I took my 2012 Toyota Venza to Gil's for a paint job, my car was super oxidized on the hood and roof of my car, it looked awful. I spoke to Amber & Robert, they were so professional and so knowledgeable, they were very reasonable in price ( I had several estimates from other companies). They said they would probably take about a week and a half, they had it ready in a week! It looked like a brand new car, the paint job was outstanding! I never had any auto paint done since owning my car, and my parents had paint jobs done decades ago by businesses that have since closed down. So naturally I was cautious on which paint and body shop I wanted to have my car serviced at. Enter Gil's Auto Works. They have 5 star reviews plastered on Google and here on Yelp. Looking at the reviews and photos here on Yelp, I was impressed by the work presented. I went in one day, no call in, just brought the car over and walked in to ask for a quote/estimate. Immediately I was helped by an associate (Robert Gil's brother) who went outside to look at my car. He quickly took a picture of the peeling paint, and the door jamb sticker in order to match the paint. He quoted me $300 to get the hood done. All under 5 minutes. Mr Robert Gil and I negotiated the price down to $250, and after getting quoted $600 at another paint and body shop, I took the car in about a week later. Mr. Robert Gil informed me that the car would be done in two to three days. Three days later I get a text that my car was ready to get picked up. I arrived after hours (the business was closed, but Mr. Robert Gil made sure I was able to pick up my car) and was greeted by another associate with my car ready at the front of the business. After handling the payment, the car was ready to come back home. When I saw the car, it looked brand new. Who would've thought that something as simple as fixing some peeling hood paint could make a 2008 car look like it just drove out of the dealership. The work on the car was phenomenal and the car looked much more sleek. I applaud Gil's Auto Works, not only for their craftsmanship, but for their unbeatable price and smooth customer experience. My BMW had clear coat peeling on both the front and rear bumpers, and even though it was still under warranty when the peeling occurred, BMW wouldn't honor their responsibility on the paint. Robert at Gil's Auto Works was certainly up to the challenge. When I went to pick it up from his shop, the first question I asked was, "Did you just go over to BMW and get me a new one?" Truly, I don't think the car looked this beautiful even when I bought it. The color match was flawless and his finishing polish brought out a rich depth of color that defies description. Had my chrome grille paint matched here. Within a day it was already peeling. You could easily see the prep was not don't properly. The chipped pieces expose the chrome that slightly looks sanded, no primer either. When I asked them about it they said it's normal. Don't waste your money here for paint work. They are no longer responding to me. read more

Absolutely phenomenal work! I cannot even begin to express how impressed I am with the quality of the work done by Gil & his shop. My car faced considerable body damage to the driver rear door and fender - Enough damage that every single body shop I contacted told me it was irreparable and that I must purchase a new door. Ha! Gil had me send very detailed pictures and explained everything that must be done to rectify the damage. His quote was more than fair, especially because it immediately removed the cost of replacing my entire door. I've been a southsider all my life & have gotten quotes from everywhere in the Southside & this is your best bet. His work is immaculate & his prices are fair. The prices are low compared to anywhere else. Trust me. Every time he repaired my vehicle, the work was super fast & it looked as if my car got outta the dealership brand new. He responds quickly to my messages and even had my number saved from the first time he worked on my car. Robert Gil did an excellent job repairing my car after a dishonest person backed into me in a parking lot and left (they left a note with a bogus phone number, but that's another story). I used Yelp to generate estimates, and his was the fastest reply and had a firm number. He even gave me an estimate and a contingency if the damage was more extensive than he could tell from the uploaded images. The damages were more extensive and he called to let me know before proceeding. Anyway, the work was fantastic and he stuck to the contingent estimate, which was way lower than I expected. In addition, he took care of a minor pre-existing scrape for no extra charge. The only complaint I have is that the repair took over a week. Part of that was attributable to a cold snap which delayed the paint drying process, but it still seemed like along time. Even with the delay, I am very happy with the repair and would use Gil's again if I ever need to have body work done. read more
