like let me give them a call. After being booked we hung up I called the next day 30 min before my scheduled oil change appointment just to confirm and make sure they had the oil for my car . WAYLAND the manager answered the phone and was the same gentleman that booked my appointment the day previous , I asked if he had the correct oil for that price and he than cut me off and told me that my car dosent take that oil for the promotion price listed !!!! When the day before I specifically asked him all the details even told him about the 14.99$ and it wasn't about the price my girlfriend has been going here for 2 years and I thought I might give them a try when I saw the price it was a plus but seemed to good to be true so that's why I called to double check before my appointment WAYLAND than proceed to get angry with me because I asked him "If you knew my car didn't take that oil for that price why didn't you tell me before booking my appointment?" And he proceeded to get mad at me tell me "So you want to cancel your appointment? Better yet I'll cancel it for you bye" and hung up on me !!! Crazy right ? It gets better I called back to ask for a manager and he tells me he is the manager !!!!!! I was mind blown I've never been spoke to by a manger like that ! I asked what did I do to him for him to be so mean to me ?? They did inform me of something else that had to be done on my car which took a whole 20 minutes, all they had to do was tightened a rod (no parts needed)... not surprising that it costed $150 for "labor". After trying to get in for 3 days I finally got in to have my tires checked for leakage. Of note I purchased Big O tires with the warranty and had them on for about 30K miles. Techs informed my my tread 3/32. Also i was informed that 2 of 2 tires had leaks me they could fix one with a nail hole due to the tread the other could not be repaired. Wanted to sell me $1200 tire replacements. Immediately left the store when I they attempted to charge me for the repairs, they "could repair" which are covered under their warranty. They nulled the charges after I reinformed them of their warranty. Upon leaving I went home and checked the tread and I measured it as 7/32 on all 4 tires. This branch seemed more interested in the sale vs maintenance of their tires. I went in to purchase new tires for my truck. They recommended Nitto tires so I went with their recommendation. As soon as I drove my truck, after spending $1,753.00, with the new tires on it was clear something was wrong. There was a tremendous radial pull and the truck could not go over 50 mph without losing control. My mechanic confirmed that this was the problem. I took the truck back the next day and told them what was happening. After waiting for hours they told me the truck was fine after they re did the alignment. I asked them about the tires and the guy got angry and said they were brand new tires there was nothing wrong with them. I barely made it home the truck drove so bad with the tires pulling from side to side. My husband and I went back the next morning and they told us to leave. I filed a written complaint with their corporate headquarters, no response. Was on hold for 30 minutes multiple times and could never get a hold of anyone at corporate. They don't even care that they put defective tires on my truck and put my life at risk. My truck is not drivable and I have to go get new tires somewhere else. I took my car in for a wheel Alignment. When they were finished the service manager said they could not align the drivers side rear wheel. They further stated and wrote on my invoice that they needed to "Remove and Replace Rear Crossmember." They also wrote that "Cradel, Rear Suspension " had to be replaced. The cost for labor would be $770 and the Cradel would cost $899 with a total cost of $1,779.23. Shortly after I left. My car has NEVER been in a major accident to cause that type of damage. This was all fine on March 28, 2023. On March 31st I took my car to a different shop (not Big O Tires) for a second opinion. This shop was able to align my 4 wheels and wrote on my invoice, "WE FOUND NO BAD PARTS OR DAMAGE. CAR ALIGNED TO SPEC" as was shown on print out showing the before and after pics of wheels. On April 3rd I called Big O Tires and spoke to the manager. I explained what happened and requested a refund and told him that his shop was trying to upsell a job that my car didn't need. He said I would have to take the car back for a recheck and insinuated that the paperwork I had from a different shop could be forged. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP. Horrible Service . I know each day is different, but just showing up today after a brief phone call with these folks, my total wait time to speak with an agent and get work initiated on my flat tire was 4 minutes. They installed 4 new tires on my car on July 1st at 55% of what my auto brand repair company had estimated. It was a great experience with them then, and another great experience with them today. Yes the work today took longer than I had hoped, but then it took them time to assess that the damage to the tire was not repairable and the only option was to get a new tire. And the cost of getting a new tire from them was simply excellent and so affordable! I tend to absolutely dislike most businesses I've had to deal with in San Antonio, but Big-O-Tires is DEFINITELY an exception. A great bunch of guys that work there. I needed to get some wheels mounted to tires and balanced. I had gone to Discount Tire and they said it couldn't be done for two weeks, however they had about 10 employees standing around not doing anything. I decided to try Big O and when I pulled up I was greeted and asked what I needed, so I explained what I needed. They employees got right to mounting and balancing my wheels and tires, took maybe 30 mins. I will definitely be going back to Big O when I need some tires for my vehicles. read more

DO NOT go to this shop for any type of discounts, especially Oil Changes and expect to get the price quoted for any specials they have. They have a 'special' on their web site that says you get a Full Synthetic Oil Change with a free tire rotation (which includes 'up to' 5 quarts of oil) for $49.95. I go in there with my 2011 Ford Edge to get the special, and the guy goes out to my car to get mileage and I guess my VIN number. He then comes back and says that the manufacturer's amount of oil that's used in my vehicle is 5.5 quarts, and I have to pay $64.95 instead of the advertised $49.95. I told them it was ridiculous that I would have to pay another $15 for HALF OF A QUART OF OIL. I actually live less than 4 blocks from this shop, and I told them I had some oil in my garage that I could add the half quart myself, and they said they could not do an oil change without putting the recommended amount of oil in the car. Needless to say, I walked out. Just be aware of their deceptive marketing practices. I'd take a guess they pull the same tricks with their other 'specials' and jack up the price because of some minor or other 'manufacturer requirement'. read more

I had tires put on by Big O Tires because they were on sale. Came with free alignments for a year. First time it was done the steering wheel was off to the right. Second time I went for alignment the steering wheel is off to the left. Please do not get your alignments done here. They suck I left with a crooked steering wheel.
