The Goodspeed crew took in my older, formerly peppy but currently lackluster car with 100k+ and a broken turbo on it, recommended a performance upgrade package within the budget parameters I gave them, and gave my car new life. It's a ten year old car, but it's now more fun to drive than ever, and GTIs are usually pretty enjoyable as-is. The manager, staff and mechanics were all very focused on giving my car the best service possible, being thorough with both repairs and communication, all without cutting corners and keeping me close to my budget. Took my G82 here for some seriously basic mods. Engine bay intake (they did install, but left off one of the O rings - even if it was missing PRIOR to them installing - a quality shop would let you know, get a replacement O ring, and make sure it's properly installed prior to handing your keys back). They charge a premium on labor and have high school / college kids doing the actual work. Springs - During spring install, they punctured my OEM auxiliary radiator and then proceeded to argue with me over providing me a replacement (yes the replacement part is a step up from OEM, but NO it wasn't something I planned to do at that point, and surely wasn't expecting to pay for it!) Exhaust - had them install a single midpipe. Left with an awful rattle at low RPMs, had to take it back a few days later, wait for 2-3 hours, and they couldn't figure it out. I did my own research and found valve controllers which fixed the problem - the fact they had no idea and sent me on me way just tells you how little these "techs" know and how poor the quality of work is over here. Reach out for an excellent referral I've been working with since. Much more reasonable labor, very transparent and honest, and actually does all the hands on work himself instead of subbing to junior techs. read more

I brought my MK6 GTI in for a diagnostic due to bogging down at around 2,500-3,000 RPM, I had replaced my High Pressure Fuel Pump and Fuel Pump thinking that was my issue. Turns out it wasn't and they figured out it was a Camshaft Position Sensor and the car is running perfectly after I replaced the part at home. As soon as I walked in the front I was greeted by the man at the counter, i really wish i remembered his name but he was super cooperative and answered any questions I had. I will definitely be bringing my car back here for any of my issues and tuning! read more

About a week or so ago I brought my porsche in for it's first oil change since I purchased it, this place was recommended to me by a friend, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the work they did was fantastic. They even installed a cupholder for me while they had the oil changed as well. I will definitely be back the next time I need to have the oil changed again. read more

If you tell them you will be tuning your car somewhere else they get butthurt and won't help you out, will lie about other companies products that they know nothing about. They have one person who can test an ECU through the adapter, they don't sell it and if he's not there then they will charge 3 hours of labor + 250 for a 3 second process with the adapter. Was told multiple times id get a call back, nothing. No email back, and finally I was told to come in on Monday, Luis answered the phone and said they were gone ALL day long. They close the shop multiple hours early . Was a previous customer but not anymore. They are hiring , somebody teach them customer service . They also have maybe 3 employees it seems like. Well tbh i dont know where to start i have an audi a8 i called and inquired about having it tuned nothing crazy just something to make my car a bit more responsive i spoke with a guy named luis who was just down right rude from the start. Today, 04/04/2022 I called to schedule an appointment for the second week of August to have my built 2012 Silverado tuned. Because I elected to do the build myself, they have refused to even schedule an appointment to see the truck and the work that has gone in to it. The truck will have: Whipple w140ax Supercharger kit Circle D 300mm Triple disc torque converter TSP stage 2 212/218 .550 114 LSA cam shaft Holley Longtube headers Walbro 450 fuel/E85 pump All new genuine GM engine management sensors MLS head gaskets ARP Head studs (over kill for 8 psi of boost) 100% New valve train (GM performance LS7 lifters, Hardened Chromoly pushrods, New rocker arms, TSP .550 Valve Springs) Heads will be machined by Zimmerman Racing Engines. All I ask is to be taken serious with an appointment, to have the work evaluated and when deemed excellent, the vehicle tuned. I sincerely hope this shop takes a different approach and realizes in an industry quickly becoming electrified, car enthusiast, such as myself will be their only future clientele. read more

This place is the best, got my 840i tuned and it turned out great. Most recently took my x5m in to see if they could tune it. Unfortunately the ecu is locked so they can't do it at the moment but they said they would let me know as soon as it's available. In this industry, it's common for shops to over promise and tell you that they can do things that in fact they can't do. What I've always loved about Goodspeed is their transparency, if they can't do something the right way, they will tell you. Which I appreciate, couldn't recommend them enough!! I asked them to install a tune on Map2, they decided not to do that and then when I asked about it again they basically tried to talk me out of it. Jon and his team performed a big repair on our 2012 Audi A4: the engine blew up and needed to be replaced by another one. Jon and his team did an amazing job in a short period of time. If you think you have a good mechanic, that would just be like a family doctor, but these guys are the true heart surgeons! They are incredibly knowledgable about the smallest details of how engines work and diagnosing problems. In our case the first engine that they ordered from a certified supplier did not live up to their quality standards. As an effect the supplier sent another engine with way less miles, for the same price, which they directly passed on to us. A-m-a-z-i-n-g! I love my car. Perhaps to an unhealthy level. I just have to put that out on the table immediately in attempt to add some weight to the following statements. Since I found Goodspeed, when I am working on my car, I look to Goodspeed first. I go here for my oil and filters (They've got Motul oil. Simply the best!) I went here when I had trouble with my air intake and they helped me sort it out. When I started getting a check engine light related to my turbo, I went in here with my suspicions of the cause. I talked to Jon for a couple minutes to describe the problem, he reached under the counter, pulled out a part and said "This is what you need right here." And guess what? He was right! I will continue referring my friends here, and going here for all my needs, most especially when I start doing more serious tuning of my car. I may live 30 miles away, but it's absolutely worth the trek. read more

Disappointed. These guys did a mediocre job installing an adjustable spring/damper set on my car, aka, "coilovers". I filled out the sheet to specify how low I wanted the car, front and rear, and they basically did whatever was easiest for them. I ended up with negative rake meaning that the rear was lower than the front. Way lower. Quite visibly lower. To the point where people asked me,"did you only lower the rear"? Goodspeed fed me some BS line about springs settling, blah blah blah. I finally took the time to correct it myself and now I see why they didn't want to fix it. Adjusting the rears is a pain in the butt! Tight fit, requires the lower arm to be unbolted to unload the spring perch and also the damper length needs to be adjusted. It's not fun, which I why I paid Goodspeed in the first place. Also, Goodspeed set the rear left just over one centimeter lower than the rear right. I finally got it adjusted properly on my own. I don't 100% blame Goodspeed. I mean, I should have pushed back harder against their BS excuses and made them set the height according to the sheet I filled out for them ahead of time. My bad. But wait, there's more. Shortly after the install, I started getting a weird clunking from the rear left. After checking everything I could, I took it to the dealership. Took them a while too, but they figured out that the lower bolt for the rear damper had come loose. Now I can't say whether or not it was Goodspeed's fault or not. I don't know if they torqued it down properly or not. And it isn't terribly unexpected for fasteners to require re torquing after a few hundred miles. So I don't completely blame Goodspeed. But that bolt doesn't really receive much stress, it isn't load bearing, so it really should stay the first time. Anyway, just a heads up. Inspect their work before you leave and demand what you paid for. read more

The inspection fee was well worth it, as it saved me thousands on future repairs (and gave me some negotiation ammo with the dealer). New to the area and found GSPL while searching for a reputable business to bring my 1992 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR in for a proper oil change. I stopped in and the team took the time to visually inspect the car prior to scheduling the car. They asked what kind of oil was in the car and had to special order the filter. After the oil change the car had developed a heavy leak, which was not unexpected, the car had a janky oil cap being used and it was end-of-life. I scheduled a follow-up visit where they modified and fitted a new oil drain plug. Ever since the leak has been eliminated. In all I am impressed with their knowledge, willingness, and fair price. Had the APR Stage 1 tune performed on my Audi A4. What a difference it makes, but the real difference makers are the staff at Goodspeed P. L. What an asset Jalene is to this shop. Her assistance and her manner on the phone prompted me to pursue this upgrade. Having found Goodspeed on the Internet, and having no preconceived position on what to expect, I proceeded with caution and I assumed I would consult other shops before proceeding. The time Jalene spent providing insight into the shop and its offerings won the day. With my curiosity piqued I arrived at the shop, but did so not fully committed to proceed. This is where Jon made the difference. His product knowledge and insight into the principles that support this upgrade appeared to border on encyclopedic. To his credit, he first pointed out issues that should be considered before deciding to do the upgrade. Only then did he discuss the performance advantages. I just got my 2005 MK4 Jetta GLI 1.8T back from Goodspeed Performance Lab. I had and APR Stage I tune, APR Carbonio Intake, and an APR R1 Diverter valve installed today (Saturday, September, 2017). The car is a project that has 156K miles, just a toy that I wanted years ago but could never afford back then. Goodspeed again did a fantastic job on the VW. This is the third car that has been tuned and upgraded by Goodspeed for me and I am extremely happy everytime. I highly recommend Jon and Goodspeed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. I was scammed over $600 and they did NO REPAIRS on my vehicle. They had my vehicle for FOUR DAYS and did NO work on it when I had scheduled weeks in advance and put a deposit down for the parts and labor. They were not apologetic and have the worst customer service I have ever had in my entire life. They do not care about you, or your car. I spoke directly with the owner and he is very arrogant and greedy. They did not work on my car when they said they were, and did not provide any help when I was without a car for four days for literally no reason because they did not even start on my vehicle. Long story longer, they charged me labor fees for having my car. I will tell every single person I know about this, and I really hope this review helps you out. Decided to stop in to see what they could do for my Ecoboost Mustang. Tanner really knows his stuff when it comes to the Ecoboost. I recently bought a modded C63s from CA. Right away it threw a CEL. Needless to say I was furious. Then I was faced with where to take it for analysis. I called Weistec (car has Weistec turbos and tune) and they recommended Goodspeed. I took it there right away and spoke with John. I gave him all the history I was aware of...even though I know it was previously worked on by another local performance shop (the person I bought it from actually bought it from someone in Scottsdale and took it to CA). He agreed to look at it, despite not knowing the vehicles complete history and having at least two other performance shops tinkering with it. I was grateful he was willing to take on this project. Within a day he had found the culprit but warned me that this was simply a starting point and it could lead to the discovery of other issues, but was optimistic due to this being a common problem with this model car. I was given a projected date for completion and I left it in his capable hands. Due to some cancellations, John was able to work on the car earlier than I expected. He got the problem fixed but then ran into another issue. He was able to troubleshoot that quickly and repair it as well, all while keeping me posted and informed along the way. I picked it up a week before promised and couldn't be happier. The car rips, and runs like the angry beast it should with the list of mods it has. It's been three weeks since having it and no issues...other than me needing more rubber. I have a permanent smile on my face. This Benz runs like a champ thanks to John and Goodspeed.
