Stopped by this location of goodwill and I have to comment how orderly and clean the inside was. Sometimes it is a hit or miss, but this one was a hit. The selection varies since everything is donated but I enjoy seeing what they have and paying attention to the sales. I would definitely go back to this location again. We have been donating here for years due to the convenient location near our home but no more. Today I decided to walk to the donation door and leave my bag in a bin. I asked an employee if it was okay and that I did not need a receipt. This was between cars, I did not interrupt anyone's donation process. One of the employees decided the best thing was to yell at me. He said "Do not cut the line! Don't donate here if you cannot wait in the car line" I understand walking up and dropping it off was not the best approach but to be yelled at in that way was extremely off putting. He could have calmly said, "Next time please go inside and drop off in the store bin, or wait in the car line". My reason for donating is the convenience and giving people a job. This man clearly did not want to work and was having a bad day. I suggest to anyone wanting to find an alternate to try Harvest Compassion Center. read more

Goodwill stores in AZ are a fabulous place to shop and to drop off items you no longer want or need. When we sold our house, we had boxes, and boxes of clothing, books and other items we no longer needed. Even though our new place in Calif was larger, we wanted to start fresh, with a little less baggage. Thus is the lament of many newly retired folk here in the Valley during COVID. This Goodwill and it's sister locations in Scottsdale were the major beneficiaries of that house cleaning. I've read the reviews and yes I would agree, they are certainly not a non-profit. Yes they are a business, a big business. But I found most of their prices to be in line, to what you would find online, say at Ebay. Today, second hand "stuff" is a big big business. Just look at My Sister's Closet. That is Goodwill's competition, along with the likes of Ebay. We've found the service at their backdoor drop off to be both friendly and nice. I can stand how unorganized, dirty and overpriced Goodwill has got. They don't even have dressing rooms available to try on close then when you buy clothes to find out they don't fit right they only refund you with a gift card. Such a scam. This Goodwill location is larger than most GW locations, it's very clean and organized...it's also very pricey for being a "thrift store". The days of hunting for thrifty treasures at bargain prices are long gone. Most of their items are priced higher than what it would cost NEW retail. The Goodwill locations in Arizona have some of the highest prices for second hand goods compared to GW in other regions. They offer an email coupon of 20% off your purchase of $20 or more. LoL! I think they price the free stuff they receive by good, better, and best. Each location pulls anything with any potential value for their ecommerce department (Clearance Center...aka as the "Bins"). I can't comment on the service, I didn't interact with any staff during my visit. I have been to other GW locations where staff were friendly. Nice neighborhood. Plentiful parking. read more

The lady up front had not told me they are only credit returns I am super disappointed and upset because there is no fitting rooms and as soo and me and my daughter lest the shore she had tried them on. Half if them did not work so I went back to get a refund and they did not let me get a cash return the service here is terrible the manager is super unprofessional and flat out rude if you come here don't expect anything more. Busy location. Disscounts are give one a certain color tag, each week. Those items move quickly here. Items are well organized. Shelves and racks are usually full. Limited new mattress, towels and bedding are available. Not much in terms of furniture. This location seems to have even less that other Goodwill locations. Goodwill does charge almost double for books than many of the other thrift stores in the area. Still less than purchasing new. read more

Gather 'round folks while I tell you the story of "The Goodwill Preacher". I am a frequent customer at this Goodwill location; I have also donated items 2-4 times per year over the 14 years we've lived in the area. About 60% of the reason I donate items to Goodwill is convenience; I appreciate how easy they make it to donate goods and when you can literally drive up with a truckload and get help unloading, it's a no-brainer. About 40% of the reason I choose to donate to Goodwill is because I value the job training they provide. I believe they offer a valuable service to the community, providing job training and offering employment that prepares folks with solid skills to become/remain employable and to build on for future employment. I had my first garage sale of the year on Saturday, June 10th, before the real heat sets in, and had a mixture of items leftover; two loads full in my medium sized SUV. As always, I weeded out anything that may need repair and donated only items that someone could actually use as is. I am careful not to send broken or dirty items because that negates the point of donating items to help with Goodwill's programs if they have to spend time weeding out garbage people drop off for them to deal with. I took the 2nd load to this location at about 1:30PM on Saturday and was greeted by a donation employee; an older gentleman waiting with a cart, who I have officially dubbed "The Goodwill Preacher". I always get out and help unload and he was oddly gruff right from the start, not engaging in the questions I was asking, like "should I place this heavy box on top of what you already have in the bin"? He ignored my questions and commented on the weather and what a nice breeze there was, saying "AMEN - don't you agree?" I said it was a nice day in the shade and he again said "AMEN...right???", trying to force me to respond with an "Amen". He then commented on what a "blessing" the breeze was and didn't I agree it "was a blessing?" It was not a friendly small-talk sort of interaction, but a gruff, aggressive manner, all the while staring me down - it was a tactic straight out of the "How to Bully Someone" handbook. He then began to tell me his was the God of light and asked me several times if I agreed. I just wanted to donate and get back to the work I had to complete at home and chose not to engage in what I would now call a verbal assault; I didn't see the point in engaging him directly, as he was obviously a bully who wanted to force me to use words that would parrot his views and faith. I didn't respond and then he began to pressure me saying there was a God of darkness in the world and did I know that? I was getting very irritated by this point at the aggressiveness of his comments and stare-down and said very calmly and politely, "Well...everyone believes differently.", to which he responded, "Well yes they do, but they are wrong.", as he rolled the donation cart into the building to get a second cart. I rolled my eyes and sighed, at which time another employee locked eyes with me and apologized for the "proselytizing". The "Goodwill Preacher" then came out with another cart and I was helping load more of my donations. He was extremely aggressive with the items, not taking care with fragile items and literally - I mean LITERALLY - placed a heavy box on top of a lovely lamp shade and pushed down on top with his hands, breaking the perfectly lovely and usable lamp shade I had just donated to Goodwill (that was attached to a very lovely glass lamp base underneath - goodness knows if that made it to the sales floor!!!) to support their programs; possibly a program he himself benefits from. It was an altogether awful, inappropriate experience and one that reminded me that bullies are everywhere, trying to aggressively force their opinions and beliefs at every opportunity. It was, in every sense of the word, a verbal assault. To the management of Goodwill and the "Goodwill Preacher" employed at this location: if anyone is so insecure about their own beliefs that they have to bully and aggressively try to get validation from random customers donating items, you might want to check yourself and your beliefs. Had this employee been of the Islamic, Buddhist or Mormon faith and been out their preaching to folks, my guess is they would no longer have a job because the more extremist Christians I know would not stand for it! Or what if the employee followed the Church of Satan and was trying to preach that belief to get a random, middle-aged woman donating lamps and dishes and fabric to parrot their personal religious "quotes of faith" as some sort of validation of their beliefs...do you think for one minute they'd still have a job? This behavior is NOT okay for any employee of any business that is not directly associated with a specific church or ministry - PERIOD. HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE - ACTIONS - ARE WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN WORDS YOU SPEAK! read more

Horrible at this location. Very passive aggressive workers. Clothes everywhere. Put back everything because i guess you cant test out items before buying. Kids wanted a ride on toy, made an announcement to "watch your kids, no riding on toys" while we were watching to make sure it even was worth my time/money. This is the most overpriced Goodwill I have ever been to. Each visit their prices get higher. It's consignment store prices but for damaged low quality goods. Some things were priced AT RETAIL price. Might as well go to the mall. I will not be back. Goodwill is full of greed and we are in a climate crisis, they get this stuff for free, there is no reason for items to be the same price as they were retail. You're better off going elsewhere. I went there on Friday and had the worst experience ever. First the stocker was loading DVD and Bluejays. I went to "look" and she gives my friend and I attitude, telling us not to touch anything on the cart. She then goes back to talking to a customer about personal things while I must wait till she's done unloading her cart. Then I noticed that they are charging 6.97 per blu-ray. Last week they were 2.97. The other stores are 2.97. You get these items for free, yet you throw inflation prices at us for items you got donated to you. Items my family and I donate. Savers and desert industries are now getting my business. read more

This is the new Nordys "off the rack". The pricing is atrocious. You are lucky if you find anything priced within anyone's budget. The "seasonal" section is the same price brand new at the store sometimes priced higher because it is "new". The toy bags that used to be .99 are now $7.29!!!!! It was a bag of 4 little people toys I was so shocked that is way more then the store! Dollar day which is now 2 dollar day is a joke they pull all the colors the day before which they are loaded with the sale color because they are charging so much, and if you were waiting for something to be now $2 good luck thay are now scamming you to go and look for nothing they pull it all the day before and early that morning of the sale. No one cares they just blame the new manager and say he picks the prices. They wanted $30 for a kids costume, they aske $20 plus dollars for used used shoes because of the "brand"...ok but if it looks like forrest gump himself ran in them why even charge that much.or put them out for sale?!...again they all blame the manager. I have been to this goodwill for 10 years and I now do not go as much, Kohls with a great coupon and the children's place can easily beat these prices. The furniture you may still be able to get away with a good deal, but again one day could be $40 the next day they are asking $300 for almost the same thing. The resellers that hang around all day if you know you know the lady with the backpack, and all the guys are like roaches when a new cart comes out. This used to be my favorite goodwill, but prices are more than Ross, or a HomeGoods store. I will no longer bring my donations here, I rather give them to someone in need for free than to this place for free so they can charge more than I paid for it. Went to this store yesterday. I feel the low reviews are not fair. I went in to look for a duffel bag to use for weekend trips and found a few choices for only six dollars. While there I also could not pass up the men's clothing which was sorted by color and size with several designer names in my size. Top it off with some sort of sale they were having! I got out of there for less than $12. Very clean and organized. I could not expect any better! read more

I bought a rug from this store with a lot of excitement. My husband and I finally moved to a new home and were looking forward to decorating. I bought a rug from this place for our living room. When I got home and opened the rug, it had a horrible smell. We literally could not enter the room, where the rug was. It smelled like mold and. The customer service was not any help. This is a new location and I am starting to think it is now my favorite one. The prices are marked reasonable compared to some other locations that have gotten a little price happy. This store is actually kept clean... yes it's new but I often see the employees cleaning which is nice. They have chairs throughout the store that you can sit and rest if needed. I love this idea since a lot of seniors also love the Goodwill and they can get fatigued sometimes. This location is organized per item theme: Holiday, kitchen, nicknacks ect. 80% of the items are in good condition and they don't put out broken or damaged items that often. Some other location I have found pants with no crotch... and wanted $5 for them... Kinda insane if you ask me! I have found an item I really wanted but felt it was marked wrong, I could by it new at another store for a $1 more. I questioned them about the price and they discounted it for me. I am not one to frequently ask for discounts but sometimes errors are made in pricing and if you just ask them about it they will usually fix it for you. I must note that I have NEVER gone to any other location that has such outstanding employee's. I don't know if they spike their soda with happy pills or what but they SMILE! It is amazing to me and I enjoy going there. Other locations all I see is frowns and unhappy workers but not this location it's kinda like its not the Goodwill! I find so many things for my craft projects here. It is my first stop now before I hit the craft stores to see if they have anything I need. I am not overly excited about the toddler clothing but everything else is great. If you go to their website you can print a 5% off coupon... if you sign up for their email they send you monthly 20% off coupons. You can also view their calender of events on the website to find out the discount days. Every other weekend they have everything in the store for 50% off minus a few exceptions like food. This Goodwill is in a new area so they tend to get nice items. Back to the subject of employees.... I thought my first smiling encounter was just sheer luck but to my surprise it is every visit. They actually ask you if you need help... they give advise on the good discount days. They engage in short talk while checking out or in the passing of the store. One person even volentered to help me to my car. He saw me with my toddler and a cart full and knew I would not be able to carry it all out myself. I did not ask for help... he just went out of his way to do this for me. Much appreciated! read more

I love this location! First it's big and very clean! The staff is nice and ready to help all the time! One thing I enjoy is the neighborhood. This place gets excellent donations because the neighborhoods surrounding it are upscale nice houses. The housewares section is a little lacking when it comes to vintage kitchen stuff. I never find jewelry boxes here but do find other things like shelf's and what not. They have a huge selection of furniture here! Most of it is priced very fair and it great shape! The thing I love the most here? CLOTHES! They have tons of awesome women's clothes. I have seen Tommy Hilfiger, Express, Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and more. They have great clothes and dresses. I never had much luck in men's clothes but it's hard to find clothes for my BF size. I have not spent much time in kids clothes or toys either so I can't speak on that. However I am going to get my son summer clothes here this week so I will update my post then. When at this GW I never got the feeling someone might stab me to steal my $5 cash because they have more normal customers! Nice clean place that doesn't smell like a used thrift store Those of you that go to thrift stores, know what I mean. Even the changing rooms are clean with no dust bunnies. Nice large store with many good items. We took our granddaughter with us & bought mostly dresses for her. Prices seemed reasonable ($1.99-$5.99 per dress). We were also searching for baby clothes but were a little disappointed to find those items lacking. We were able to enjoy a senior discount & heard about a program to get a further discount for shopping at their store for the local community. We are from Dayton, OH and our Goodwill does not offer that type of program. In fact, they have a military program in our area but only one store offers it. Clothes were clean, organized well and we had lots of room to peruse. Our trip to the rest room was fine too. It was pretty clean & had all the necessary items needed. We did have one dress with no tag on it & our checkout person went & put a tag on it so we could purchase it. They do not do that in our area. We would have been told to come back the next day to purchase it. Overall a pleasant experience - even though we were shopping with my husband. read more

I've found some good quality stuff here. If you have the time and patience, definitely stop by during their every other Saturday sale. It's worth it. I've been to a lot of thrift stores and this one in particular is one of the best I've been to. Its clean, well organized, and has a friendly staff. I've found many great items at super cheap prices. Their books used to be organized like itd be in a library but the person that did that retired earlier in the year. They were then all jumbled up for a while but have gradually been organized. read more

Never walkout empty handed when I shop at this Goodwill. I always find something and the prices are solid (prices at other locations are overpriced ) The place is clean and organized. DUSTY the manager ROCKS , she is friendly and the rest of the staff are smiling and chatty and seem to actually like working there. They make you feel welcome and aren't grouchy like some other locations . I hit this place up atleast 4 days a week and have NEVER had a bad experience . read more

I love this Goodwill store. It's big, clean, and the staff members are cordial, and nice. This Goodwill has dollar day on Thursdays, which means whatever the color tag of the week is, it's a buck on that day. I picked up a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, and a cute t-shirt, both for a dollar each! I love that. The Goodwill in Corvallis, Oregon doesn't do this and wished they would. You move a lot of inventory when things become a dollar. The only other thrift store I frequent is Savers on Bell. On Wednesdays, they give seniors 30% discount on everything, and 25% discount on Fridays...I like this concept of moving inventory. More thrift stores should consider doing this type of sales. read more
