Great Service! Definitely would refer to friends and family. Robert was very honest and upfront about my repairs!

I took my 2012 Toyota Venza to Gil's for a paint job, my car was super oxidized on the hood and roof of my car, it looked awful. I spoke to Amber & Robert, they were so professional and so knowledgeable, they were very reasonable in price ( I had several estimates from other companies). They said they would probably take about a week and a half, they had it ready in a week! It looked like a brand new car, the paint job was outstanding! I would highly recommend this place for their expertise. They work with you all the way, trying to offer options to save customers money..just superb, couldn't be more pleased! read more

5 stars all the way. Gil's Auto Works was recommended to me by a friend. I never had any auto paint done since owning my car, and my parents had paint jobs done decades ago by businesses that have since closed down. So naturally I was cautious on which paint and body shop I wanted to have my car serviced at. Enter Gil's Auto Works. They have 5 star reviews plastered on Google and here on Yelp. Looking at the reviews and photos here on Yelp, I was impressed by the work presented. I went in one day, no call in, just brought the car over and walked in to ask for a quote/estimate. Immediately I was helped by an associate (Robert Gil's brother) who went outside to look at my car. He quickly took a picture of the peeling paint, and the door jamb sticker in order to match the paint. He quoted me $300 to get the hood done. All under 5 minutes. Mr Robert Gil and I negotiated the price down to $250, and after getting quoted $600 at another paint and body shop, I took the car in about a week later. Mr. Robert Gil informed me that the car would be done in two to three days. Three days later I get a text that my car was ready to get picked up. I arrived after hours (the business was closed, but Mr. Robert Gil made sure I was able to pick up my car) and was greeted by another associate with my car ready at the front of the business. After handling the payment, the car was ready to come back home. When I saw the car, it looked brand new. Who would've thought that something as simple as fixing some peeling hood paint could make a 2008 car look like it just drove out of the dealership. The work on the car was phenomenal and the car looked much more sleek. I applaud Gil's Auto Works, not only for their craftsmanship, but for their unbeatable price and smooth customer experience. I would totally recommend Gil's, and for it being my first paint and body shop experience; man it was worth it. read more

10 stars, all the way. My BMW had clear coat peeling on both the front and rear bumpers, and even though it was still under warranty when the peeling occurred, BMW wouldn't honor their responsibility on the paint. Robert at Gil's Auto Works was certainly up to the challenge. When I went to pick it up from his shop, the first question I asked was, "Did you just go over to BMW and get me a new one?" Truly, I don't think the car looked this beautiful even when I bought it. The color match was flawless and his finishing polish brought out a rich depth of color that defies description. Better pricing *and* better workmanship than any competition. If I lived in Austin, I would still drive here to have Robert and team work on my car. Make that Houston. I wish I had had better lighting and my big-girl camera with me for photos when they finished. Gil Auto *far* surpassed all my expectations. read more

repairs are question able, door interior and rear handle bar trim parts missing, airbag code and light never fixed. Was told it would be taken care of but seems to have been forgotten. interior was also dirty compared to when I dropped it off. Guess I should've taken it to a better place instead of trying to give the small business a shot. lesson learned read more

Had my chrome grille paint matched here. Within a day it was already peeling. You could easily see the prep was not don't properly. The chipped pieces expose the chrome that slightly looks sanded, no primer either. When I asked them about it they said it's normal. Don't waste your money here for paint work. They are no longer responding to me. read more

I've taken my car to Gil's Auto Works on two separate occasions. On both occasions, he exceeded my expectations. Not only was the paint job superb but the quality was second to NONE. As a female, I've always been apprehensive with having to get work done on my vehicle. The sense of relief I felt when provided with an affordable quote was a huge relief! I entrusted my vehicle to Gil's's and will continue to use them when needed and most importantly, recommend them to my family and friends. Thank you for taking care of your customers and not taking advantage during a time when prices have soared in every industry. read more

My van's front side was damaged and Mr. Robert Gil did fixed it, painted it, car washed the entire van, and double checked everything. He was reassuring and very good at responding to calls, texts, and emails with me and the insurance and made sure the van was ready on time. He helped out with the prices and deductible and made this process less stressful, I recommend this place 100%. read more

Was looking for a place to work on my car that was close to work, reliable, and a good price. Robert at Gil's Auto Works turned out to be all three! They gave me a great quote and talked me through all they were going to do to my car. No false promises or trying to sell me on something I didn't want or need. Took my car in and got it done in a timely manner. Robert even sent me some great pictures showing me their progress with my car. (This has never been done by any body shop I've ever dealt with!) They did exactly what they said they were gonna do and did it exactly when they said they would. Professional experience from start to finish. Quality of their work was top notch. Extremely happy with the entire experience and will definitely be back for any future auto body needs. Thanks to Robert and his entire crew for all of their hard work! read more

Absolutely phenomenal work! I cannot even begin to express how impressed I am with the quality of the work done by Gil & his shop. My car faced considerable body damage to the driver rear door and fender - Enough damage that every single body shop I contacted told me it was irreparable and that I must purchase a new door. Ha! Gil had me send very detailed pictures and explained everything that must be done to rectify the damage. His quote was more than fair, especially because it immediately removed the cost of replacing my entire door. I didn't want to be without my car for long and expressed my desire to have this done quickly so Gil assured me he would have the car done in 3 days - which I didn't think was possible - but he somehow pulled it off. To my surprise, not only was it completed on time, but it looked brand new again and he even cleaned the car for me. I was blown away. The body work is impeccable, the paint a perfect color match, and the blending work done is exceptional. No one would ever know this car had considerable damage. I would recommend Gil's Auto Works to everyone I know. Thank you again! read more

Robert has done work to my Mitsubishi Mirage twice! He's my go to guy. Best auto collision repair shop in the Southside of San Antonio. I've been a southsider all my life & have gotten quotes from everywhere in the Southside & this is your best bet. His work is immaculate & his prices are fair. The prices are low compared to anywhere else. Trust me. Every time he repaired my vehicle, the work was super fast & it looked as if my car got outta the dealership brand new. He responds quickly to my messages and even had my number saved from the first time he worked on my car. I'd highly recommend this shop to anyone in San Antonio, any side of town, they need to come down to Gil's to get their car repaired. 10/10 read more

Robert Gil did an excellent job repairing my car after a dishonest person backed into me in a parking lot and left (they left a note with a bogus phone number, but that's another story). I used Yelp to generate estimates, and his was the fastest reply and had a firm number. He even gave me an estimate and a contingency if the damage was more extensive than he could tell from the uploaded images. The damages were more extensive and he called to let me know before proceeding. Anyway, the work was fantastic and he stuck to the contingent estimate, which was way lower than I expected. In addition, he took care of a minor pre-existing scrape for no extra charge. The only complaint I have is that the repair took over a week. Part of that was attributable to a cold snap which delayed the paint drying process, but it still seemed like along time. Even with the delay, I am very happy with the repair and would use Gil's again if I ever need to have body work done. read more

My cousin's Cadillac SUV was rear-ended and it caused damage to the right side of her vehicle. We went to see Robert Gil and he gave us a great estimate and in less than a week her vehicle looked fantastic unnoticeable damage, Mr. Gil was very professional and kept in touch throughout the process. We definitely recommend to see him for a free estimate. read more

My car was damaged from the front end- looked like the bumper was going to completely fall off and the hood was slightly damaged as well (wish I would of saved the before pics) and Robert went above and beyond with working with my insurance to get me the best price and did an incredible job on fixing the front end of my Honda. He kept in contact with me & I am so happy my car looks better than it did when I first purchased it. I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking to get body work done on their vehicle. read more

Robert Gil was fast to respond when I requested a quote for work on front end damage on my 2010 Corolla. I chose Gil's after much internal debate. I'm glad I did.
