I noticed I had a flat tire at 630pm the night before a holiday on my work van. I couldn't wait until After the holiday to get it fixed because I had to be on a job site early the morning after the holiday. I called them and they said if I could leave it they'd take care of me on the holiday. I did go online and reserve tires and an appointment just incase. I dropped it off at 9am, Janice was very helpful and gave me a great price. I decided to change all 4 tires and get an alignment because I was due anyway for new ones. I had my tires changed, wheel alignment and brakes fixed. The staff was courteous and did an excellent job to ensure that my vehicle was returned to me in tip top shape. They also gave you insight into what they were working on and the length of time it would take to complete the job.The time was a bit excessive but sometimes you will have to wait to achieve excellent service. some aspect of the work was costly but the manager utilized the good year discount which was a plus for me. So far I am impressed and i like the fact that their goal was to return my vehicle to me after test driving for safety. i think they have an amazing staff. Well done. read more

I'm going to state the facts, and people can form their own opinions. I took my car in for an inspection. A man named Joe came out with a list of 7 things that were wrong with my car. He crossed out the bottom four, and pointed to the top three items on the list that my car needed to pass inspection. The right front high-beam, the license plate light, the third brake light. I had recently replaced my front headlight, so I knew my high-beam bulb itself was OK. I told Joe to fix the license plate light, and the third brake light. Joe came back and said that my check engine light came on during inspection, and that it was due to an exhaust leak. He recommended a muffler guy of his. I paid for my inspection, the two lights, and went home to trouble shoot my high-beam light issue. Upon troubleshooting my high-beam issue, I found that it was a blown fuse. As I had the fuse box opened, I noticed that there was a 10 amp fuse that had been loosened in the slot of the emissions sensor. I re-connected the fuse, turned on my car, and noticed that my check engine light was gone. read more

I have to agree with many of the negative reviews. They try to upsell any possible "fix" they can. Don't fall for it. I took my car in for an oil change. I had purchased a three year wheel alignment plan when I bought tires. I was told today that the wheel alignment couldn't be done because I needed lower control arms. I said I'll have my mechanic look. Then all of a sudden I needed rear brakes. Once again, I'll have my mechanic look. Then I needed a new lug stud. I did, but I said I'll have my mechanic look. I went right to my mechanic. I DIDN'T NEED REAR BRAKES. THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS ARE FINE SO THE WHHEL ALIGNMENT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE. He did fix my lug stud. Guess they get paid on commission. If i could give this place a 0 i would. Avoid this place at all costs. I've been going here for around 3 years now because my Honda Accord has thin tires so I go through a lot. They sold me on the tire protection ($60 to replace any tire). That's what they originally told me. Apparently tread is not included. It costs $800 to change two tires with low tread. I've done that about three times now. I have spent over $4,000 here as a loyal customer on things I did not need. Today was the last time I ever come here. A year ago in august, they told me my rim was bent and I needed to pay $200 to fix it. I blindly said okay because they said it was severe and unsafe. Today, when I took my car in for a tire replacement, they tell me the same rim they "fixed" last year is severely bent. I said you have to be mistaken because I know you guys fixed it last year but said it would be bent a little but no longer to the point of being unsafe. She said no this is a new bend. YOU REMEMBER MY RIM BEND FROM A YEAR AGO?!?! I've had it. They don't care for loyal customers, they don't care for how much they're asking for, and their wait time is hours long. Avoid this place! I walk in and before I can even say anything the woman looks upset like she hates her job. I told her that I need a new tire and before I can finish my sentence she says she has no estimated wait time. I asked her what that means? It can be 1 day, 2 days, 1 week? She says she doesn't know. Then she says she doesn't know if they have the tire and even if they have the tire they don't know if they can change it. She says I have to wait 35 minutes so she can find out if they have it or can work on it. 35 minutes so I can see if I have the privilege of letting them work on my car but even after I wait it may take an undisclosed period of time to get the work done. Avoid this place !! I was given an estimate of 1995.00 for tires, brakes and alignment, which was ridiculous to say the least. I was able to get most of it done for 600.00, I then brought my new tires to get balanced, mounted and wheels aligned. Which was done, then I noticed that when I slowed down to 60mph I had a problem of shaking in my steering wheel. I spoke with the lovely woman at the counter, who said that this is common when the balancing is incorrect. I then brought it back in to have them fix it, I made an appointment with Joe to have it done at 2:30, when I got there Joe was like I dont think we can do it today. What was the point of an appt? He then managed to get it done as long as I did not mind waiting. At this point all is well. I pick up the car and now it is WORSE, now it shakes continuously at 40mph. Joe admits the balancing was off, but..... there is a "possible belt shift" on my new tire and an issue with a rim. Hmmm this on my rim and tire, that had no problems before they fixed it. He has no time to try and resolve the problem, nor does he acknowledge that they did anything wrong. Seriously ??? Im pretty sure if your car comes out worse than it went in, then there is a problem with your repair. He basically said unless I buy a tire and rim he can not fix it. Really ?? Im pretty sure he was pissed that I had all of the other work done for 1/3 of the price he quoted me. He told me I have someone else that can fix it so go to them. No problem, reimburse me the money you charged me and I will be happy to never deal with you again. I brought my car to a neighborhood tire guy who moved the front tires to the rear tires $20.00 he said this should solve the "tire BS and rim BS" he tried to blame faulty workmanship on, and my tire guy thinks it might be the rotors on the brakes causing this problem. By the way Joe finally said he could balance my tires 10x and get different results, hmm so can we say that this was a bad result ? Although I just caught him in a small admission that its possible they caused the new problem, he insists that if I dont buy a rim and a tire, he cant fix it. I just wanted it fixed, but nope, has no time to fix it unless I leave it for the day, somewhere in the near future, because he is so busy. First impressions are everything. I made an appointment for an oil change online and showed up to check my car in. I say good morning to the middle-aged woman at the counter. She replies "I'm still waking up". I give her my name and car information and tell her I just want a basic oil change with conventional oil. She tells me no, "you gotta get the (much more expensive) synthetic oil change". I tell her that's not true and she debates me like she knows my car better than me. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"? Valvoline Oil Change has been using conventional oil without fail for years in my car. I said "no thanks, I'll go elsewhere". NEVER, EVER GOING BACK. They try to upsell you the second walk in. Stand your ground. There are other choices and this is likely why THEY are not as busy as Mavis next door. read more

This review is a little late, but since this location does not participate in BBB, I'm forced to write the review here. I dropped my 2005 Ford Focus off to have the brakes checked out. Their website clearly states that overnight drop off is allowed, however, they told me I had to come in to sign something before they would even touch my car. This was difficult since I work a lot and had a narrow window to drop off my car. Then when I connected with them again, they back tracked and said that was not the correct information, they would look at my car without obtaining a signature. This made me really irk and feel disappointed having been loyal to Goodyear for many years at many different locations. I needed new front brake discs rotors with pads and rear brake drums with control arm bush and outer tie rods along with a wheel alignment. Basically a huge brake job. At first they quoted me for $1,600, which included an oil change and safety inspection. Because I had a Goodyear credit card, they got it down to $1,479.74. This is an insane price for brakes... but because they forced me to believe it could not leave Goodyear because it would not pass inspection I felt like I was forced to go ahead with the repair even though I still had almost 1.5 months left on my inspection sticker. I dropped off my car on Saturday night, but the technician that works on brakes was not available till Monday, so they said they would finish it by early afternoon Monday. I told them that I needed it done by 4pm at the latest since I had a second job to go to. They did not complete this until 6pm, making me very late for my 2nd job. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but it was just icing on the cake of just an overall horrible experience with this location's Goodyear. After all was said and done, I decided to call other Goodyear's in the area to get quotes because I really believed I was taken advantage of and overcharged (labor alone was $655.20). Sure enough I was overcharged by $500, I got 3 quotes from surrounding Goodyear's that gave me prices between $700 and $900. Basically I'm really disappointed and sad that I was persuaded to do the repair without an opportunity to call for other quotes so Goodyear at Freeport could at least match the quote. Note to future people, make sure you get quotes from other Goodyear locations in the area before accepting work from this location. read more

I would first like to thank Joe Ancona (Freeport Store Manager) for a job we'll done and some of the best customer service I have ever received! I originally went to Goodyear for a vehicle inspection knowing that the Goodyear tires on our Jeep Liberty were the original tires and would need replacement if not that day, in the very near future. The technician assigned to our vehicle preformed a very thorough inspection and in addition to our vehicle needing tires, he advised that the brakes were worn and needed replacement to make the vehicle once again safe to drive. I also worked with Kevin Farley (Assistant store manager) regarding the work needing to be done and the pricing who also was very professional and friendly. Prior to any work being done, Kevin, Joe & I visually inspected my vehicle together and it was obvious that the tires and brake pads/rotors needed to be changed immediately! As you would suspect this was not going to be an inexpensive repair but I felt after a little friendly negotiation I received a fair deal and authorized the work be done. Like everyone else I too would like to make the best (cheapest) deal but parts and labor do cost money and like any business they are in it to make a profit. After replacing the brakes/rotors and mounting the rims with new tires, one of the wheel-locks shattered as they were placing the rims back on the car leaving a portion of the lock on the stud:-( The portion left was within the recessed area of the lug nut hole and was a BIG issue since it was unaccessible. The Goodyear technician worked very hard trying to remove this broken piece without damaging my alloy wheel or the stud but without success. After hours of trying that day (and the following day) they finally needed to use a torch to remove the broken piece on the stud which damaged the rim and hub stud badly. Since our vehicle was there again the following day without my presence, Joe Ancona kept me updated by telephone which was greatly appreciated. My first concern was to have the car repaired but in the back of my mind I was concerned about who would be paying for this repair and discussed it with Joe. Joe advised me that this was not a good situation for his shop but his #1 priority was that our vehicle was repaired correctly so we would continue to be "Goodyear Satisfied customers" and he would do whatever needed to satisfy us. Later that day I received a call from Joe and he advised that the repair was done and to please come down and pick up the vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle, it was completely repaired with a new rim (YES...A NEW RIM), new hub stud and new lug nuts with a total due for the wheel lock repair reading $0.00. We all know that every business has negative issues but most reviews normally only address the negatives and not positive ones like this so felt it was my responsibility to post this positive review. I would once again like to commend Joe Ancona and Kevin for their great customer service and their responsibility to protect the great reputation of the Goodyear Tire Company. The guy tells me appointments are meaningless and it's kinda like a doctors office. Really Goodyear is like a doctors office. There was no one at the reception desk to greet you, and I heard someone shuffling papers around in an office behind the desk, so I kept trying to get their attention, with no luck. I kept asking "Is anyone working here? Can someone assist me?" Nothing!! Amazing that I could hear them flipping papers, but they couldn't hear me...?? Clearly I should have yelped Goodyear before I took my car here. This is unreal. I usually go somewhere else to get my car worked on but it was last minute. I was in a hurry and needed to get my breaks done. Got charged almost 1000 for that. Only to continue to have issues with them. I came back a little while later. They claim that there was a defect. Ok cool. It's under warranty so go ahead and fix it. 4 HOURS LATER i Get my keys and get handed an insane estimate and long list of crap that needed to be done. I ended up going to my usual place to get my oil changed. They tell me the last time they saw my car nothing was wrong with it. First thing out their mouth..."you went somewhere else didn't you? What the hell did they do to your car?!?!? They completely messed it up!" Mind you, when I drove out of Goodyear the second time...IT WAS STILL MAKING THE SAME NOISE as it was before I got the breaks done the first time! So I take it back A THIRD TIME...the only reason I'm here again is because of this warranty. I have been here for 4.5 hours so far. All I did was ask them to LOOK at the damn car. They tell me there's a new problem. Which is another 200 to get fixed...which I'm sure I can go anywhere else and get that done cheaper. And then they're talking about getting my lug nuts or something replaced?! Give me a break. It's one thing after another. Worst car place in history. Over priced. Take forever. I have never written a bad review before this and tried my best to resolve this with the store directly before posting this review. In my opinion, you should avoid this store. I had a dispute with this store over the verbally quoted price of repair and their attitude was very disappointing. I am very sorry that I did not go to another store, I was foolish and want to prevent others from having a similar experience. Rather than trying to resolve an innocent misunderstanding, the store personnel treated me with contempt, scorn sarcasm, and disrespect. They simply decided that I was the problem. Additionally, prior to posting this review I contacted Goodyear Corporate for assistance in resolving this issue. I informed Goodyear Corporate of the dispute and they simply replied with the same party line started by their service managers. I am very disappointed with Walt, Dennis, Seymour and every other service manager they have. These guys need to vastly improve their procedures in dealing with unhappy customers. I sincerely hope that they find a way to improve the quality of their customer service. read more
