I went to this location after I found out my X-bf donated stuff here that was mine. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find it but the staff were very nice and insightful. Not the best Goodwill that I've been to but it serves its purpose. This store has the usual things you find at most Goodwill's: clothing, shoes, lots of knick knacks, household items, kitchen supplies, some decent books, lots of CDs that no one wants - all for a more expensive price than you will pay at a regular thrift store. I would have been much happier with my visit today if I could have tried out a lamp they were selling for $8. It was a decent used heavy-bottom adjustable swing arm lamp that could be rotated and turned into many positions. I planned to use it for reading sheet music and books. It was probably worth about $25 to $30 brand new, so I would have purchased it if I could have plugged it in and try it out. I couldn't find a receptacle anywhere in this place, everything is covered with wall plates. When I asked an associate for help he informed me that 'they test all appliances before they are tagged to ensure they work before putting them on the shelves. If you want to test the lamp out you need to purchase it and try the lamp at home. If it doesn't work then to bring it back to exchange it with another one or something of equal value.' What the hell is that?? So basically if it doesn't work, I'm basically stuck with the lamp because there no other one here like it or anything else in the store that I actually want equaling $8. After that encounter, I basically said the heck with this place, I'm out. One other observation of the store before signing off, it is a bit messy when compared to other Goodwill's I have been to recently. Especially where the kitchen supplies, household items, and knick knacks are. Everything is just kind of thrown in there together. I might give them a chance if I happen to be in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

This is frankly the worst Goodwill experience I have ever had in my long time life of thrifting. I have been to probably 20 Goodwills and never had an experience even close to as bad as this one. There is no fitting room on the premises- who builds an effing Goodwill without a fitting room??? Put them on the phone because I just wanna talk. Because of this, I take 2 items into the bathroom to try on. When I walk out, I am greeted by an extremely rude and unhelpful women who tells me I am not to take clothes in to the bathroom. Mind you- who is stealing from a Goodwill??? Out of curiosity, I ask "Okay, do you have a fitting room then?". This woman looks me dead in the eye and tells me they have a THREE DAY exchange policy. EXCHANGE, mind you. Not return. Who in their right mind wants to go back to the same Goodwill within THREE days and find more FUGLY clothes that also probably won't fit (because AGAIN, no fitting room) just to exchange and pay the difference. I am truly distressed and horrified at the corporate greed, flat out rude attitude from the worker, and no attempt to remedy the situation. I do NOT recommend shopping here. read more

This is one of the best Goodwills in the area. It's large, has a lot of stuff and is clean and bright! I bought some candle holders, and wall hangings for just a few dollars a piece. You might find a cool wine glasses, rice cookers, many other things that are inexpensive enough to try. My friend and I found all kinds of great quality and almost new cute blouses and shirts as well. Did you know Goodwill has a membership program? Just give them your phone number. read more

I am an avid thrifter. However, BEWARE - Goodwill has removed all outlets from their stores besides the ones near the registers. I had asked to have an item plugged in to make sure it works. I was told that their policy was that they were not allowed to plug items in for customers. However, that I could return it within 3 days if needed. Those exact words were said. Well the item didn't work so I went back within the 3 days to return the item. Here is where things get interesting. I was told that I have to exchange the item. They do not do returns or store credits. I am forced to find something to exchange my item that does not work, all within 3 days of the original purchase. I understand not providing a refund. However, not providing a store credit is unheard of. This new policy is ridiculous. Goodwill is screwing its customers. It has been years since I have donated to Goodwill as they trash/destroy many donated items that are either not in season or they have too many of. After this incident, my Goodwill browsing will be far and in between. Going forward, I will NOT be purchasing anything that has a plug. read more

I have been thrifting for years, and this is one of my favorite locations! I feel like they have a good selection of items, and most are in good condition. I usually come to shop home items, but their clothing selection is decent too. Over the years the location has changed A LOT! I do think they have scaled back what they put out, and have most definitely increased pricing. Overall I would recommend coming here to thrift! read more

This is a larger Goodwill location and it is conveniently located on Alafaya Trail. It is not too far from the University of Central Florida (UCF), so I am sure they get quite a bit of their customers from the university. My daughter is a big fan of Goodwill. He would compare to a treasure hunt I think she could spend quite a bit of time wandering the aisles, seeking that one item that she can rock out as the fashionista that she is. All in all, I am going to give this particular Goodwill four stars. One of the biggest factors is their convenience. Not only are they on Alafaya Trail oh, but they are probably a mile away from the University of Central Florida. read more

This Goodwill checks all the important boxes for me: well organized, still has their book shelves, average prices, and sits within the right region to use my Goodwills of Central Florida rewards points. The flooring and lighting are both lighter/brighter, which can be pretty disorienting. There are lots of times when I leave with a small headache, but I know that's probably just me. I like how the clothing is arranged, even though I think the dressing rooms near the linens need more space for carts or a line. I've never been disappointed by their sections except for active wear, which looks pretty thin every once and a while. The location is on the bigger side, which means there's plenty of space for lamps, electronics, children's toys, and a variety of housewares. As far as Goodwills go, this was not my favorite by any means. The one on Lake Underhill by the BJ's Warehouse is much better, as are some of the others I've been to. This one was much smaller, seemed organized with clothing, but just had a feel like I needed to get out of there. I can't explain it other than I don't plan on going back to this location. As with any goodwill, they have what they have, so if you see something you like, get it. But just not a fan of this one. read more

Why is Goodwill taking aim at resellers? Purposely putting the GW price sticker over the manufacturer barcodes is being done now to prevent resellers from researching products value on reselling platforms. We are really trying to understand if it is the intention of GW to sell the stuff that is freely given to the store for a fair price or not. I left 30+ items behind today. If the practice continues I'll simply stop buying at this store and any other that does the same. And I am confident that I am not the only reseller who is disappointed with GW for intentionally making it more difficult for us to determine if the buy is worth it or not. I'm thinking that GW is trying to get what buyers pay on reselling platforms. But GW does not take the time to test out or confirm the product in in good working condition. GW doesn't clean up, photograph, research and list the product. If you don't put the effort in you can't as top dollar. Not to mention that GW doesn't guarantee the item works. read more

Sorry, this is going to be long, but it's been a long time coming. Again, negative stars would come in handy here. This review is for all the Goodwills here in Florida, especially the store in Waterford Lakes and Oviedo. 1. Removing dressing rooms because people were stealing. That may be true; however, I believe the majority of your customers are good honest people and we shouldn't have to pay for a few bad apples. 2. Your prices are so ridiculously high; I laugh as I put the item right back where I found it. There are quite a few items on your shelves from The Dollar Tree that you have marked at $3.99. Again, I laugh as I put it back...I also warn anyone I see that pick up any of those items to go next door and get it for $1.25. 3. I can't tell you how many times I've picked out a piece of clothing, marked anywhere from $4.99-$29.99 that are absolute rags. They are either torn (pretty obvious too), there are stains again, very obvious, or something "gross" has been left on or inside the clothing. Your quality control really needs help. Oh, you don't have one? Then who determines the price on the junk out on the floor? I picked up a bow tie not long ago, it was very apparent it wasn't meant for a person, it was for a small dog or cat, and it wasn't in the best shape (it should have found its way to the trash that's how bad it was) yet it had a price tag of $4.99. The candles out on the floor, some are melted down so bad there is nothing left, and some have no scent what-so-ever. I understand selling both, but I don't believe in selling those at the same price you're selling the nicer candles at. 4. Rethink your pricing guidelines. Not every like item should be priced the same or higher. Some plain Fruit-of-the-loom basic white T-shirts shouldn't be selling for $4.99 each. The way you have things priced; I can't even afford to shop there using the "color of the day" 1/2 off. The color of the day 1/2 off price is probably closer to what the item should have been priced at to begin with. 5. As far as the resellers go, don't you remember being told not to believe everything you read or see on the internet as well as, people typically will only post what they want you to see. So, in real life, the resellers that are so excited about how much they made on this, that and the other may have actually made that, but seriously, how many times do you think that actually happens. One other thing to consider here, reselling may be the only job these people have, besides their online accounts which I understand can be quite lucrative, but with all that, they still have bills to pay as well. Things that some of us take for granted working for an employer. For instance, we probably get health insurance, maybe paid time off, maybe some sort of retirement plan, etc. So, these resellers being self-employed are just a piece of their life they're showing us, and it does look like they live a charmed life. Anyway, that's how I look at it. So, them showing us their treasures they just found and being prideful on their videos, which they should be, I kind of like to watch them. Does it make me envious? No, because I know it is far and few between in real life. So why get so greedy when a FEW people might make a bit of money from something someone donated to you? There is plenty to go around. 6. It may be time for new management. These stores are so packed, the houseware isles are a mess all of the time. I see the workers come out with their carts to stock the shelves and are so overwhelmed with all of the stuff, they just throw or put the items anywhere it will fit. Customers drop and break things trying to look at 1 item, but it is so packed and such a mess, they inadvertently knock something over and it breaks. The clothes are so jammed in I see the workers struggling trying to put more clothes on the racks. If your prices were more reasonable, you should be able to move more merchandise. But I don't think that's what you're after is it. You're wanting to make that almighty dollar, open up more stores and let a lot of nice items end up at the dump or sold to a company for a pretty penny for them to take over seas and sold or given to their poor people. I understand it's a never-ending cycle, but just like housework, it has to be done and daily if not more or it will get out of hand. These stores are disgusting. Take some of the people that are just bouncing around in the back or hire more but get these stores in some sort of organized, clean space. You charge so much, yet your store and a lot of the items in it are trash. 7. Also, regarding a few bad apples, 1 person gets a little shock from plugging in a lamp so now we all have to suffer and trust that the items we choose were tested in the back to make sure they're working. This whole way of doing business is crap. You've really gone downhill, yet your prices have skyrocketed while everyone else's paychecks have not. Thanks!! read more

Prices have gotten way too high for all items. There are NO returns or credits and items must be exchanged within 3 day not a week which is far too short a time and inconvenient especially since you must shop again for the exchange. Dressing rooms have been removed which coupled with the new shortened exchange policy makes no sense. Have shopped here for years. Employees seem distant and disgruntled. I've shopped here for years it's just disappointing to see Goodwill disregard their customers this way. On whole Goodwill has gotten pricey, some of the prices are higher then they were originally , especially for used shoes. I dont want to give Oviedo any stars, it should be called I'll-will. Their prices are more then the other goodwills. on senior days they have a few customers that they save things for. They get the best items that are behind the counter. The manager is not at all a pleasant person. We had a tag fall off had a picture of item with the tag ,because I had sent it someone to see if they wanted it. The store wanted to sell it for a dollar more. couldn't give the price even though we had a photo a few minutes before. Since when does goodwill now have a restock fee. The staff is just rude. will never shop at that goodwill again. Have shopped at other area goodwills and this is not the case. The prices have gone up especially at this location. If you need to go to a goodwill don't go to this you unless you want an unpleasant experience an love being around rude people. read more

I love thrifting but I was disappointed at the changes at this store lately. First, prices went up a few months ago, more in line with a consignment shop, not a Goodwill. The icing on the cake that led me to make a review, is that they've removed the fitting rooms entirely. I know, it's "gross" to try on thrifted clothes- but you can't return anything, so I'm not about to throw away $12 on jeans that don't fit. This is a complaint towards corporate headquarters. Who's bright idea was it to remove all the dressing rooms at the Oviedo FL Goodwill?? I'm assuming it was not a woman who came up with this bright idea as all women know we must try Everything on before purchasing. All womans/children's sizes fit differently depending on the make/style. Goodwill is Becoming such a disgusting GREEDY!!! Corporation!! I went to another goodwill down the street who is no longer offering dressing rooms so I came down to check this one out. They came up with the same excuse from the other store. They "claim " people are stealing items ‍ THE ONLY ONE STEALING IS GOODWILL! They take your FREE donations and jack up the profit by 60% margin and expect you to pay full price for a used item. They expect you to buy the clothes without trying it on then when you want to return the item that doesn't fit they don't want to give you a refund but offer a in store credit so for them it's a win win while the customer gets screwed. I used to love coming to thrift stores but this has completely made the experience poor. People stop giving your hard earned money to these heartless corporations who are profiting and keeping you poor. They don't pay their employees enough money and sell items for the price of new. Just dropped off a several boxes of donations and no helped me. As I unloaded my car, some guy with a mask on just stared at me and when I asked for help he responded that "he wasn't allowed". All the while, another employee was standing about 15 feet away attempting to flirt with some guy in a truck. She yelled at me that I needed to put the donations in a specific crate after I had unloaded them. It just baffles me that employees can be so inconsiderate... especially working at a nonprofit. I usually pop in the store after I donate items. While in the store yesterday, I noticed prices have increased substantially. This is sad since Goodwill gets the items for free and a thrift store is supposed to be priced lower than a discount store. Wonderful thrift shop. Well organized store with inexpensive, good quality items and friendly store attendants. Tank tops are $2.99, skirts are $3.69, dresses are $5.99, and belts are $0.99. There is a large selection of clothes for every size, and most clothes were surprisingly pretty. I came away with a few floral print dresses, a geo print maxi skirt, and cute tanktops. There are a lot of clothes that are in style for college students, but you can also find work-appropriate blouses and pants. I'll be coming back here for sure! There are 3 large fitting rooms that I was able to roll my shopping cart into. The line can get long very quickly while other times it's completely empty. There are about 4 cashiers, making the wait only a few minutes. Additionally, they give 10% off your purchase if you have student ID. Items can be exchanged within 30 days with receipt and tag attached. read more

I often drop off donations to the Goodwill on Alafaya Trail in Oviedo. In doing so this a.m. there was no one to help me unload my car. When I called I was told because of Covid they aren't allowed to help. So why is the store open at all if it is so dangerous to help a customer unload outside?? I sound bad saying this, but this place is kinda high priced for a thrift store. lol, like you can luck out, but there is a thrift store in downtown Oviedo that is like 1/4th of the price of what they charge for home goods and kids clothes. As far as drop off goes, it took me like 3 minutes to figure out how to access the drop off location, it's confusing and just when you think you've found the enterence, "wrong way" signs are in your face. This place smells like your grandma's house and I'm not sure that's a good thing. Huge variety of goods. But it's very unorganized in there. Do they really accept anything? Not in my experience. I tried to donate plastic gates, some people use them for toddlers and some use them for pets. Guy said, "we don't take these." No explanation given. I also tried to donate a sandbag set for weight training. Guy said, "we don't take these, kid might have it fall on him." Okay. But you could say that about any of the glass items they take in. Some items are priced fairly, some are overpriced. You can find some deals here. Cashiers seem to work slow. This place is always busy so don't expect to make it a quick trip. It's in a great location and the parking lot is huge so you'll never have trouble finding parking. read more

I've been here just to drop off. The people are always nice come out right away with that yellow cart, I unload and leave within a minute. They always ask if I need a receipt but never get one. The drop off area is a little hard to get to you have to enter from Alafaya but they are not usually busy so you can get to where you need to go. I went inside once looking for crutches found some but not my size, maybe that was for the better as I don't know how reliable used crutches would be. It's always good to go outside of your home territory for thrift shopping. When I visit the Goodwill close to my home I'm always worried I'll repurchase something I donated. So I ventured to Oviedo. The nice thing about Goodwill is that general clothing has a set price. They don't adjust according to name brand. Shoes and purses? I have no idea how they establish those prices. I was on a quest for Halloween costumes. I picked up an awesome Star Trek uniform for my daughter for $6. Win! read more

This is a well-organized Goodwill and fairly new so it's pretty clean. Once in awhile they have some really great furniture selections. Only downside: It's a little difficult to see from the road so you may end up passing it by and then having to do a couple of u-turns to get back to it. read more

Colleen R had very poor customer service, she was the cashier that day and when it was my turn to pay she did not even greet with a "hello" or "did you find everything alright?" I told her which mattress I wanted to buy and she just walked away without telling me anything. 5mins later she showed up with a mattress from the back. This lady had such a bad attitude and you could tell she didn't want to be at work today. Yes, I'm sure this isn't your dream job but they should def get rid of her and hire a replacement team member who won't ruin my morning. read more

This location is always busy. The staff is not friendly and the manager has obvious prejudices against veterans. Understanding that this is a retail store, the clothes are obviously overpriced. Purchasing the same item at other retail outlets has shown that all other stores are at least 50 percent cheaper. As far as helping people find jobs, it would be better to withhold any comments for fear of retaliation. read more
