I never had any auto paint done since owning my car, and my parents had paint jobs done decades ago by businesses that have since closed down. So naturally I was cautious on which paint and body shop I wanted to have my car serviced at. Enter Gil's Auto Works. They have 5 star reviews plastered on Google and here on Yelp. Looking at the reviews and photos here on Yelp, I was impressed by the work presented. I went in one day, no call in, just brought the car over and walked in to ask for a quote/estimate. Immediately I was helped by an associate (Robert Gil's brother) who went outside to look at my car. He quickly took a picture of the peeling paint, and the door jamb sticker in order to match the paint. He quoted me $300 to get the hood done. All under 5 minutes. Mr Robert Gil and I negotiated the price down to $250, and after getting quoted $600 at another paint and body shop, I took the car in about a week later. Mr. Robert Gil informed me that the car would be done in two to three days. Three days later I get a text that my car was ready to get picked up. I arrived after hours (the business was closed, but Mr. Robert Gil made sure I was able to pick up my car) and was greeted by another associate with my car ready at the front of the business. After handling the payment, the car was ready to come back home. When I saw the car, it looked brand new. Who would've thought that something as simple as fixing some peeling hood paint could make a 2008 car look like it just drove out of the dealership. The work on the car was phenomenal and the car looked much more sleek. I applaud Gil's Auto Works, not only for their craftsmanship, but for their unbeatable price and smooth customer experience. I would totally recommend Gil's, and for it being my first paint and body shop experience; man it was worth it.

He said I'd be amazed with the results, I wasn't expecting perfection, but what I paid is expect better. In front of front tire this "paste" was left. He said it'd turn to powder and wipe off, it didn't and the parts that did left dark paint. The 2 doors are bumpy and the paint to fix it underneath is still visible. In front of the back tire, they tried to paint and the paint peeled off. He said he'd come back to buff it out. I ended up getting rid of the car.

Cinco de Mayo 2022 started with getting rear-ended and ended with getting things out of my truck at South Texas Collision Center LLC. It was the first time I had gone to them for work, and to be honest, I had just picked a shop close to my side of town that was on the tow truck driver's list. Regardless of the accident, working with these guys was AWESOME; South Texas Collision Center LLC completed the work in record time. I could get out of the horrible rental I had been driving. Quick story: People seem to judge body shops on timeliness, accuracy, attention to detail, etc. Everything must be perfect, and it is not, nor will it ever be. I say this because I still rated them five stars across the board despite minor issues after getting my vehicle back. Why? When I returned, the shop did not give an excuse; I got TOP quality customer service and a way forward to fix the minor issues. Customer service and work ratings should follow the whole person concept, including their work and customer service. Even when and if you must go back for any size issue. As I said, no one is perfect, and I was hesitant to mention that I had minor issues, but I was taken back by their attentiveness and quick answers. I had to mention it to illustrate how well they listen to their customers. I took my 2002 F-350 to them after "The Great Texas Freeze: February 11-20, 2021 when it was stolen. The police were able to recover it with damages.  My friend John M recommended I take it to his friend Manny at Bolado's Automotive. They did an excellent job on my truck restoring it almost to great condition at a very reasonable cost. When the incorrect bed to the truck was sent to them by the parts suppliers, they diligently searched the NATION to ensure the right bed was found. It took a while but they assured me it would be done right above all! I had to go to Europe for transplant evaluation in March so he allowed me to leave my truck there to do some minor repairs during my absence. I ended up gone until September but they took care of me.  Even when my truck was vandalized he is still assisting me with the repairs and helping my friend John (Navy Veteran) get a replacement car. Manny is a highly decorated veteran (only flaw he was not USAF, but US MARINE and a true professional. He runs a great business and is very VETERAN supportive.  I have come to realize that relationships are VERY important to him.
