Right now, besides an antique store in Mount Dora, this is my favorite place to go to thrift. Remember to bring cash but they have an ATM machine just in case. This thrift store has been my savior since losing a lot of weight in the last year. I have found some really unique items, including a rockabilly skirt with the tag still on, an original framed watercolor painting, and a $900 French silk dress. This store has lots of higher end purses and bags for decent prices. They do discounts on certain color tags each week. Prices can be a little inconsistent but generally pretty on par with other big thrift stores and very good when they are discounted. The caveats are that they take CASH ONLY, you can't try anything on, all the appliances are as is and not necessarily tested, everything is final sale, and they double staple the tags into their clothes. It is a very busy store but it's large and packed with items. You can find some great deals if you know the rules. read more

I wasn't thrilled with this place. A big part of the issue was probably that they only take cash. I'm just not used to that anymore. They did have a lot of merchandise but the aisles were tight. I found a couple items that I liked that were a good deal. There were quite a few people working throughout the store and they processed people quickly through the registers. Overall, I would say the prices were pretty good, but I didn't look at a lot of the merchandise which happened to be clothing. for me, this may not be the best place to shop, but if I was local, I could definitely see spending some time here. read more

This place usually has pretty well priced shoes and video games, but I really wish they wouldn't write the prices on the game discs with permanent marker. As far as I know it doesn't damage the console or game, but the one time I tried to remove the marker, I used only a magic eraser, and it damaged the disc art. (The game still worked fine, but it was an eyesore) I'd recommend using scotch tape on the game discs if you absolutely HAVE to write the prices down on the discs even though you already do that on the case, just to make it easier to remove. read more

Cash only. So this place is bizarre. I've been driving by for years and years and have been in dozens of times wondering what the what people see in this place walking out with nothing. Prices can be very high so far as thrift stores go and why the parking lot's always so busy, I don't even know. Even when for all those years the sign was blown off from whatever hurricane, the lot's always full up. ...until I learned how it works here. They tee it high and let it fly with the prices, at least at first. Then things get discounted over time. Anyway, while I wouldn't go so far as to say this's exactly a honey hole, what I would say is that some pretty good stuff tends to sit around until it's deeply discounted. Customers tend to wait for the discounts, so in a way, you've got a better shot at the premium stuff if you're willing to pay the premium prices. I've had some good luck getting Polo, Birkenstock, Doc Marten, etc. Lots of panning for gold here. Parking can be hard even though the lots large, crowds can be oppressive, and there's a lot of junk to root through. Staff's always been friendlier than your usual thrift store. And from the customers, I'm told a lot of this stuff goes overseas. Not sure if it's true, but that's the rumor. read more

Went in for some pastel work shirts and dark jeans. Ended-up with 4 shirts & two jeans for $28 TOTAL! A couple of the items were on a 50% off day! Yay! Make sure you arrive with cash as they don't take cards AT ALL...they directed me to the store ATM (which could rival a Vegas slot machine!) Grabbed cash from there with a $3.50 charge...and another one from my bank. Still, I came out on top with some Levi's and Target clothing! Was fun perusing! read more

This was my first time visiting this location. It was a hot Saturday afternoon and this place was jammed pack! Like no shopping carts jammed packed. I love vintage jewelry do I started at this section first. Great selection of jewelry. The lady places a basket in front of me and places all of my selections in the basket. She was helping many people while I was looking. She took the basket with her every time she left to assist another shopper. It was odd but maybe they have a problem with theft. Once finished she gave me a ticket and placed another ticket in my basket. When finished shopping your basket await you at the check out counter. I decided to look around and stumbled upon some great finds. Excited, I head straight to the fitting room. Only two fitting rooms located behind the jewelry counter. The lady says to me we have a dressing room policy...3 items only and $4.94 and up to try an item on. I know I looked crazy because she asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. If an item is below this price, you have to try it on in the middle of the store and they only have two mirrors in the whole joint. I was a little turned off by this but I walked over and waited my turn to utilize one of the two mirrors. I could only try on my tops and ended getting all of them. I'm still bummed about the leopard skirt I left behind. Next time I will wear tights so I can try on bottoms with ease. I purchased a ton of earrings and four tops for 29.98. Some items were a little higher than I wanted to pay but so cute...I couldn't refuse. Bottom line: bring cash, be prepared to dig, try on clothes in the open and be brushed up against by all the shoppers. read more

4 Stars for a nonprofit thrift store in an unmarked building (edit: looks like it used to have a sign, but it wasn't up when I went) that looks a bit sketchy, but has gems hidden within. The other day a friend posted a picture of a brand new blue velvet Article mid century modern sofa that was just hanging out at this thrift shop. She had dibs on it, but let me know they hinted there may be more brought out from the warehouse the next day. Fast forward and I pulled up to an unmarked strip mall with a Dollar Tree on one side. Do I wish they had a sign so I wouldn't have been confused? Not really. Because mama got herself a fancy af brand new mid century sectional. They also have tons of clothing, camping gear, toys, bikes, and tchotchkes galore. But note- IT'S CASH ONLY and though they have an atm, the limit it $200. Besides the crazy cool finds, this spot has the best customer service of any thrift store ever. Like, ever ever. Nef, a gentleman with striking eyes, and a woman at the register were all so wonderful! They went back to take photos of something I may be interested in at the warehouse out back, helped get it into the truck, talked to me about the organization, and gave me some great tips on cooking ribs (lol). A truly horrendous experience. We had about $40 worth of items in our cart, including a bag of CDs they had priced at $5. Unfortunately, they put too much in the bag so it couldn't support the weight; it broke open and the tag came off. When I got to the register I showed them the tag and they refused to sell it to me. Meanwhile, just feet away were tons of other bags at the same price, proving this couldn't possibly be fraud. They claimed I'd have to wait two days for the owners to come back in and make a decision. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We put ALL the items back, meaning their anti-customer policy cost them an additional $35 in business. Never returning. read more

Look for the shopping center with the blue metal awning. There is NO sign on the building but tons of treasures and other items await you once inside. I just had a few minutes to run in before a flight, so I didn't find anything but if I would have stayed longer, no doubt would have came out with several things. They have a good mix of vintage and thrift items. I saw some Jimmy Choo shoes, Kate Spade bags, etc. in the case so they do get luxury items from time to time. This is where the housewives of Belle Isle discard designer items they have never or barely worn. It's a treasure chest but timing is everything. Reading the whiney reviews on here is sad. They complain about everything EXCEPT the great deal they found!!! The tag system is easy to understand. Seriously.... They try to get as much as possible for Amvets. When they first put the items out for sale they are priced the highest. The longer they are in the store, the more the price goes down. When you sell something, don't you do the same, try to get the most? Things are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. You decide to buy it now or come back next week and try to get it cheaper. If it's gone, your loss. If it's still there and has been marked down, you score. There's a ton of good deals in this store. Don't let the whiney people discourage you from finding what you consider a deal. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that they won't let you try something on In the dressing room if it's less than $6. And the cash only sucks.... You're bound to find some pretty decent condition items here. Some furnitures look in solid condition, but I did not need any. I've bought an awesome durable adjustable wood art easel for $3.00. It's about 3-4 feet by 1.5 feet and the base is flat on a table. I found an Oxo pump salad spinner $3.93 and a Coleman polylite plastic cooler for $1.91. Pretty happy with my purchases. Overall, the cashiers were friendly too. And if there is a line, it moves pretty quickly. I think this is cash-only too. There some small sections of the store that looked pretty dusty and really dirty, or even questionable to sell. I know yes, thrift stores aren't meant to be super near and immaculate, but I've seen some thrift stores that would look cleaner. Despite that, I'd still give 4 stars for a good thrift store I'd regular go to. read more

Whooaaaaa ... Upon entering, the smell of old people clothes is overwhelming! The store is HUGE! I was, however, immediately stopped like a dear in headlights in awe of the nice array & selection of vintage jewelry. Then, to my dismay, I was quickly disenchanted due to the extreme scratched up display cases, which I couldn't even focus hard enough to see the jewelry. Then, the prices: WAYYyyyyy Overpriced! Some of the jewelry, I could get for $4 with free shipping on eBay were priced in the $20's+. Big SAD FACE, see =0( They had a great large arrangement of purses. Sadly, extremely overpriced again. What was even more disappointing it seemed that not even decent designers like Liz Claiborne were in the mix. Had really crappy fake Louis Vuitton's that were in poor condition. I love purses. There were tons here. I didn't find 1 I couldn't live without. No luck in the purse dept., but you might. The Tan Tagged merchandise are on sale. I'd figure it would be half off like Goodwill. No. They have a more complicated system that I can't even remember it. I'd have to go back and look at the sign again. The most I think you can get is 33% off depending on the amount you spend on Tan Tagged merchandise. Another BIG SAD FACE =0( Women's Clothes: Surprisingly there is a lot of well organized racks by size. YAY!!!! I found the majority to be extremely overpriced again, especially the dresses = ridiculously overpriced. I've been to consignment shops and bought better dresses for less. However, I'm one of those people who like to hunt. I DID actually end up finding me a very nice Carole Little skirt I couldn't live without. The swing skirt was a white base, though a bit less white now, with eyelets & gorgeous black embroidery all over it. I was shocked because it was sooo beautiful & in my size. I got it for $6.83 + Tax. It was actually in the smalls, I can't wear a small. I just happened to see the pattern peak out at me & I just looked & the "Yays!" began. So, someone probably was hiding it or changed their mind & put it in the wrong size. None of my other 3 friend's bought or found anything. Bottom line: This is the MOST OVERPRICED Thrift Store I've ever been to. I have been here quite a few times and I don't know why people say the prices are high. Junk jeans at goodwill are $6.99 and here I got a pair of Mother jeans for $4. I have found beautiful items here at great prices. They have their discounted ticket colors so it's always fun to save that money. My only drawback is the aisles are really small and their carts are tiny so it's hard to get a whole lot of items in there and maneuver through the aisles. I hope people will continue to think it's overpriced....MORE FOR ME! One more note, so far the ladies I have had the pleasure to deal with at the register have always been so pleasant. I've shopped here for the last 15 years and i cant say I've ever had a positive interaction with a single worker, they all seem pretty hateful to be there. What stunted me to write this review is an occasion a few weeks ago in which my mother and i were shopping here and a fire broke out in the back, toxic plastic smelling smoke filled the whole store and not one fire alarm went off, no attempt at evacuation. There was a whole fire but everything was business as usual for the workers it seemed, elderly customers breathing smoke and all. We were only there a few minutes before we took the hint that we really needed to leave for our safety, and now my mother has had a persisting lung infection caused by this store's unruly safety precautions and failure to evacuate the store immediately when an active fire was burning. Decided to pay a visit today to see if the joint was even still in one pieces after that last visit, only to be told upon entering by a stank faced worker that i could not be in the store with a Starbucks drink in my hand. Really guys? I cant shop there with a drink but you can have zero smoke alarms or evacuation procedures? This place clearly has their priorities set. I will not be back, they've gone down hill drastically in the last 5 years anyway. read more

I really like this store. It's not your typical thrift store. All clothes are by size.. and it's organized for the most part. Do pay attention to the sign above that will tell you what color of the week is on sale and how much. Some items are costly but you can find some really good deals. The clothes are in much better condition than those in Goodwill. Definitely worth visiting, especially if you're in a budget or if you just like finding bargains. read more

My friend told me about this place and I was not disappointed. They have an amazing selection of items that are in amazing shape. I've been to lots of used clothing stores and very few had such new looking clothes. I was able to get 4 workout outfits, 2 shirts for me and 2 shirts for my kids for $60. The price of ONE of the outfits, brand new, would have been $60. They have sales in certain items (their price tags are color coded and certain colors go on sale in a cycle) which is posted overhead in the store. That helps you save even more money. The only drawback is that they only accept cash and their in house ATM doesn't always work. Not a big deal, just make sure you go to the bank first!! read more

This place is nuts. There is so much you suddenly "need" as soon as you come in, you have to definitely come in with an idea of what you actually need. Their clothes selection is huge, their jewelry wasn't that impressive, actually there was nothing to impressive in their scratched up cases, they did have some great toys, their record and book selection was also quite small. They had a ton of appliances, and the usual nick-nacks you find at most thrift store. The last time we went in we saw some guy purchase a large Tumi suitcase that retails in the thousands! So keep in mined you do find some treasures here. read more

Huge selection! Yes, they only take cash, and yes, I agree a lot of the prices are too high. I did find a really nice tall bar stool for $34 and this was easily a $125 bar stool. My friend found some nice shirts for $1.99 which had never been worn. One drawback about clothes is you can't try them on unless they are priced over $4.99 ?? what is that about??!!! He bought 2 pairs of shorts that were mis-marked on the size, and they were too small. He couldn't try them on because they were not "expensive" enough. Seems to me if you have dressing rooms and no line, what does it hurt? He tried on a few things, easily could have tried on the two shorts. Oh well, he bought them and then discovered they were a size smaller than they were marked (should have checked that!) and were a little snug! I do not mind a little grunge for deals, but this place is too dirty and somewhat scary. Overpriced. I feel like this is a place pickpocketing happens. Furniture belongs in the dump. It is not even worth painting the fake wood for the price they charge. Any luxury items are probably knockoffs. Really who is gonna donate a $1000-5000 handbag here? They would take it to a Winter Park designer thrift store where the right amount gets donated to charity or sell it themselves.
