We used Got Junk again today and the experience was 5 stars from start to finish! We ended up with 3/4 of a truckload, it was a lot of work but they didn't bat an eye. Keshawn was wonderful, so was the other gentleman (I didn't catch his name). They called ahead to give us their ETA, arrived on time and we showed them the items - there were a lot, they were professional and friendly. I recently had 1-800-GOT-JUNK? in Raleigh, remove one three-seater sofa from my 3rd floor walkup apartment. The two men who removed the sofa were professional, courteous, and efficient. I appreciate them! I reduced the rating because it was very expensive: $200 to remove one sofa. I do appreciate the convenience and the labor required. I needed it removed quickly, otherwise I would have searched for a company with a more competitive rate. Lesson learned! read more

Even though it costs more than other local providers, I chose to pay more for 1-800-Got-Junk because I was familiar with the name and assumed the service would be above average. This was a HUGE mistake. I had a garage full of cardboard boxes. When the team arrived, they said they could clear this with one truck and quoted me for $650. This was a higher price than expected, but I agreed since I needed the boxes gone. Halfway through the job, I took a look at the progress and noticed that their team was not breaking down any of the boxes and had already filled the truck prematurely with 40% of the boxes still in my garage. I called the corporate office for advice and they said that I should confront the team about this - and if they didn't do a satisfactory job, to call corporate back and arrange another free-of-charge pickup to finish the job. When I confronted the team, they told me that they would not break down any boxes because they didn't have a compactor machine. They refused to break down boxes manually and proceeded to fill the truck without breaking the boxes down. They came to my door and said they "finished", but 30% of the boxes were still in my garage. I asked to speak to their manager, but they refused and made me pay so they could leave. They were adversarial with me and claimed that not breaking down boxes was normal and that they would not come back and finish the job. I then called corporate and told them about my situation. They said they opened a case and would resolve this for me. I called back the next day and found out they never logged a case. I then opened a new case and demanded a call from the manager. I eventually got one and he agreed to send a truck ti finish the job at no charge. The next day, when the team arrived, they told me that that they would not finish the job unless I called the corporate office and told them that they did a good job the previous day and that I was happy with them. They held me hostage in an attempt to save themselves from accountability. When I told them I would not do this, they proceeded to have a verbal altercation with me and said that they did a good job the last time and attempt to intimidate me into recanting my statements. I stood my ground, called corporate, and informed them of this horrible situation. They called their manager who then made them finish the job. I've never had such a bad experience at any company in my life. I would encourage everyone to use their local junk removal company and to never use 1-800-Got-Junk. It is not worth it. You will be paying more for terrible service. The attached picture shows what the team left in my garage for their "Complete" job. Easy to schedule a pickup time but it was WAY more than I thought it would be. The only furniture I threw away was a coffee table, a chair and the rest was just trash/junk because at that point, I just wanted it to be done and over with. My bill was over $800. I know I threw away a bunch of stuff but geez! I can't decide if they just used big bags that made it look like the truck was full; who knows. This was my first time using 1-800-GOT-JUNK. I called to speak with someone to see how it worked. I scheduled my pick up of 3 large televisions. I received a text from Anthony, who told me that they were on their way.  Anthony and Terrence arrived within the quoted arrival window and they were wonderful! Completely avoidable damage, for a simple refrigerator move. It has not been 'wrapped up.' The racetrack-like grooves remain, and with the company not listed with the Department of Transportation and refusing to provide evidence of insurance, we have been left with no professional resolution. Dependable, on time, very efficient and pleasant. JonPierre texted me prior to arrival. It was still in the timeframe, but I told them I had an unexpected meeting, and they accommodated this request and the job was done with 15 minutes to spare! I have used the services before, more than 10 years ago and that experience mirrored this one. Scheduling pickups is ridiculously easy and I scheduled mine the night before. The prices have increased. I paid $300 for 1/4 truck. But they gave me gift cards, so that was helpful. I will use them again. read more

So the guys were late getting to my house and only called after I called the customer service line. They were very apologetic. They seemed nice enough. However, the big problem is that they took a headboard and footboard from my room that I did not point out to them to take. I showed them what to take pointing to the king bed. They took my brand new queen headboard and footboard. When I called the 1-800-GOT-JUNK customer service line, I was told I would be contacted to try and resolve the issue. However, I have never heard back from them. I am highly disgusted. I now have to pay off a bed I can't put together because I'm missing the two important pieces. Do NOT use this company. The employees are disrespectful! I paid for a job that they didn't complete because came with a full truck! Promised to come back and did but tried to charge me for job I already paid for. Called me a liar by saying I don't know who is telling the truth! I wanted to thank the two teams of men who worked to clean out my mom's house: Anthony and Terrell, and Rob and Shawn. Both teams worked efficiently and effectively. They were careful to ask if they were unsure if something was "junk" or not. Rob called me twice during their clean out to make sure they were not supposed to take the appliances too and if they were supposed to take a disposal bag from a different company. The only thing I was not completely happy with was the two hour time window. It seems like the jobs are scheduled too close together sometime and they might want to add a way for customers to send pictures of their junk piles to get an idea of how big the job will be. read more

The phone conversations and the set up time for the collection was wonderful. I explained that there were nails where I had placed the trash in my driveway. I wanted to make sure that they would make sure all the nails were removed. I was told that would be no problem. The team arrived on time. I feel the cost was a bit high. They did take the junk. I asked them did you make sure all the nails were gone. They replied "Yes, they did." Off they went. After they left, I found 3 nails right away. I complained to the company. Update: Dear Steve T, Please explain to me how your driver was cut off while driving, when he was stopped at a stop sign right next to Millbrook High School and was turning left onto Spring Forest Rd? I was driving straight and was cut off by him, having to slam on my brakes as hard as I could. Please explain to me how that could possibly have been my fault. Please explain to me how he managed to pull over and speak to another driver about it, when he continued driving and turned onto Atlantic Rd, and the other driver that he cut off continued straight and did not turn? Please explain to me how it's possible that he didn't use any inappropriate gestures, when he honked back at me after I honked at him, I looked over, and he was giving me the finger? Did I not see that? Was he actually trying to hold up a peace sign and lost his index finger in a tragic accident, probably caused by his horrendous driving? Thank you for calling me a liar when I know what I saw, and my husband who was sitting in the passenger seat also knows what he saw. No one cut your driver off. He was driving recklessly and then blatantly lied to you, and now you're lying to me. Feel free to contact my husband by phone to resolve this matter. I had them pop out clear the construction debris from a bathroom remodel and a stump. The bathroom debris was annoying but that stump took me probably two weeks to drag out of the dirt, was an abomination of two species of tree, probably four trunks, and I've been dodging it with the lawn mower for probably three months so. Yea. 10/10. Shout out to Bobby and Connor. It was a pain in the butt to get that stump out of the dirt and I could not move it out from where I dragged it to. read more

I had a great experience today! I needed someone to remove a mattress for me and had a scheduled pick-up window of 10:30 - 12:30. I received a call even earlier than that letting me know they were available if I was and could be there in 15 minutes! They even worked around my work schedule to accommodate a conference call I had to attend. I recently made a specific request to 1-800-GOT-JUNK, letting the person who answered the phone know my needs regarding a pick-up. I recently sold my home and am in a temporary rental while I build a new home. Most of my items are in boxes. I specifically told the person at 1-800-GOT-JUNK that I had boxes for removal but needed to have the men show me the boxes in one room and in a storage area off the deck, so that I would know which ones were for removal. Each box had its contents clearly marked on the tops and/or sides. There were two men who came to my home to do the job. One of them did absolutely nothing, while the other (the lead person) did all of the work. The second one just stood there and complained that my job was taking up too much time and that they needed to move on to the next job. By the way, the timeframe for them arriving at my home was two hours. They came just at the end of this timeframe, so I was waiting two hours before they even started. The lead person got through the small storage area and then helped me look through boxes in the second bedroom. All of this time, the second person did nothing to assist. The only thing he seemed to be able to do was complain. He was also coughing and sniffling a lot. I told him that I had a compromised immune system and could not have a sick person in the home. He insisted that he was fine. Frankly, I do not know why he even came in, when he just stood around not helping. I ended up paying for the job, even though it was not complete. I just wanted this person out of my home! I contacted customer service regarding this issue and later received a call from a manager. He tried to spend a lot of time discussing their "model" with regard to how they worked. I tried to explain to him that I was very specific in my requirements for the job, exactly how I would be for any other vendor. However, he did not seem to want to listen to a customer. He also told me that the person who had been doing no work had gotten great reviews from other customers. Amazing! I told him that these types of reviews would have been very surprising to me and that it was my experience that counted in this situation. I requested that he send another team to complete the job, but he wanted to charge me extra for work that should have been done the first time. I told him that I was no longer interested in using his service and that there were plenty of similar services in the area. In summary, I would never use 1-800-GOT-JUNK and would recommend, based on my experience, that others use a different service as well. read more

This is the biggest rip off! When you set up the appointment online they ask you what you want to have removed but don't give you an estimate. The website tells you that a quote will be given upon arrival. I only had an old big back 36 inch tv, an old small 27 inch tv and a table top from patio furniture that I had in my garage for years that was light weight. They charged me $139. They said the minimum was $99. I'm a single woman and don't have a lot of male friends and I'm in the process of moving. So i was really looking forward to this being removed not thinking that the charges would be this insane. Because I'm in a time crunch I paid it, but I will never call them again! My experience with 1-800-Got-Junk was mostly bad. They were very late and I had to call them to find out where they were. Because they were late, they said they would give me a good discount. I got $10 off my total. I paid well over $250 for them to remove less than a pick truck beds worth of old equipment. I will say that the gentlemen who did come were very apologetic and professional. I feel like I got poor service (because they were more than 1 hour past their expected window) and was ripped off. I would recommend that you look some where else for your junk removal needs. Edit: I had original given 1-800-Got-Junk a 1 star review. After the review the Regional Sales Manager reached out to me and we had a good discussion. That is after only 1 day.
