This store has the biggest square feet of any Goodwill in Arizona that I can remember being in. It is very cluttered, so if you are looking for something in particular, I think you will find the biggest selection of what you want at any Goodwill. I was pleased I found a Hoover Windtunnel at this store. The merchandise is expensive. For example a halogen floor lamp is priced at $24.95 at this Goodwill, when I got same floor lamp for $9.95 at Scottsdale Pavilions Goodwill. It had a matching pair. On top of that both $9.95 lamps were the color (green) that particular week, that was 50% off. The one at this Goodwill was wobbly and warped, and still priced at $24.95. They had the halogen bulbs, already in the lamp, when most of them are missing the long bulb, which is increasingly hard to find, cos these lamps have been discontinued for maybe 30 years, because they get so hot, the curtains catch fire. I am giving it 3 stars cos it seems so cluttered, disorganized, and the things I touch are dirty. read more

I will never donate here again! We had 2 SUV's full of stuff. I witnessed the employee shaking her head like she was irritated. Didn't lift a hand except to get new bins to put the bags and boxes in. After our first car was unloaded we started on the other. I said good morning and she wouldn't even acknowledge me. I normally avoid this location as there is a lot of riff raft in the parking lot. I did stop by and the store was pretty busy. Cleanliness was normal goodwill and of course bathrooms locked. This location charges 10cents a bag?!!? Wtf your profit on donated items doesn't necessitate charging for bags. (The most recent annual report is shown in the pics) they made over 100 million in profit that didn't "go back into the community" the CEO makes enough quite a sizable salary. Most people shopping in goodwill are not flippers. Stop charging more for used items given to you for free than what I can buy new at walmart or on Amazon. read more

All the stars to the Gentleman working in the Drive-Thru. You can tell he has experienced some hardships in life, yet his personality & words of affirmation was a blessing to receive while I donated. His little dancing pep in his step was a treat to watch while he carefully handled the items & bring me the receipt. I am a fan of Goodwill for the good work they do. I frequently donate and also buy items that I give away to people who I know need the items. However, I am so disappointed at the condition of this particular store. Dirty, clothes all over the floor, and unorganized. There were street people laying around clearly in another dimension of consciousness. I feel badly but it was quite intimidating to shop when one is being stared down. My husband who is not afraid of much suggested we leave. I hope corporate Goodwill reads the reviews here and makes a visit to evaluate the current situation and make the necessary changes. read more

I had a car load of quality items that I was dropping off to them, that included household items(Pyrex), pictures, large amount of clothes, some of which still had the price tags on them, etc. well I had told the gentlemen who was helping me to unload that some of the boxes had breakables in them. To which he replies, just throw them in the bins. I repeated to him about the breakables, but he just starts throwing the boxes anyway. You can obviously hear the items breaking. I just could not believe that they don't care. I get some people send in crap! But does not matter! I loved shopping at several Goodwill locations for over a dozen years. I've donated thousands worth of clothing - because i'm a bit of a hoarder lol. And i've shopped every now and then for special styles all my life. What I hate about Goodwill is the fact that their PRICES began SKY HIGH last year! $10 shirts. $30 dresses. Nothing is under $4 anymore. Its so greedy of them to overprice (used) clothing. I live in Scottsdale now - Today I have to donate 3 large boxes of clothes (decluttering my home once again) and thought to myself hell no because over charging for stained and worn out clothing is not helping the Community. I was hunting all Goodwill locations in the area for "picnic" baskets for my son's first birthday. Baskets can be expensive, especially for a one time use, so I was hoping Goodwill would pull through and sure enough, they DID! I got 8 baskets amongst all of the locations but THIS location had the golden treasure! They had a very large vintage basket that was just PERFECT for the party! I got 5 baskets at this location and spent under $20. Normally, ONE basket would be $20 new. Yes, please! It was clean, the staff was super friendly, and friends, if you're in need of an ugly holiday sweater, hit up a Goodwill! Recently roadtripped to Phoenix, popped in here for extra layers for hiking when a winter storm front unexpectedly came in. Location is okay compared to other GW, not particularly organized or well stocked. Pricing was all over the place, grabbed a few sweaters $6-8 each but found several items that should not even be on sale (too damaged) that were priced over $10. Furniture, books, and homegoods sections were surprisingly well stocked and fairly organized. Bathroom was locked/inaccessible the whole time we were here and staff interaction was minimal. read more

Female with blue hair is uneducated, incompetent and lacks professionalism in any form. She was insulting and argumentative and need basic customer service. She really needs to work in the back. I have personally managed a Goodwill in 2005. I will follow through with speaking to local management and Corporate Management. She has poor Customer skills. She was very abusive to me after spending over $300 this week. She actually said for me not to come back. I turned around and said ( because I hear them say that when they chase shoplifters out. And I know I spend at least $5000+ a year there. So I said to her no wonder you have so many shoplifters. That way they don't have to deal with you. And you blue hair and appearance is distasteful. I love going to goodwill, it's a great place to find what you can't pay for any other place. that said,they have now removed dressing rooms and as we all know size varies between products and what ever shape we all have. now you have 7 days to return but... not for money but credit so if you try again if it doesn't fit then... round and round you go. never again. I haven't been inside this location yet, but I have been to the drop-off zone approximately a bazillion times. The employees are always there to greet me and help remove anything from my car. I've dropped off clothes, shoes, lamps, dishes, more clothes and anything else that I wanted to donate. I'll definitely visit inside to see what kind of deals I may find. This is an amazing Good Will store. I both donate things to and purchase from this Good Will store. As a single parent, a single mother and a single grandmother, it really helps me in stretching my already tight budget. I check it out once or twice a week and always manage to find some incredible buys. There is a lot of junk, that is for sure, but if one looks carefully, one can find some nearly new or in one case actually new, items. Strongly recommend in a downmarket economy. read more

I went to this Goodwill during the COVID pandemic. I asked to use the restroom they had a key waited for over 15 minutes to use the restroom and they still said they have to get someone to open the restroom I gave up and left. The cashier seemed like she did not give a care went to another cashier and they could careless also saw an without wearing mask. I'm reluctant to review this location since it's where I find all my greatest deals and really, I don't want to share with you. But I will since we're friends. 50% off Saturday's are CRAZY. Be prepared. If you are clostraphobic you should avoid it at all costs. However, you can get smokin' deals on pretty much everything if you're willing to deal with massive crowds. This Saturday I got close to $200 worth of pristine Anne Taylor dresses, slacks, and shirts for about $15 - total. This store is clean and doesn't smell like dead people. A huge bonus in my book. It's well organized and the people that work there are really helpful. One of the better thrift stores in the area by far. read more

I was given one directive for a friend's birthday party: "Wear Pink". Because the guest of honor loves pink. And everything else at her shindig was going to be pink. The food. The beverages. The flamingos. As well as most of the people there after they've been standing around in the sun for a few hours (although I myself become more of a raw umber/burnt sienna type). But I didn't own anything pink. Or even a shirt that was red and white that I could say was pink deconstructed. I'd been working and studying nonstop all weekend and could only be at the shindig for a little while before I had to continue typing away, but I didn't want to be that schlump who showed up in his typical lame black tshirt. So I got in my car, on my way to the party with absolutely no effing idea where I was going to get myself a pink shirt on the fly. My brain was first telling me Macys. And then Mervyns. Scratch that. Mervyns doesn't exist anymore. Target? Too far. Ok, Marshall's. But then I suddenly noticed Goodwill out of the corner of my eye. Somewhere in my brain, the word "Duh" flashed on and off several times. I pulled into the lot and walked in. A lot of commotion inside, but everything pretty well organized. Clothes racks everywhere. Other non-clothes stuff to the sides and back. One woman with at least 15 dresses on her arm, frantically looking like she was buying half the store. Could have been Jessica. You never know. I made a bee-line for the men's shirts. Then a bee-line for the XLs, where I saw everything was organized by color. Awesome. As if to say, "Hi Mr. Man. We know you have no patience for browsing and want to buy one thing and get out of here within 30 seconds. So here, we have organized everything almost monosyllabically just for your convenience: You. Man. Size. Color. Buy. Grunt." Thus I spotted the pinks in no time, found a pink Oxford that didn't look overrun with car grease and ketchup stains, and then looked at the price tag ($6!). Sold. I changed right there in parking lot and came to the party with a pink shirt on, all thanks to Goodwill and my briefest flash of brilliant thinking, and was happily greeted by a birthday girl wearing a bikini and giant pink eyelashes. Which was all good, and I was glad I made the effort, except for the fact it was 5 billion degrees outside and I started rapidly melting. I then looked around. Everyone else was in bathing suits or shorts whereas I, the village idiot, was standing there in jeans and a pink Oxford shirt. But who said Goodwill gave a discount on logic? Four stars read more

I love this Goodwill, it's clean and well organized and they really do make it nice to shop here. The clothes are even color coordinated and in distinct, well organized sections. Their half price events can't be beat for value and it's just the perfect place for the odd thing you find yourself needing now and again, or a good, cheap way to spend a weekend afternoon out of the Phoenix heat. I scored an entire maternity wardrobe from this Goodwill for less than $50. It was all nice, and gently used and would have cost me a few hundred dollars from the maternity store in the mall. SCORE! For the record not all Goodwills are the same. There is another Goodwill at 32nd St and Thomas and it is an utter mess. It smells like mildew and the clothes are falling off the racks, the aisles are jammed with merchandise in disarray and it's just an unpleasant place. I refuse to go to that one when the 16th St. and Indian School location is so close and so much nicer. read more

It depends on what you're looking for I guess. I was putting together a new household and needed housewares and the various crapstuffs to make my house seem more like a home. Also I would have liked to have found some toys and furniture for the boy. It's pretty well picked over, and for the most part priced . . um . . . optimistically. The Goodwills vary greatly from location to location. The store on Chandler Boulevard in Ahwatukee foothills gets some really nice cast-offs. I have a feeling this one on 16th St. is in an area where there's too much competition from other thrifts for good donations, and where shopping thrift stores is so well-accepted that they can still drive their prices up on whatever stuff they get. I think there's a condition in the DSM-IV called "Thrift Store Delusion Complex" wherein people willingly pay prices nearly equal to new and think they're getting a deal. I'm all for helping the disadvantaged, but the idea of a thrift store is . . . ahem . . . thrift. read more

This Goodwill is clean, organized, and the employees are ready to help. It is insane on half off days, but I do look at everything before I leave. I found some great towels, glassware, and artwork this time around. The furniture donations are getting better at this store. I like this Goodwill location. Granted, that's because I haven't been stalked by a creepy Lil Wayne lookalike creeper and I don't buy used furniture that's doubled as the family's toilet. Well, no, that's not just it. I found some really nice clothing items here- like a large selection of designer jeans for $8 (normally) or $4 on 50% off Saturdays. I've scored really cool sailor-ish designer jeans for $1 not once, but twice. I have a major thing for collared shirts and found several nice Loft button up collared blouses that are just the nerdy bee's knees. I think the best thing here has been all the awesome records I found. I doubt they're collectors items, although it's possible to find some good collectable ones, I just haven't found any. I just like listening to records and found a lot of 70s singer/songwriters like Nielson, Carole King, Kenny Loggins, and Carly Simon. Usually when I go here, the records rack would be pretty much wiped out. I think record fanatics know about this location and clean it out before regular people like me can get out of work or school to contend with. Still, sometimes I get lucky. read more

If I could give this place more stars, I would. Aside from the insanity that 50% off Saturday's impose, it's heaven in the (used) retail world. The bonus you may ask that's worthy of more than 5 stars? We bought a pair of pants here once and when my gf got around to wearing them, she reached into the pockets and scored THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS. This happened just before Christmas so I figured maybe I scored some sort of karma related God send. So aside from the obvious deals and cheap finds, we scored big time. Nevermind the Gap, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, LL Bean I found and fell in love with. One even still had the price tag attached. Sweet. Just bring a load of patience with you if you come on one of those 50% off Saturdays. You will need it for the lines and the constant people trying to shove themselves in front of you to score that shirt they think you're going to grab out from under them. I can find good things from time to time, as most Goodwill. However, I was there at one $1 Thursday, when it's supposed to be $1 for all items of specific color tag at noon time, and found that the workers were busy gathering a lot of clothes of that color tag and put them onto the racks behind the check-out counter. I assume that they don't want to sell them to you at Thursday at $1 but rather like you to pay half price at Saturday. I don't know whether this is normal for all Goodwill. JYI read more

I'm being very generous with the stars because I'm still glowing with joy from what I nabbed today. Let me add reason behind my emotions. First, take thrift store shopping for what it is: hit or miss. I know my scouring won't always be successful, but I appreciate the store's organization and massive selection. This is the only Goodwill I've been to that puts any effort in merchandising clothing. Second, understand employees here are not professional buyers from consignment stores. Don't expect them to be brand or quality savvy. I saw several Target brand shirts priced exactly the same as a Ralph Lauren Purple Label button down. I'm guessing there's general pricing guidelines based on what it is (purse, outerwear, etc) and wear and tear. As long as you're aware, this can work to your advantage. Now let me gush about my findings. I pulled up a pristine THEORY eyelet blazer for $8! Wearable for the season and didn't need any tailoring. A 70s-ish and also flawless Covington twofer came out to $3. I picked up a Columbian made vintage leather messenger bag for $4 and a leather Nine West handbag for $2. Both were distressed, but I like that look on my brown accessories. Super happy. read more

It simply isn't a very pleasant place to go and the store is of course not very nice. We just went there to get a picture frame to use as a prop for a party. This sounds really bad and pretentious, but I feel a little yucky after being there. However, if I were dirt poor and less fortunate I would probably feel differently. read more

I went to Goodwill today to donate some stuff and as always, never have a problem! This Goodwill is easy to access from either 16th street or Indian School road and has a huge parking lot so that is no problem either. Dropping off stuff is very easy because their drop off point is on the side, pull up to the garage door and done! their employees that handle the drop off's are always very nice, striking up conversation and more than willing to help unload. Not long ago, I dropped off a hide-a-bed couch which was crazy heavy, and the gentlemen never complained at all about it! They were all to happy to help! Really, just a great bunch of people working there. Now, as for the store part, it is clean and well kept so no complaints there. The staff inside is always nice and friendly. Pretty much standard stuff- same stuff inside all Goodwill stores really. Cloths, miscellaneous house hold items, furniture, knick-knacks and such. Every now and then, I am sure that anyone could find a treasure if you have the time to visit them often enough because of course their inventory constantly changes and is dependent on what is brought in as donations. In all, I have no problem with this location. Easy access, great staff and quick to make donations! read more

Ahh! I went here one day and took a whole 2 hours to go back again! This place was great! I found curtains for my house for a whopping 12 bucks!! (for both panels) And books, games, the whole shebang! Yeah, I agree with Jessica on wanting to save this little secret of mine.. but man oh man!
