Consignment shops are much better than Goodwill. Consignment may cost more but the is in excellent condition and generally a bit trendier.

They want each family to have access to basic necessities for better health; dignity and quality of life. Since 2013, they have distributed over 15 million diapers. I volunteered for a two hour shift at the diaper bank. You are in a warehouse that is not climate control but there are fans. We were provided instructions how to repackage the diapers and rewrap the new bundles in plastic wrap. In that 2 hour time frame, everyone there repackaged 19,500 diapers so that was impressive. If you are looking for an agency to volunteer or donate this one serves a good purpose.

Most of us do not spend a lot of time thinking about diapers. But if you are a parent, grandparent,…read moreor caregiver without enough of them, they can become a major source of stress, guilt, and desperation. Public safety net programs such as The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, previously known as Food Stamps) do not cover the purchase of diapers, often leaving families with a difficult decision between buying diapers and other necessities with their limited funds. For families in need, something as small as a diaper can have a significant impact. They are located at the corner of Kiss Dr. and Club Boulevard, you'll make a left and we are inside the green fence on the right. The temperature inside the warehouse is the same as the outside, so it is important to dress appropriately and to also wear closed-toe shoes. Each volunteer needs to complete the online volunteer waiver before attending the event (http://bit.ly/diaperwrap), but they also have hard copies on hand when you come in person. It's a very good, very cool store. Its current location which is located in old renovated movie theater offers a wide variety of things from craft supplies of all sorts to thrifting finds. It's a space that feels like a school art room where anything is possible with just a little creativity applied. You never know what you'll find from old magazines to old family photos to empty 35mm film canisters to old laboratory supplies. Their official thrift store is located in eye sight close by to if you want browse those offerings. This place is a true Durham staple since I was a kid and it was located in Northgate Mall and remains a Durham staple now (sigh... - because I'm older now too) many years later.

There's so many different sections and they're all arranged very neatly. Creativity just oozes out of this building pores. I didn't buy anything at this time because I was slightly overwhelmed. I would definitely check this place out if you are sick of Michaels.

They have a great selection of everything. The staff is very nice. Very helpful. Just in case you're wondering they do not have a public bathroom. Just wanted to throw that in there, they do not have a return policy. Once you buy it, it's yours and the only reason I bring this up is I was at the checkout I purchased a pair of shoes and immediately after paying, before walking out the store before walking away from the counter, I realized there was a hole in the bottom of the shoe the manager was standing beside the clerk and I said, "there's a hole in the shoe, can I just return them?" I didn't want my money back just a little gift card. I think $4.99. The answer was no, that was a surprise. I said, there's a hole in the shoe. He said, there's no returns I donated a pair of shoes that day and lost $4.99. I'm not upset about that. I just wanted to let you guys know there is a no returns policy. Make sure you check all your items before you purchase. Have a great day thrifting.

I will definitely return eventually.
