Do not take your vehicle to this business for extensive repairs with researching. I took my car to…read morethem 10 months ago (Aug) and paid $1927.84 for new rotors, brakes, and calipers. They installed the parts and drove off assuming all was well. A week or so later I had to return as my new brakes were squeaking. So I came back and they shared the brakes were fine and they had some dust. After cleaning the dust they claim all was well. Driving away I was hoping so. Over the next few months Feb/March I was driving the vehicle and continued to smell a burning smell. Beginning to get worried as I had a trip approaching I contacted Midas and was informed that no mechanic was available to inspect the vehicle and advised not to drive the car. I then took the vehicle to Suburban Ford of Troy in which a formal inspection revealed that the right rear caliper piston had seized, causing the brake pad to be completely destroyed and the rotor ruined, hence causing the burning smell. The dealership technician shared this is as "extremely dangerous," noting that the tire could have caught fire or exploded. I was forced to pay an additional $602.94 out of pocket to Suburban Ford to repair the damage caused by the failed Midas part. Since said time I have attempted to resolve the matter with Midas for 90 days and have been ignored and provided excuses with no resolve which is very disheartening. Please do your research with this business. At best they are good at oil changes and rotating tires and pleasant front location staff. That is all!!!

So, beyond standard car maintenance, (oil changes, coolant flushes, tires) I've never had to have a…read morecar repair until now. My poor baby is getting up there in age and mileage, and she's starting to need stuff replaced. After my check engine light came on, I initially took it to the dealership on Rochester Road since I've worked with them before. After being told the repairs were going to be $1300, I came here to get them done since I find that to be upsurd. (please note, stealership is good for oil changes, and the dudes that work there, as everyone knows, are heartless and obviously gouge you. I'm no dummy.) I spent a lot of time speaking to Karly and she was awesome to work with. I mean, the whole staff here is awesome, but she was my main point of contact. She ran some diagnostics on the car (way quicker than the dealership, obviously) and confirmed what needed to be fixed to get the car back out on the road, and what could wait. It lowered my price down to $887, beating the dealership by about $450. (that's not a typo.) Besides the pricing, the staff here is WAY better, and I get a lot more bang for my buck. Free rentals, way nicer staff, and an all around easier experience. I am coming back here for more service in the future, as I was beyond pleased with my experience. I wish more shops ran like this, and it makes the process way less painful. I cannot thank South Street enough for everything. They were professional in every way, and I encourage you to give them your business. My mom and I will be back, and we couldn't be happier.

Car is now fine but if you have Lincoln as this, you might have this problem also...the water pump is in the engine, not on the outside. My car only has 60,000 miles on it. The tech explained everything so clearly so I could understand the prob & the repair. He was great. Even had me come in to recheck if it was still OK & pressure checked the engine...
