WINGS Resale is my favorite donation center in the area. They take all types of donations from clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories, home decor, furniture, and more. It's easy to drop off donations at their back door which is separate from the store entrance. All items are organized, priced, and resold in the store. Walking around, resale items are very fairly priced and in good condition. Their profits from the store go toward supporting families fleeing domestic violence. We love that WINGS supports women and children. So, when we have things to donate, this is usually our first choice. I don't think I've ever been in their retail store before, but have dropped off goods many times over the years. We're purging our house of 20 years of accumulated stuff. When you arrive, they have a door for dropping off donations. We've given them clothes, nick-nacks, paintings, glassware, and more. They take everything with a smile. We'll continue to drop off merchandise as we have it. And, perhaps next time we go I'll stop into their store. The reviews are certainly good. read more

This place has changed dramatically since Charlie left. Sales woman was rude to me. Overheard me talking to my husband about the insane high prices she interrupted me and put her phone in my face showing the selling value and said look here our price is better, I said your items are donated. Bigggg difference. Assumed I was a senior and suggested I come on senior day. Rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been donating for over 10 years to this place and I'm not going to ever again. This is a great place to donate/drop off unwanted lightly used home-goods, furniture, books, clothes and jewelry that you no longer use or need. They have a resale shop that then sells the items and uses the money to help a womens domestic violence shelter. Great helping a very good cause. As of when I dropped off 4/2024, Donations are accepted until 3pm. If you have furniture or large items it's best to call them first to be sure they are able to accept it. read more

Once I heard that WINGS resale store supports the cause of homeless and abused women and children, this is a cause I can support wholeheartedly. I came in with a big box in my car to donate but there was a truck backed in and another car waiting to make a donation so I went in to take a look around. Upon walking in, we were greeted warmly by an employee. I said that we were here to make a donation but there was a line so we came in to have a look. She joked that she often spends her paycheck here too! They had lots of really nice items for sale. Lots of small appliances, glass, china, clothes and furniture. This place is terrible. They claim to help people reuse furniture but they encourage us to pollute our earth filling landfills more by being ridiculously picky about donations. They wouldn't take a beautiful couch in pristine condition because it had a little dog hair on it or an entertainment stand in great condition with many other possible uses because "its just hard". They make no effort to refab or help reuse, they are just in it for an easy profit. Disgusting! read more

Not Good. Is there a lower setting. Now, they may have decent people inside selling stuff, but the helpers that take the incoming donations are very rude. I had 6 boxes of stuff. I literally drove by 2 other resale shops cause my wife wants the money to go here, they guy told me I had too much stuff, and pointed to where it should go. It looked like he was coming to the door to help me, but nope...he went back inside like a little doggy with his tail between his legs. I told my wife and she said, well they probably don't make much money there, it was just one guy. Now my wife when there and said there was a lady that was extremely rude to her as well. I've gone to the Wings resale in Niles and in Schaumburg. The Schaumburg Wings Resale is much bigger and my preference. I've shopped here multiple times and since then they've expanded. They now have a furniture area! As soon as you walk in, the main floor is setup for clothing, the areas by the furthest back window is setup for men and children, the middle section is for home items / electronics. Overall the staff have always been friendly, fair prices (and if you go on certain days they even better deals), and the cleanliness is 5/5. You really cannot complain about anything because overall the shop is open for a great cause! Helping the women in need! Thanks Wings, I'll be back soon! read more

I visited this location for the first time today, but definitely not the last. I walked out with so many great deals, I had to take two trips to my car! Each day is a different sale day, where a certain category is 20% off. Today's bonus sale was on kid's items. They had an expanded furniture section with a good variety of couches, dressers, side tables, lamps...etc. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Diane who I met in the furniture section. read more

I don't go there anymore because I don't care for the way they treat people. Super high priced for a resale store. This place is very hit or miss. Overall it is personally not my style; it really is more of the elderly woman/mom vibe. I have found some cute home furnishings for decent prices. My best find from here though was a hot pink camping tent in perfect condition that was marked as eight dollars and there was some kind of sale the day I came in and I got it for five dollars!! We love a steal!! I've already gone camping in it four times and she still has a lot of life left in her. It is absolutely worth browsing over and popping in if you are nearby because sometimes you do find those gems. read more

Really great resale store. I was looking specifically for records and found lots of classics. I also perused their children's book section and found a few gems. This specific Wings location has lots of furniture and clothing. Most other resale shops sell records at $1. Wings sells their records at 50 cents, which is a really great deal. Children's books are 59 cents and CDs are $1. Very reasonable prices. They have a no return policy. However, when I bought the records, the cashier said I could bring them back if they didn't work. A few of the records I bought didn't play and they allowed me to exchange them. There were no hassles or any problems. The cashier was super friendly. I believe her name was Carol. Thank you so much for being so kind and welcoming! With such great and friendly service, I will definitely go back to look at their records and books. My wife and I moved to Schaumburg from the loop (Chicago) and heard about Wings from a friend. We've been there at least 3 times in a month. Dropping off items for them to resale and bought something each time. Many of the things we bought was for our 11 month old daughter which loved the choices of toys. We are becoming friends with the volunteers and know the money is going towards a good cause. Hoping to find some furniture for the new place soon under one of the weekend 50% discounts. Don't believe negative feedback from those that expect mainly new items at a resale location. They are arrogant people and need to know how things operate vs assuming crap. Some furniture may need some work done (if you have the time and experience), but it's for a cause and 100% of profits go to their cause. The reason why the staff are "volunteers". We will continue to drop off items to help their cause and buy things! They are the biggest location and carry more furniture that the other 2 because of their extra space. It's great that the new store has finally opened. Here's my Pro/Con list. Pros -a good charitable organization Cons -Like Gerry had mentioned, the store is not meant for males anymore -much smaller store with a horrible parking lot ( very difficult to enter let alone park) -prices skyrocketed $$$$$$$$ at the new location. With competition (heavy hitters Savers and Goodwill) within an arm's reach of this store, not a wise decision. -while they lost their 3 all star employees already, I noticed that a few of my favorite volunteers called it quits too. A tall sign that things aren't running smoothly from within the org. I've been a loyal customer for many years now. I will not be returning to this location. read more

I can finally shop here after losing a lot of weight. This store has very good brands, and most items are under $10. I bought a Michael Kors sweater, for $9 and the other week, I bought a pair of Anne Taylor Loft jeans for $7. They still had the $70 price tag and the pants sticker on them! There Is not a huge variety, but what they have is a much better quality then other thrift shops. read more
