So after hearing about a goodwill in La Jolla I wanted to check it out. I also heard about long line, so I was nervous about it being crowded. Thankfully when I arrived it wasn't too bad. There was a line to purchase, but it died down once I was ready to be rung up. It definitely is a nicer looking goodwill. The layout was alright, they seemed to have their better brands near the front of the store a a few furniture pieces, but the bulk of the stuff was in the back. They had the clothes in the middle and housewares wrapped around. The workers are a bit or miss as most goodwills. The ones who are helpful were also really kind. I was able to find a few really good items some brand new which is always exciting. Parking wasn't too bad, but I also didn't go on a weekend so who knows during then. Overall, a good goodwill to find time some gems. I will most likely be bs m when in the area again.

Everything is organized by colors and sizes but the aisles are so narrow is almost impossible to circulate around without getting a bit stressed. I found a brand new Nike pink skort for my gym classes. Labels and all. Also got a very cute leather Zara skirt. There were a lot of brand new pieces not my size though. Always a fun place to go and check what do they have. Oh, if you are 55+ do not forget to ask for the 10% discount. Another oh! Check that flooring...you feel you are in Ipanema instead of La Jolla!

I hit the jackpot at Goodwill in La Jolla! Scored two amazing finds--a lucky denim jacket and some adorable platform UGGs. Always a treasure hunt, and I love every minute of it!

Decent Goodwill with mostly reasonable prices. I saw tons of clothing pieces for less than $10. There is less of an emphasis on house goods (small section) though. This place seems better for clothing and maybe some shoes. The selection itself was not bad but I do wish they sorted by size. They roughly sorted by category and color but sizes were all over the place.

Tom Ford sunglasses $20, case $3!

It's a Goodwill store, (in the middle of the Village). Pretty on the outside and very nice, but it's still a Goodwill.

What can I say? Inexpensive prices and sometimes you may find a treasure. The workers are pleasant and professional.

The jewelry case is a disappointment and a laugh, Newsflash, I know what bakelite is and sadly there isn't much or any at this place! I felt my style knowledge was judged by my youthful appearance. With all that said there are a few things to look at and maybe you'll find something that catches your eye but with such MEH customer relations and inability to have a clean and organized shopping space, it's just time wasted that you'll never get back. It's just not worth the effort, unless you are standing RIGHT outside and it's somehow open. La Jolla's jewel? More like La Jolla's drool. Boring & Expensive & Not Comparable to other stores nearby. While the owner was friendly, I have a serious problem with people who sell the real designer goods alongside with several fakes. It seems quite contradicting and I really hate having to constantly ask if things are real or fake. The only thing I might have considered purchasing was ironically on loan to them and was to be picked up by the owner in a couple of days. Meaning, that they were not going to sell the item for her since the owner wanted a lot of money for something that needed some repair before selling. My mother had lived in our family home since 1950 and my father had spent years collecting everything from African masks to Asian art to beer steins plus many other odd items that stuck his fancy. Steve said this was the biggest job he had taken on, but this did not slow him down for a minute. From start to finish he methodically researched, organized and priced items for sale. I do not live in San Diego, but friends reported that on the day of the sale the line was out the door and the traffic in the house carefully controlled. The sale was a fabulous success netting more that the amount Steve had hoped. After the sale was complete Steve gave us a fair price for the remaining items that had gone unsold. He also gave us a reasonable price to totally clean out the house leaving it ready for the painters who would begin work the following week. It is normal for the person holding an estate sale to have to deal with more than one family member and navigate delicate family issues in preparation for the sale. I cannot say enough about how Steve was able to answer all questions in preparation for the sale patiently to everyone's satisfaction. No down sides to hiring Mattson Estate Sales! Steve and his team are the best and I cannot recommend his company more strongly.

Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing. About three and a half weeks before we needed to be out of our rental, Steve came to review what we had available. We showed him many higher-priced, quality items and asked specifically about everything -- including food, supplements, furniture, a heavy fountain, and more. He indicated he would take it all and that we had enough to make it worth his time and effort. As agreed, five days before the scheduled pickup, his employee did a final walkthrough. We provided a detailed list of items we had already discussed with Steve and had even added additional items he had previously said he would take. Then, just two days later, we received a text saying this was now considered more of a cleanout -- and that we would need to pay him over $1,700. During a follow-up phone call, he said the items we had previously discussed were not worth his time to take. This was especially frustrating because we had offered to let him take only what he felt was worth selling. This sudden change completely disrupted our timeline and plans to be out of the rental by the end of the month. We feel the expectations set at the beginning were not honored, which put us in a very difficult position on a tight schedule. Based on our experience, I would advise being very cautious when making plans, especially if you are working within strict deadlines.
