My husband recently passed away and I wanted to donate his clothes to Goodwill. David who works at the Moraga Good Will store was very compassionate and kind. When I arrived at the store, he came out immediately and carried in all of the bags and boxes. He worked hard and fast and I was grateful for his understanding and hard work. LOVED this location but they are now permanently closed as of 9/14/24 Apparently they'll reopen a few doors down in 6 mos or so.

Great location and Easy curbside drop off- courteous staff. Seems to be the go to for Moraga and Lafayette Goodwill items!

The employees come out and help get your donations out of your vehicle. I love the hours and the ease of dropping of my donations. It is not goodwill's fault but the people that that park in the handicap spot sometimes make it hard too find a place to park, (The Moraga Police do not give tickets for this) Anyway this is the BEST spot for your donations!!!! read more

I should have driven to Salvation Army in Pleasant Hill! The 'greeter guy' looked up and said nothing. He went back to looking at his cell phone. There was one lady in the back, she smiled. The greeter guy did not offer to help, like hold the door open while I carry my 4 trips of donations into Goodwill. It is sad he is the face of Goodwill Donation Center in Moraga. I will NOT recommend nor every drop off there. Consider donating to an organization that cares. read more

Convenient local donation place. As other reviewers say, employees usually don't not talk to us nor have eye contact. The place smells bad... but that's fine, it's a donation place for homeless and alcoholic people. We don't need the service like five star hotel. read more

The customer service here would be a joke, except that nothing's funny about it. First, a short woman came out to put back my drop-off bags. No greeting, and barely acknowledged mine. But that was OK compared to the taller man with a beard who looked down at his paperwork and never looked up at me. I greeted him as well, with a bare response coming back at me. Total silence as I brought my numerous bags inside. When I was done, I asked the man about a receipt. He just pointed to a wall with a bunch of receipts, and stared at me, while I stared back looking for some verbal move. Nada. Just an awful place. read more

I'm cracking up reading the reviews because it's the same observation over and over. Lol, I've been donating here for years. With very few exceptions, every time I come here the employees are bizarrely nonverbal, stare, don't respond to greetings or questions, and act generally bored out of their minds. It really is weird how consistently rude the employees are. But it's the most convenient location and it's Goodwill (not the four seasons). I think people should come here just to experience the weirdness of this place. If you go expecting people to barely acknowledge you and mostly ignore you, it's actually pretty funny. read more

Love this Goodwill Donation Center. The place is always clean, tidy, and smells freshly mopped. Love the huge parking lot right outside the door. Associates roll out a big clean cart when they see people coming. The helpers graciously assist me even if my car is parked further away. I don't understand the negative comments. Seems most negative reviews were during the 2020 pandemic. What are people in expecting? A 5-star luxury hotel concierge service? The hotels weren't even open for business! But Goodwill was open for people to clear out their stuff! read more

I called in advance to see if they were taking donations, they said yes. So I drove the 6 miles to the store in order to drop my stuff off. When I got there, there was a sign saying "we are full" and we will only take one bag per person. It would've been nice if they told me this over the phone, and now I have a bunch of stuff in my trunk that I do not know what to do with. read more

The location is quite convenient which is a plus. But that being said, the employees are not very helpful. I was left with the distinct impression that at least one of them thought that they were doing me a big favor. I'd rather not donate here. But at least they didn't toss my stuff (some glassware) into a big pile like the the Pleasant Hill location. I thought that part of Goodwill's mission was job training? Oh Goodwill you must re-think your way of doing business! Take a look at Sacramento County and the superb manner in which they conduct their businesses! At this particular store nothing was hung up according to size. If one is interested in clothes you must shuffle through the overcrowded racks to find your size. I did find a pair of jeans but upon asking a rather bored & rude employee the price I instantly returned them to the rack! I can go to Ross or TJMaxx and find a compatible pair of jeans for less money! After all Goodwill these are donations so asking outrageous prices is not only a turn off but an insult to all consumers!! I adore the Sacramento Goodwill stores! Each & every one of their stores are clean, priced to sell, sized and hung according to color of item & the employees actually have manners! I refuse to donate to Goodwill after finding it to be such a chore! And the employees accepting the donations are rude and appear to hate their jobs! Please Goodwill Management team-take a look at some stores in Sac and you'll see how a store is ran like clockwork! I'd much rather drive 90 minutes to shop rather than travel a few miles and be disappointed , angry & bitter at the degree of the Goodwills around here! read more

Very unpleasant employees. The short-statured woman completely ignored my cheerful good morning greeting and never even looked at me. I guess common courtesy is too much to expect from this group. Maybe they need to be reminded we are the ones doing them a favor, not the other way around. If there were nearby alternatives I'd definitely recommend going elsewhere. read more

0 stars if I could. This donation center should just close. Stopped by at 5pm on Saturday to drop off items and the place was closed despite the hours being until 8pm. I've dropped off here before and it was a very unpleasant experience. The person didn't speak to me so I literally sat down my items right inside the door and left. Ahhh the local suburbia goodwill. I grew up in Moraga, and always dumped my clothes off at this location. You walk in and there is just a counter. Alot of donated stuff sitting everywhere around the perimeter of the store. Never had a problem with the guys workin' there, always seem nice. +Close to my dad's house to drop off random junk for them to take care of - Looks kinda messy +Easy parking Conclusion: If you gotta go, you gotta go! read more

If only I can give zero or half a star just because of this one employee, I would! We have two extra large boxes of things to get rid off. We drove to this Goodwill location and there were two women just standing behind the counter and didn't even help us open/hold the door while we were trying to get inside carrying a huge heavy box. One of the women asked us what's inside so I said mix of clothes, plates, and some miscellaneous items. She all of a sudden started cursing why we mixed everything in one box without even seeing how organized the inside of the box is.I tried to ignore it but she just kept on going and then blurted out "this is a stupid box!". First of all, we are not going to waste the space inside the box and box everything separately. We did not just throw everything into the box. We made sure it is organized and easy to unbox everything inside. They don't have a policy that donations should be packed at a certain way. This woman, named Maria, should not be working at any Customer Service if she has this awful, rude attitude! Without all these donations coming in, she would be jobless! She should be thankful that she has a job and not give nasty attitude to their customers. read more

It's Goodwill, y'all. This donation drop off location is convenient, and they accept all sorts of donations. I appreciate that there is ample parking and the hours are also very accommodating. I have been able to free myself from bags and bags of items from various times I have cleaned out closets, garage, kids rooms, etc. For what the purpose is of the place, I give it 5 stars because I find that it fulfills an important need and I appreciate that. read more

Fix your hours. I left work early, arrived at 4:50 pm and it's closed. Don't put your hours as open till 5 and close up 10+ minutes early..

I have been trying to donate items, but have just been outside their 9am-5pm hours. On Sunday, got there at 8:53am. All the workers were there, but they resolutely refused to accept my items, and refused with attitude. This was a good reminder that I should be donating to the Cancer Thrift store in Walnut Creek -- so I will make the extra trek and donate where they appreciate the donors. read more

This Goodwill is horrible and disgusting. We went to make a donation of clothing (cleaned) and other items and they could care less. The women at the counter was literally stuffing her face with food,couldn't be bothered with us. The man ignored us. We asked for a recipe for the donation and no receipts..saying come back some other time. The place was filthy! NEVER AGAIN!! shame on Goodwill read more

Great, nearby place to drop off used items and clothing. They've accepted everything I've brought in (except clothes hangers). I feel good getting rid things I no longer need or want hoping it'll benefit someone else. Walk in, drop your bagged items on the counter, and you're done. They'll ask you if want a receipt for tax purposes and then wish you a good day. read more

Could not have been easier to drop off our donations! Very nice employee. Lots of donations crowding the front, which is great for people in need. We were given a receipt with a tax Id number, so we could claim the donation on our taxes. We'll be sure to donate here more often! read more

I wish I could give a negative 1-star. The all-time worst goodwill drop-off location. What a bunch of lazy ungrateful "workers". I would rather throw my perfectly good (and sometimes unused) items in the dumpster than donate in support of this horrible store. Apparently no one told these idiots what quality of items would be donated in this zip code. It's time for this location to replaced by two 40-yard dumpsters - your items would be more welcome at the garbage dump. read more

Went in yesterday to drop of several bags of clothing and a few boxes of picture frames and other miscellany. The women at the desk was so rude. First, the counter was totally full and when I started to put them on the floor, she barked at me "Donations go on the counter.!" "Then you're going to need to clear some space," I replied. She cleared a bit of space while mumbling something under her breath. I asked for a receipt but she turned and walked to the back. "Excuse me," I called. "I need a receipt." "We don't have no receipts," she said. "Can you write something on a piece of paper?" I asked. "We don't do that." When pressed, her reply was that I should return sometime when they do have receipts. "And how will I know when that is?" She shrugged. No greeting, no gratitude. This young woman needs some serious customer service training. Meanwhile, I will look for another place to bring my donations. read more
