This is not community service or non profit. Manager came out to inspect my items to make sure they are profitable word for word. I hope this is not a tax exempt place, because they are liars. Tried to drop off very nice items and they nitpicked down to the thread on my chair. Very weird experience. I went in and they are selling things sometimes for $80+ for a picture? Goodwill more like downhill. no room for less fortunate people I guess. read more

Store is nicely laid out and the employees were very nice and helpful. All staff were wearing masks during the Covid19 pandemic. Would be nice if they didn't cram too many items on to the racks as it's hard to look through them. read more

This goodwill is not the best . It's the type of goodwill that you will need to come to at least 5 times before finding something good. Ramona is a very small town and this is one of the only big name chain stores for clothing that they have (sadly). The store itself is always clean, that's one of the only good things about it. Every time I come in here , the workers are ACTUALLY working. So you really have to give them credit for that. Customer service is a hit or miss. Sometimes they can be overly friendly and sometimes they will walk by you without a care in the world. As far as merchandise. It's okay. You can actually find some really nice shirts, but like I said, you have to visit at least 5 different times to find 1 good thing. They also sell freebie stuff that you get at other businesses which I thought was laughable. I came here last night and found a pair of sheepskin boots for $3.99 and a stone brewing growler for $2.99. Both great deals! I also found an amazing jacket but there was two holes inside of it. When I asked if I could get it at a discount (since I was going to have to sew it) the manager told me it shouldn't have even been on the sales floor and tried to awkwardly take it away from me. The associate and manager made me feel like they thought I tried to rip it for a discount. A $120 for $7.99? No, I would not rip such an amazing deal on the chance to get it even lower. So instead of making any money off of it, they made $0. They sell other items that are in bad shape so I don't see why they couldn't sell me the jacket. When I went to check out the boots and the growler, the associate that originally helped the manager with the jacket ordeal , leaned over the register and asked, "Is this all?.." as though I had other items to check out. I replied, "Yes." She than continued, looking into my cart, "What about the purse?" I looked into my cart and than back to the associate in shock and replied, "Are you asking me if I would like to buy MY OWN PURSE?" She than realized it was in fact MY purse. I was very insulted. I ubderstand that there are a lot of crazy drug addicts in Ramona and a lot of people that steal for the holidays, but I'm sorry, that's not my character. Before you assume someone is stealing, make sure they still first BEFORE accusing them of doing so or even HINTING that they are doing so. On that note, customers you will come across are either friendly and neighborly people living in Ramona or crazy druggies. Quick side note, this goodwill sells a box of 4 used and scratched glass Christmas ornament for $3.99 to where Walmart sells a brand new box of 4 glass Christmas ornaments for $3.99 and $4.99. Chose wisely. And last but not least parking. SUPER hard to find parking here. They share their parking lot with Stater Bros, Cricket Wireless, Sandwich shop and a few others. read more

I have found some pretty decent clothes here, books, wall art, and some cool toys for kids. It is organized well and clean so I enjoy that aspect. My only complaints are that the prices are a bit high for used items ($200 for a couch, $5-$7 for shirts, $25 for wall art) and sometimes the people at the drop off seem bothered that someone is there to donate. It is worth checking out though. But just be prepared for things to be a little more than usual. I think on fridays they have a buy one, get one half off deal for certain clothes. I stopped here yesterday and the store looked especially inviting - set up more like one of the Goodwill boutiques, with arrangements around themes (red, white & blue for Memorial Day) and many other items grouped by color. It made it especially easy on the eyes and I spent a little more time in here than usual. Found a beautiful Crate and Barrel hand-painted large serving platter for $3.99, and another piece of Hawaiian-theme decor in perfect condition for under $5 that looked brand new and would run $20 or more... As much as I appreciate having this store in our neighborhood, I am becoming very disappointed with the new management team. I feel that the store is becoming more of a "for profit", than what it is intended to be, a place where people of little means can find items of value for their home and personal needs. This is such a great store! It is clean and so organized. Customers are always greeted upon entering with warm and friendly smiles. Its always a pleasure to chat with their wonderful Group of Store Ambassadors. They show so much creativity in the way they display the products all around the store. This Goodwill is not honest. I went there every time I am in Ramona and spend about 200.-- a month and bring other neighbors too. Last time, I found a lot of great things for about 58.00 US. As I got to the register, I had also windshield wipers for US 6.--. I asked if I can try the size on my car and the lady on the register called in the back and she told me YES. So I go out in the parking lot and the size was wrong, so I was back in 3 minutes. The was this young kid telling me that it is not the policy of the store to give the 6 US back. The lady on the register profoundly said sorry, but I did not receive my US 6.00 back. Simple math the supervisor does not understand. They lost a good customer. I left the wipes there, but, I will never go back to this store. read more

My favorite thrift store finds have come from here. A lamp which I adore and I honestly may have buried with me when I die. Yes, I love it that much, plus I paid $13 (IMO pricey for a thrift store find but worth it). The other is an antique country style pitcher which I had been looking for, for months, but this 1 blew my expectations out of the window. All that being said they are CRAZY OVER PRICED. Someone else commented that they have seen things at the 99cent store that this Goodwill over priced, which I can corroborate as well as items having their original price tag and yet they still manage to price it for more. Sales... don't hold your breath. I go here every time I go to Stater Bros, because why not, and yet they have only had 2 sales; jeans and art/picture frames. I have never walked out of their with a purchase feeling truly proud of the bargain. Meanwhile I drive all the way to Poway Salvation Army for their Monday 75% off and I have even haggled prices and they are game. I have tried haggling at this Goodwill for things I knew had been out for weeks and they slammed me down. They are in the process of remodeling and cutting their shopping space in half, I am assuming to make more room for stuff in the back which is just sad. I have also donated here and the experience was just strange and uncomfortable. In summation, shopping here is the equivalent to shopping at Ross, you just have to sit and wait for the prices to lower if you want a truly good deal, being fully aware that you most likely will miss the item completely. You shouldn't be overpaying for stuff they get for FREE and have an abundance of. Feels more like a consignment shop than a thrift store. If I didn't love the items I have purchased there so much and the store wasn't so organized I would give it 1 star. Goodwills are just not what they used to be. I have found items from 99 cents store brand new marked $1.99 here. I have found that the prices rise during Holidays such as Christmas, which I find especially annoying since this is a Goodwill after all. You would have better luck at Clearance racks at Kohls rather than spend money on clothing here. Even with all that being said, you will find a good deal here and there. I did find the most unique cat cookie jar here for $7 which I love. My sister found a leather purse retailing for $300 brand new for $4 in great condition. Bottom line- Be VERY choosey when you shop here. Better yet take your business to Ramona Food and Clothes closet if you're looking for commonly donated essentials such as furniture and cooking items! read more

Do you want to go and shop at a place that harrasses and take advantage - though abuse is a more accurate work? I use to work there, and let me tell you how all the co-workers are treated by the manger and the higher ups. When I first started there the management was very nice, and helped me feel welcome. I worked as a cashier, so I meet and dealt with a lot of people as well as the other cashiers. When I first started they said "If you have any problems let me know" & "This is your store, change what you see fit." They introduce my co-workers & they helped me around. One coworker, Sarah - not her real name- told me on the first day "You're not going to like this job, and you'll want to quite almost everyday." At first I thought Sarah was kidding, later on I found this to be the truth. As time went on, I notice a lot of issue's, how one cashier, Marry- not her real name- would never follow the chart that had our duties for that day including our breaks and lunch. All my coworkers, including me, were getting tired of this. One day I brought it up to the others and before I could even finished they told me not to do it, because the Manager wouldn't do anything. Let me tell you bit about myself; when I was in college I was part of a lot of organizations that worked to make the university a more welcoming & diverse college. Opening up a Latino center, helping the Native American organization become more recognizable on campus, brought awareness of sexual assault, help hire a sexual assault counselor, participate in rallies and protests. So for me not speaking up went against what I was. That following day I went up to management and voiced the concerns my coworkers, the cashiers, and I had. Within seconds of giving them reasonable and validating concerns, management - really just the boss- began to blame everything on me. I was accused me of causing issues, I stood my ground and said "I'm sorry, but that's not true. It is not just me it's all of my coworkers. I'm the only one who is willing to stand up and bring this issue to light. All of them are too scared to speak up, because they feel that they won't be heard or worse, be fired." I even went into detail, of what specific problems that needed to be resolve, I also gave some solutions that could help. Even after all the evidence, specific details of issues that could be easily solved, they chose to ignore my complaints and kept accusing me for all that was going on. Some of you may believe that I'm "the lazy worker, who just complains". I'm not. At the end of my first month working there I had outdone all my cashiers, twice or three times they made in months. The cashiers, had been there close to a year or more, when I only just been there for a month. This kept being true till I quit. I was the fastest and hardworking cashier. I went far and beyond what was needed of me. When one cashier was on her third costumer, I was already on my fifth or sixth. Now Marry, the one who wouldn't follow our daily chart, began to play the victim, blaming everything on me or the other co-workers. When we had to be called in we all stood our ground and simply said, "That's not true, Marry...", but the manger don't believe us, she believe that we're the ones at fault & Marry is innocent. When everyone all agrees it's not them but Marry, and THE manager still defends Marry. That tells you a lot. BUT when the regional manager comes in and backs up the manager, when he talk to all of us about what is going on, it shows what they see us as. As long as you're bringing in the money, they won't care if a customer is screaming at you - that did happen - or is stealing from the store - that happened as well - OR when a coworker starts screaming at you, when you are just asking for help - happened as well - even as I'm giving you examples, they've happened. I didn't back down, I stood my ground till I quit. Almost every week someone would quit because they didn't like how they were being treated. Those who wanted to quit, needed the job. When clocking out, they literally celebrated, but when they went work they were defeated & already counting the time. Even when some were looking for another job, they talked about it as if, there longtime crush agreed to date him/her. With someone quitting every week, the manager and the higher ups didn't do anything at all to remedy the issue, nor, asked us, the workers, what they could do. Twice I had to go the hospital, within a month, of how I was being treated. First time, my mom and doctor told me, even begged me to quit, at the state I was in when I got there. Second time I realized that this was too much for my health. So I quit. Even as I was quitting they still blamed me and "band" me. Why? I was the only to stand up and voice concern. I've talked to other Goodwill manager's and they all knew of how workers were treated there. Why is this happening? Why isn't something happening? Easy. The only "good" thing about the Ramona Goodwill is that it is clean and organized. Otherwise, as with ALL Goodwill stores, the prices are too high! In addition, there are retail tags left on items that are cheaper than the Goodwill price tag?? I have actually had to point this out to staff members (a couple of times) in order to get the "retail tag" price...LOL As well, I have to add that this store puts out glassware items with obvious chips and cracks on them. You can't use them in that condition so why are they out for purchase?? Clearly the staff is not paying attention to this sort of issue..not good! Used goods should not equal retail prices. Seems like the Goodwill is very greedy to me! Time to boycott for sure! read more
