But I pray to the lord you never have to encounter "Nancy" who is an old mean nasty woman who works at this location. She was beyond horrible!!!! She was overseeing the dressing room and my lord I pray I never have to see this person again. She was inappropriate and so beyond rude to me and my daughter. I talked to the manager and they weren't surprised.."I'm so sorry, I honestly hear this all the time..she really should retire", I pray for this poor managers sake and all of the people of Bend, Oregon that this woman leaves. I was hoping to find all the treasures in Bend, alas, they were nowhere to be found. Yeah, you can grab a preowned snowboard at a decent price, but I was underwhelmed overall. There were a couple of nice pairs of Toms and Sperry boots for $19.99 or less, but none in my size. Had our SUV rental not been fully packed I would've taken home the vintage outdoor patio teacart for $13, a steal really, with matching chairs at $9 each. I found the shelves to be more baren than most other 'Superstores'. Unfortunate, and it makes me wonder if GW is redistributing the good stuff to boutique stores to increase their profit margin vs making quality resale available to those in need. read more

I have given up on Goodwill and won't be going back! There prices are Ridiculous. Non-Profit, really! They have become very Greedy, you won't find any treasures there cuz they grab them all and put up for Auction or put in their online Store. This is a decent Goodwill in the least, a GOOD Goodwill on average visits. I have no complaints about this spot and the staff that work here, super helpful and do the best they can to keep up with the bustling crowds that steamroll through this place. My only issue might be the parking lot entrance and if that is all you can complain about then they must be doing something right! read more

Everything expensive as hell jeans for 40$ used, the employees are usually friendly but would rather not talk to anyone and are usually incredibly unhelpful. The place is dirty and honestly looks abandoned. Never has good stuff and if they do it's broken. Found a lava lamp here and when I picked it up the bottle part came out and squirted into my eyes. Upon further inspection a found a whole lemon inside the lava lamp floating around with mold. Don't go here very un satisfied! read more

Good selection for a Goodwill, lots of product but expensive! Not sure why Goodwill jacked prices so high but the manager marked OVER the manufacture's clearance price tags. Really odd and the staff said "I don't know my manager did it" and had zero intention of correcting the price hike. Staff is friendly but not effective. read more

I shop here every time we come to Bend. I always find nice items and I find the store to be cleaned and organized. The staff isn't overly enthusiastic or happy- but they aren't rude and they are pleasant enough. The prices are way too high- but so are all the Goodwills in Oregon. I saw $50 Banana Republic, $60 Michael Kors and $20 for Kohl's (Croft&Barrel) on my last visit. (See photos). Feedback to manager: you obviously have many kind folks in Bend that donate to your cause. Too much- your racks are very hard to browse as they are stuffed full with kind donations. Side (long) note: Really wish the Goodwills were like The Southern states and had set prices. (All items within their respective category have the same price tag ; $6 jeans and coats $4 shirts $5 shoes- you get the point). This makes is so much more enjoyable for us thrifters who enjoy the thrill of finding an awesome deal on something amazing. Set pricing is easier for staff and would remove the need for the dreaded black sharpie marking the price on the inside of every item of clothing (I can't even imagine how much longer it takes staff to price each item differently and then mark the price inside the clothing. - yikes!) Seemed like a typical Goodwill with lots of goodies and decent prices. We found a number of things here and would come back again.

I always find a great deal on clothes for the kids and me. The special finds are a great piece of furniture or that one of kind taco prep holding tray that you didn't know you would consider a family heirloom you'd want to pass on to your kids. Have a great day! read more

I used to love shopping at this store, but the last few times things have been considerably over priced. Actually found things with Dollar Tree stickers on them selling for $4.99. Most clothing seems like more of "boutique" store pricing. Also, dropped off donations, only to be treated extremely rude by the donation person. While I was unloading my things, at their convenience, I was told to calm down and be patient and not put things on the ground (a side table), while they leisurely dug through my donation bags deciding what was acceptable and not. It seemed like my donations to help their store out was more of a burden to him, than something to be appreciative of. They about lost my donations that day. I was disheartened by Helen B's review and wanted to lend my voice. I absolutely love our Goodwill. My Husband and I have lived in Central Oregon our entire lives (But have spent time in Santa Barbara, Hawaii and Seattle) and since opening, this Goodwill has consistently provided quality pricing, customer service and cleanliness. Sure; some things are going to be spendier than expected from time to time. But that's EVERY STORE in EVERY city around the nation. However, the majority of the time, prices are absolutely what one would expect from Goodwill. As far as the Customer Service? Excellent! For as busy as they get, I think they do an AWESOME job. In fact, I would also say that compared to most Goodwill stores, ours is one of the most organized and friendly. I don't find the employees "uncomfortably elder, infirm, debilitated or uninterested in their jobs". Instead I find them to be kind, hard working, decent, working Joe's like the rest of us. In fact, I think a review with name calling speaks greater volumes of the PERSON WRITING THE REVIEW than of the true experience. Shame on you. May you soften your heart and express an educated opinion when it can be used for solution based IMPROVEMENTS. Versus just ignorance and complaining to complain with no real ideas on how to improve things. And Im sorry but "security following you around with an earpiece??" That's just ... ridiculous. And (gasp!!) you say he looks like a SNOWBOARDER? (cringe!!) Heaven forbid! It's not like we're in Bend where 95% of the population are outdoor enthusiasts and snow aficionados. Oh my gosh! The manager of this store MUST get fired! Who gives you the right to charge $50 for a pair of used jeans? You can buy NEW jeans same brand online at nordstrom rack or on poshmark for even cheaper. I saw at least 10 pairs of jeans priced for $50. Lets be real, not everyone can afford to pay $175 for new jeans so middle class people like us come to thrift to buy used pair for a lot less! Not $50! You guys are ridiculous. Dear Bend donators. Sixteen years in Bend and my first visit in to Goodwill was one week ago. As many items as I've donated to the nice folks at the drop off truck at Newport Avenue Market, I had never had the curiousity to visit the store. Until now. What a pleasant surprise! Bright, well lit, well organized store, it even smelled good in there. Friendly people said "we hope to see you again" as we exited ...empty handed. THE PRICING CONUNDRUM Offering counterpoint to other reviewers here who suggest Goodwill prices are too high, maybe it's because I haven't been in before or don't have a frame of reference for what they should be, but I found the prices low. As example... ...a pair of women's Italian flats in a brand that are over $100 new at shoe retailers and which looked as if they had been worn less than six times were on the rack for under $20.. ...an Ethan Allen armoire in the old Country Crossings design style from the '80s that was in great shape, but for reattaching one piece of hardware and tightning up a door hinge, was marked $25. ...a Jessica McClintock prom-worthy short dress-gown that looked as it if had but one wearing, was adorable for a teen and under $25. Books and glassware and dishes were all equally as bargain priced. From my perch at least they seemed so. THE POLICY ISSUES I'm never going to be a Goodwill shopper as I simply can't learn the knack of resale store shopping as hard as I've tried. And there are issues about which I disagree with Goodwill policy setters as matters of philosophy for how their employees who are disabled are paid. Which is to say they are not paid a full minimum wage in many cases and that is a matter being legally contested with them by disability rights organizations. I hope those organizatiions win the day. In the meantime, setting those politics aside for people in Bend who are wanting good deals on used merchandise, this was a much better store than I expected all around. AOK it is. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING is ample in the strip mall lot. 2) ACCESSIBILITY is just as it should be from parking lot through the door and throughout the level space with ample clear floor space in access aisles. 3) SHOP WISELY as there are no returns...but you can always redonate the items at any of a number of drop off spots throughout Bend. 4) LOCATION is roughly just across the street from the Bend Outlet Mall. Talk about shops where you need to be cautious you are not overpaying for the goods being sold! read more

The Bend, OR, Goodwill is a pretty big store, but we didn't find anything to buy there. As other reviewers have noted, it's very overpriced ($30 for nothing-special shoes?). As with all Goodwills, the store was clean and well-organized, and this one was fairly big. They do have the colored tags, at least, so you might be able to get a bargain that way if you're willing to dig. I lived in Indiana for 67 years and did business with Goodwill for past 50 years. In Indiana you could drop off items after hours and on weekends. Not Here, Twice I have been threatened with 1500.00 fined if I dropped off a few minutes early. Furthermore when they are open they are not friendly or helpful. They act like they are doing me a favor to even taking my stuff. I will never take anything to this store again. I will throw away good clothes before I give them anything else. read more

This is the most expensive Goodwill I've ever been to (more expensive than LA, Seattle, and SF). Sweaters run about $10 and up, some jackets are as much as $50. Free things that they didn't have to pay for, and then they massively up charge.. it feels like a rip off. read more

Still so overpriced here, may be worse than before... Stopped in to get some hiking boots and a jacket but couldn't find anything of decent quality for less than $30. I found several other items $25+ that had stains, rips, holes, etc. They see a familiar brand or something that seems nice and they slap a price tag on them without even looking at the condition. worked for Goodwill for 6 years, even managed in Idaho. That said, i will not be going back ever again. They have been getting more and more selective with their donations and have turned us away a few times. That is their right, but today is the last straw. Today, Saturday the 2nd at 5 pm we started unloading after waiting a long time in line. We had a chair that had maybe four or five small snags in the cream fabric that could have been trimmed off but was in great condition otherwise. He stated he would have to decline it. Given how many times we have been declined, we decided we would donate somewhere else, so I started loading up what we had back into our car and said "ok, have a good day." The employee snarked "really? over a chair?" And that was it. How dare you decide to be rude to me when I am giving you free stuff. You have the right to decline my donation. That's fine. But I also have the right to decide where to take it, and I will not give my items to someone who is snarky and rude. I am so disappointed, I worked as a donation attendant for a long time. I would never have treated anyone this way. We will never be donating here again. read more

The superstore in Bend is a well organized and clean store when I go in. The prices are lower than the ones i frequent in Southern Oregon. Plus, the clothing is separated in sizes which they don't do in Southern Oregon stores. read more

Pretty much every time I drop stuff off at this location, the employees are extremely rude. I have to agree with another review that they are also pretty judgemental. I went in today to drop off some hangers and the dude looked at the bag and said they're not going to take this they're just going to throw it out. I have literally found half used bags of diapers in this place. I've even tried taking in some dining room chairs and they said that they wouldn't take them because they were too used. The furniture that this place gets is also not in the best condition so I don't understand why they wouldn't take mine. I feel like this location has kind of gone downhill in recent years, especially with the customer service. read more

Terrible service! My family and I went in and found a helmet for our daughter. The tag was marked $1.99 and as we went to pay we were told that the price is wrong. We were treated like criminals for their employees "mistake" because they felt it was too cheap. They are freaking goodwill! There is such thing as too cheap!? Well they said they needed to price check it or we need to pay $2.99. So they make a fuss over a dollar? Wow...we paid our wrongly forced price and left. The employees are incompetent. I find some good, quality items at this Goodwill. A lot of Target items get donated here and the furniture section seems to always have something nice. The store is neat, clean and organized. However..... The prices at this Goodwill are completely outrageous. This stuff is donated! I simply feel like this store takes the donations and marks the prices up WAY TOO HIGH. A button up flannel $24.99? Used and outdated snow jacket $49.99? The list goes on and on... Not only that, but I have yet to find a colored tag for 50% off. Sad huh? Come on...... There was a time when Goodwill sold things at a good price. They had people fixing things and cleaning them up to sell and those people were paid to do that. I look at the things in this store and it makes me walk out every time. I come back periodically and check to see if they've gone down on their prices but nope. They used to have clothes bins where with clothes were. 69 cents.. Then it was .99 cents...1.20...2.99. Then they got rid if the bins all together. Now they just put the ripped, stained, worn stuff in there with the rest. Total rip off here. Compared to other thrift stores, Goodwill sucks. read more

Like everyone else said this goodwill is waaaay too overpriced. It's frustrating that they get these items for free and charge so much- most shirts seem to be between 7.99- 12.99 dresses average around 12.99 lately, and jackets .. Jeez- and God help you if you happen to like something that is a Bendite staple like Patagonia, prana, or Birkenstocks :( add another 50-80% to the price tag!! One visit is forever etched in my mind- I was new to bend and just went to this goodwill- I tried on a skirt and then looked down at the tag... $99.99!!! I politely asked the associate if this was a mistake- they curtly said- "Well it's a name brand so it's worth more".. Ugh it was a banana republic silk blend but it's not like it was handmade couture!! You can consistently find donations from target at goodwill selling for more than target charges :( The books, CDs, DVDs, and video games are also overpriced They also have this special glass case up front full of "corporate new donations" - so they should only be brand new things donated from companies-but I have seen nicer brand items go into that case that were on the regular sales floor the week before (used) so they can try to get away with charging even more! The people at the drop-off (especially one elderly man in particular) are super rude and condescending/judgmental about what is being donated. The prices have just gotten crazy high for USED STUFF! Nothing is priced less than $1, even if it's a small piece of cheap plastic. This place used to be my go-to store but not anymore. This is a nice, large Goodwill location. However, price-wise it is more of a nice second-hand store than a thrift store. If you are looking for massive bargains, you can do better elsewhere, BUT, if you are looking for really solid items at an extremely fair price, this is the place for you. There really is no junk here, only nicer items. The store is clean and well-organized. It is nicer than a lot of department stores in this regard. The volunteers are also extremely helpful and welcome questions. My suggestion is to utilize their help to find the best stuff. I was able to get a next-to-new Coach purse for $25 (in one of the locked cases), and a Michael Kors jacket that looked like it had never been worn for $20. Ka-Chiiiiinggggg! This store is definitely on my list of stores to visit on the bargain circuit. I do consider it to be more on the Mercedes end of the spectrum, as opposed to the Yugo end, but great deals are there for the taking if you are looking hard enough. read more

When I read all these reviews from people complaining that the prices were too high, I laughed out loud! Prices too high at Goodwill? You have to be kidding, I thought. Well, after finally checking the place out, I see what they mean. Mind you, this review applies solely to their (large) book collection. I was stoked to see such a big selection of books but I couldn't believe they are asking $3-5 for most of the PAPERBACK books I picked up to check out. I can see if they are in brand new condition and they are recent titles but some of the examples I saw were absurd. I'll give you just one example: A Rick Steves Guidebook from, get this, 2001 was $5! We are talking about a 13 year old guidebook! 5 bucks? It should be 50 cents. I like to support a good cause, but I don't like to overpay. The paperbacks they sell for $3-5 in this place go for 50 cents up to a max of $2 at the semi-annual Bend Library book sales (another good cause). The next one is coming up in January so I'll wait.
