I recently stopped here to look around and see what kind of stuff was offered here. The layout of this location was exactly the same as the Bolingbrook location. Featured a moderate selection of items that I was looking for. I even found an item I've been looking all over for shockingly which was a Minnesota Twins had and very good condition. Dressing rooms and the restrooms here were not too bad at all. Some staff members are very nice while other ones were just antisocial. I was disappointed that this location last a lot of mens coats. They always have the best clothes for good prices. Customer service is great, store is clean and organized.

So, we have an autistic son that obsesses on watching a VHS tape. His VCR broke and it was our spare. We scrambled to try and find one. (He becomes frustrated and acts out when this happens) Called around everywhere, nobody had one. Called the Lake Zurich Goodwill and the guy on the phone (Eric) refused to see if they had one on the shelf. Drove out there 30 minutes to find out they did not have one. I realize people don't think of a broken VCR as an emergency, but it is for us. Even after explaining the guy refused. Worst customer service I've run into in a long time. He claimed it was their policy to not check stock for customers on the phone. read more

Your prices are ridiculously high for USED items that sometimes are falling apart. Also, PLEASE STOP putting that nasty clear tape over everything. It ruins the items being purchased. Don't come here shopping for music on CD or on vinyl. They arbitrarily raise the price on vinyl, which is OK I guess because there's a demand for it right now. But they're doing the same on compact discs. No longer are they $.99. If they see a name that they recognize, they jack it up to $1.99 or more. So today I saw the Bee Gees and Brittany spears for $1.99. This means that they have someone that has a point of them Selfs the music czar here. Someone who has a point of them self important enough to determine what good music is and what bad music is. Quite frankly, after looking through the stacks, they don't have a clue. Just more garbage to deal with when shopping at the store. I understand that they have a nice skybox that they have to pay for at Miller Park, but you're sticking it to your customers here. I would advise not to look here for music. read more

What a clean and well organized store. This is not your typical Goodwill Center. The housewares looked washed and clean. Lamps and other household goods were also clean and in order on the shelf. No strange thrift store smell. I didn't look at the clothing. But I did see an employee sorting through and pulling empty hangars. This isn't exactly in my neighborhood. But is worth a drive. Watch what they scan! I got a charged extra stuff I didn't even purchase. It equal too $4.50 not a big deal I would of gladly donated it. They didn't have to scam me. It was my fault cause I wasn't paying attention. On a good note they have good stuff. The store is clean and the staff is super friendly. read more

I observed a man attempting to return a DVD player that didn't work. Apparently Goodwill gets SO MANY donations that they don't have time to see if they work. You're just supposed to buy it then lose your money if it doesn't work. The man told the manager that this is stealing & I totally agree. I won't be shopping at Goodwill anymore. read more

Goodwill is a rip off. The prices that they tag items with is extremely high for things they get for free. As a non-for profit, check online what their CEO and executives earn. It's criminal and should be against the law. but it is not. They pay their workers pittance, get items for free, and charge exorbitant prices for very well used items. I suppose I should write a review for this Goodwill location since I frequent it all the time. As a teacher, I come here to find goodies for my classroom all the time. I usually find steals! I buy a ton of children's books here. My students tend to color on everything or try to eat it, so at 50 cents a book I am not that upset if it gets ruined. The same goes for stuffed animals. I have found some super cool ones for 50 cents here as well that my students love to snuggle up with! This location is always very clean and the service is top notch! I come back a lot because obviously the merchandise is constantly changing. One of my tricks is I look in the bin of stuff that they are bringing out before they even shelve it. I just wish they gave teacher discounts. They give senior discounts and student discounts though! read more

I am an environmentalist. I take the three R's seriously. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle, But I have to admit that shopping at second hand stores can sometimes be an unpleasant experience. Many times these stores are unorganized and smelly. But not this store. This store is organized like a Marshall's or TJ Maxx! They have everything- including arts and crafts supplies. What a find. Admittedly, I am not big on arts and crafts nor do I have a big need for books or costumes. Unfortunately, that translates into my experiences here not being as stellar as previous reviewers. Don't get me wrong, I've bought a few things here and there. But nothing worth shouting out over. And I've noticed their prices for merchandise - especially the Target donations - are higher than other locations. But the store is large, clean, and well-organized. Definitely one of the best Goodwill Stores out there! It's always very clean and well organized, plus the clothes selection is always awesome. Here are some awesome finds I found here: Brand new Vans Sneakers - $10 American Apparel Sweater - $4 Levi's 511 Jeans - $6 Brand new H&M Pants - $5 and much more. Honestly I'm really cheap and selective when it comes to thrifting. Most of the time I won't get an item if it's over $5. But this store has so many brand-new-like items that I just have to get. When ever I thrift, I feel like I am robbing business by getting their clothes for so cheap, but in reality I'm just dressing high fashion for 1/10th of the price. This place is exactly what other reviewers have said. Overprice and a rip off. I visit this location after visiting the location in Addision. I wanted to compare prices and see what they had to offer. Everything was listed $6.99 and $9.99. How are you charging people these prices when you get the stuff for free. Just went to this Goodwill and left very angry. I saw a 2 similar pieces of artwork 1 was priced $2.99 & the other $9.99. I asked the manager about the differences in the pricing. She said that the $2.99 piece was a mistake and that if I wanted to buy it, the price would be $9.99 at checkout. I also asked about 2 bookends, why they were priced separately. The answer was not a very satisfactory answer either. I thought that Goodwill was a not for profit store & found out that isn't the case. I will never donate to Goodwill ever again. The prices were high, the management not educated enough to understand the questions & a total lack of custoner service has soured me from shopping here. I have heard that one of the owners (yes owners) drives a brand new Bentley. So much for not for profit!!!! read more

This location always has plenty of great, high-end items. The only downfall of this location is the pricing. Old school locations sell t-shirts for $2.99 a piece, places like this location jack up the prices for name brand clothing such as Nike, Banana Republic, and Ralph Lauren to $7. Other than that, this location is very clean and has a great selection. Faculty here is always kind and informative of deals. Visit here for a great thrifting experience! read more

Goodwill really does differ from place to place. This location is a great store because of it's large size and quality of products. It is always well organized as well. During the holidays, they do a great job of putting together sections for decor/clothes/costumes, etc. It is a great place to find clothes for DIY costumes. I've found some awesome pieces here. Kids and adult books are well stocked as well. I even found some awesome books from the 80's that I grew up with. Oh, nostalgia! Staff here are friendly and helpful, even when the line gets long. This goodwill is deserves a 5 stars through and through. Trust me and i have bern to Many goodwills across states. 1. Open until 9pm where most goodwills closes by 8 2. Mondays and sundays 50% off 1 color of price tags (this way not implemented at other goodwills i've been to) 2 clean and very organized, bathroom even scented 3. Massive selection of dresses 4. Well lit and ample fitting rooms 5. Efficient checkout clerks(not the case at the mundelein goodwill) 6. Courteous staffs. Whereas other locations the staffs are just plain weird and hard to deal with. 7. In a shopping center with best buy, walmart and restaurants, so very comvenient location! Will be back!! read more

This store was extremely disappointing. I tried to exchange an item, tags still on but no receipt. I was actually trying to exchange it for a more expensive item and they refused bc i didnt have a receipt. I understand policies but its incredibly disappointing when a store whose mission is to help people wont help people. I make multiple donations a year and always round up at checkout. From now on my donations will be going elsewhere read more

I usually like coming here, but lately there has been some changes that I particularly don't like. Some of the prices are higher for what reason???? for example soft cover book use to be 50 cents now their 99cents huh? I bought a really big flashlight for 1.99 took it home and it was broken not working at all. Took it back and the manger says it was suppose to be 14.99, turns out the 14.99 was written on the bottom. It was eligible I didn't see it and the cashier didn't notice. Very friendly staff. Great weekly promotions. I was there looking for used books and found so many craft ideas.

New to thrifting and so far, this is my favorite location with respect to all things you would look for in any retail location. Customer service - wonderful - staff is really friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well organized. Prices are good - not sure why everyone is complaining about the prices ... they seem pretty decent to me. I've shopped at most of the local Goodwill stores and so far, I've had the best luck here. read more

I've been hesitant on giving away this gem for a bit! It's fabulous- the people are friendly and it's one of the most organized Goodwill's I've ever been to. It's huge so be prepared ! I bought some furniture a couple of days ago. I could not pick up on time due to a death in my family. One of the store manager Rich was very sympathetic, and held my furniture until I can make it there to pick it up. Very nice staff at that location. Rick or Rich is a good guy! read more

Do enough digging in here and you're sure to find some treasure. I've found tons of designer jeans, shoes, CDs and accessories for extremely cheap. Hit or miss on variety but definitely you will find what you need here. read more

I love me some Goodwills, and this one is my absolute favorite. I always find books and great work pants here on the cheap, and also found my matching coffee table/end table here ($15 for both) for my new apartment. Their merchandise is very reasonably priced; some Goodwills in the NW burbs can be overpriced, but not here! read more

I love this Goodwill. They were super helpful when we made a mistake. This Goodwill has a donation center, and my family donated a lot. In the midst of the massive donation, (it was everything from our grandparents house that they didn't want any more, as they were moving) we accidentally dropped off a pedal car that was expensive, and my family still wanted it. My dad called the center the same day, once we realized what happened. They were very accommodating, and took my dads name and set it aside. We came and were able to pick it up free of charge. They gave us the pedal car back, and allowed us to fix the family miscommunication. Thank you Goodwill for giving us a chance to fix our mistake!!! read more
