I went up there to get one tire replaced and they charged me a 3-year warranty alignment which I didn't ask for. Then they dropped it down to a 1-year warranty for the alignment to save me a hundred bucks but I didn't even ask for that and they still charged me then when I was being rung up they instead of taking care of me first they took care of three other customers that were picking up their cars when my payment on my end went through on my bank account it didn't go through on their end so now I might have to go back up there tomorrow to make a payment. read more

The front desk staff was friendly, but not all required services were completed. When booking online, the oil change said it was supposed to come with a free tire rotation, but when looking at the receipt, it wasn't done. I called back and the store stated that they didn't see it on the initial ticket and didn't attempt to rectify the situation. Very disappointed in the experience. What kind of shit automotive facility doesn't have a low profile jack? I mean, seriously, it's 2024. What I think it is, is that they're all freaking lazy and if they can't put it on a lift, they don't want to touch it. I would highly suggest staying away from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. on Three Chopt & Patterson near the Village shopping center. Absolute waste of time. My garbage harbor freight jack goes under my car just fine. Just needed two wheels balanced, and they couldn't even do that. What a joke. All while five of their technicians are just standing there with their hands in their pockets. read more

2x burned at this location. Burn one (2017) had to pay them to take my locked tires off my car b/c they could not find the key. I was at work could not leave, needed car inspected so I gave them permission even though I KNOW I put the key in the cup holders. Told them that, they swore they were not there and when I picked the car up that night guess what, lock release was in the cup holder. PISSED! Move to 2018 and need my state inspection. Told yep drop it off tomorrow you will be first in line. Get it all cleaned out, take it up there, next morning get a call ah we don't have an inspector here today. WTF? Dude you just told me YESTERDAY you would so I should drop my car! NOT HAPPY, not going back I do not need 3 strikes and your out 2 is enough. read more

I noticed a flat tire on Sunday evening. I left my car key in the overnight drop and the tire was fixed first thing Monday morning. I was not charged for the nail removal and repair. They recommended a tire alignment. I am unemployed right now and so fortunate to have found a place that takes care of folks in such a trustworthy manner. The earlier bad review seems pretty frantic, but I agree completely that I mistrust this place. I am new to Richmond (and VA) and went here three times. After the first visit, I knew this was not a place that I found trustworthy. The only reason that I gave them two more chances was my newness to the neighborhood and the Goodyear name. My first visit was on my second day in Richmond because the muffler/exhaust pipe gave out on the drive to RVA. I would have fixed it myself, but I had a week of unpacking boxes planned. On top of the fact that they were a bit pricey, they had a laundry list of other maintenance recommendations. The car was a 2007 Nissan Versa that is in fantastic condition, and they went looking for problems. When the muffler/exhaust pipe was cracked or broken, that was a pretty clear objective for what needed repaired. On every visit (no exaggeration), they create an enormous list of recommended repairs. Some were as pathetically simple as an air filter change (which was not dirty, I replace them on my own). Some were potential fixes that wouldn't really don't need to be done until after actually breaking. Other things were superfluous, but reasonable (like changing brake fluid, unless you want to call that superfluous too). I am somewhat convinced that they failed my older car (a 2000 Honda Accord) on the state inspection on something questionable just to get a repair out of me. And some were downright rude (asking my wife to upgrade to synthetic oil after coming in with a coupon for a standard oil change). I warned her that they'd push the higher priced service. I am sure they would have made the recommendation to me if had brought the car in. But I'm sure they could spot how naive my wife is when it comes to cars and auto repair, and they surely made it sound like synthetic oil was the only way to truly care for a car. Overall, I believe the staff are extremely nice and knowledge, but they are expected (by management or company policy I'd guess?) to present you with ten repairs in hopes that one of them will sound like a good idea. I really felt that they wanted every tiny imperfection to seem capable of creating a crisis. I find this behavior to be skeevy, which was enough for me to seek a trustworthy place. I am not an expert on cars, but I know when someone is telling me in a straightforward manner that a repair should be seriously considered. Richmond might be a big city, but I anticipate that I can find the "small town, trustworthy mechanic" vibe that I have always enjoyed. After reading some yelp reviews for other place, I think I have found two places that will be reliable. Halls Tire and Auto on Dickens Rd and Wallace Automotive on W Broad are the two places I will patronize. I have been to Wallace once, and both sounded legit on the phone. It is too early to know for sure about them, but I am done with Goodyear forever. read more

I have been going to this Goodyear location for years and recently found out that an employee in my workplace left a bad review despite this shop always helping out my workplace's delivery drivers. This shop has never been anything other than helpful to me, and their work, as observed by myself as home mechanic, has almost always proved to be adequate if not excellent. I could not ask more from a national chain tire and service location, as I do not expect dealership-level understanding of the specifics regarding my vehicle. read more

Waited three hours, during which I called and was blatantly lied to that it was "almost done"-returned to find that they had not even pulled it off the parking lot yet. Was given a free oil change if I came back during a week later and made an appointment. I made an appointment online and drove over on my donut tire. They were able to patch my tire for FREE! It only took 30 min. Beware this Auto shop. I've taken my car in there multiple times and every time they call me, they tell me there is something wrong. This last time did me in. I went in for a simple oil change. They call me up to tell me that I have a nail in my Front Right tire, but its on the shoulder (a spot that cant be repaired), and that'd I'd need to buy a new tire. Ok. Fine. I bought the tire. I was headed out of town when I picked up my car and didn't think to even look at my tires. Lets fast forward 2 1/2 weeks. I notice my tire pressure is low on my back left tire. I go to put air in it and hmm...thats odd. This tire looks brand new! I looked at the Front Right Tire, and its still my old tire and missing a valve stem cap. Weird. So what? They changed the wrong tire? I call The shop up this morning and tell them I just bought a tire 2 1/2 weeks ago and it isn't holding air. They tell me to bring it in. I told them it was the back right tire and that I think they changed the wrong tire last time. I dropped my car off at 9:55am. 4:00pm rolls around and I have yet to hear anything. I call them up and asked if my car was ready and they said oh yea....sorry about that, Its ready. You need to pick it up no later that 4:45. What the hell!?!? So I go pick up my car and they charge me 38.00 to plug the tire. Still outraged I pay and head home. I look over my papers from the previous time I was there and the tread shows that they did in fact change the back right tire. So Not only did they change the wrong tire...but you pretty much lied to me and told me I had a nail in my front tire...then change the wrong one. Then on top of that, I have to pay for you to patch or plug a brand new tire I just bought 2 1/2 weeks ago. How do I know the tire wasn't sealed properly around the rim and that's why it was leaking? This is such a shady and untrustworthy business. I've had other coworkers and clients say how shady this place was. Not only will I never come back, but I will tell ALL of my clients about my experience. I work in the salon industry and see multiple clients a day. Word does travel fast. read more

They don't even deserve 1 star. Worst service ever. It takes about 6 hours to get an oil change. I took my car in at 10:00, called at 3:00 and they had JUST gotten to my car. I even made an appointment, what's the point if they won't get to it for hours? They also try to convince you that something else is wrong with your car to get your money. Don't fall for it! The people were very friendly, however incompetent. I got my car pressure tested and they told me the head gasket was blown. Good thing I got a second review because otherwise I would have had to scrap the car. It ended up just being blockage in the coolant system which is a VERY easy and inexpensive fix. Goodyear suggested I go to a partner shop to get my engine replaced which would have meant my car was totaled and would have to be junked. So either they are scam artists or just plain incompetent. read more
