Hopefully they didn't do nothing to it to make it run bad it was running perfectly fine when we took it in. I'll start by saying this was our family's go‑to place for years. We have genuinely kept this place in business. But the last few times we brought our cars in, the experience was awful. There's a "customer service" guy, Mike, who is a complete misogynist (look it up, Mike). He was completely disrespectful to my wife and treated her like she didn't have a clue. He overcharged for every service, and she had to correct him multiple times. We brought our car in another time because pack rats had gotten into the engine. Mike went on and on about how it was going to cost thousands of dollars because they had probably chewed everything up. We explained they had only been there one night. Sun Devil charged an exorbitant amount to "check everything" and clean it up. There was no damage (wrong again, Mike). And even after paying a hefty price, they didn't clean the engine well at all. Mark and his team have always taken care of my old Dodge Dakota. I had a new noise start in my truck and it turned out to be the power steering pulley and belt had gone bad. I have always had excellent service at Sun Devil at reasonable cost. Previous to this repair, I had, extensive repair done to my truck and I signed up for the Sun Devil credit card to take advantage of the discount and no interest for six months payments. The company managing the credit card is CFNA. It took CFNA nearly two months to get my card to me. I called three times to tell them the card had not arrived. On the third call it was discovered there had misspelled my address. You would think it would have been found the first time I called, but they would not do anything for 30 days. Needless to say I am not impressed with CFNA and Sun Devil should look elsewhere for someone to handle their credit card service, read more

You've had the car for 3 days and NOW you tell us to take it elsewhere?? Incompetent morons. 3 days and 2 tow trucks later, we took her car to the dealership and it got seen the same day. We used the one on 90th in Scottsdale. My father, who is 88, brought his 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe in for a loud noise. They told him it was his power steering pump. They proceeded to fix it and went through 3 different pumps. My dad got the car back and the steering was real tight. He figured it would loosen up as time went by. Well, it eventually totally locked up. You could barely drive it. I was lucky to get it back to their facility without getting into an accident. When they looked at it they told us that there was a bolt that had loosened up and all the power steering fluid had leaked out. They told us that someone else had to have worked on the vehicle after them and loosened it, because they would never have released he car like that. NO ONE TOUCHED IT OUTSIDE OF THEM!!! They apparently fixed it again, but it still did not work. They then told us it could now be something else because the pump had gone dry. I advised my father to take it to the Hyundai dealer and get it fixed right. Hyundai said the power steering fluid they used was the wrong fluid, there was a leak in the hose coming from the pump. I have gone to sun devil auto for over two years and always thought it was the best value for oil change until today. I went in for a conventional oil change as I usually do. When the car was finished and they rang me up it came out to $68 with a $10 coupon. It seemed high compared to what I remembered paying. I asked the person ringing me up if their prices had gone up and he replied "maybe." I then checked the last two charges from there- for the same service and both were around $45. I told the employee this and he said "oh." No other comments. I received a survey link when I got home and explained what had just happened and my surprise. Within a few minutes I got an email from the manager with nothing in the text just an attachment of my invoice. So weird. Nothing about the price hike or how it was handled. Hi, I am a customer of the FLW store. I referred my brother in for a battery today. He called ahead and spoke with Mark who quoted him $250 including a 5 year warranty for a battery for his Hummer. Dan went in a noon and Mark told him the battery guy was on lunch and that Dan needed to come back at 2. Dan did so. When he arrived he checked in with Mark and by 2:30 the Hummer was taken back. The tech came and sat down next to Dan and told him that the battery was very expensive, $450 with a 5 year warranty. Dan was shocked. He went over to Mark who said the price was really $450 and not $250. Mark said that sometimes these batteries are more expensive. Dan told Mark that he could get the same battery at Batteries Plus for $180 with a 2 year warranty. Mark stuck to his $450 price. Dan was outraged, felt baited and switched and left the premises. I called and spoke Eric at the same location. I told him this story. He said that Mark quoted from his experience without actually looking up the car. I said that Sun Devil should honor the price that Dan was quoted and Eric said that was not possible but he would speak with Mark about his quoting the next time a Hummer comes in. This is just not acceptable. My brother came to your store on a positive recommendation, was baited and switched and sent packing. This is bad business and that shop should be ashamed of itself. My brother now has to take more time off work on another day and go find a battery elsewhere. We will not be back and I will be telling my friends just how I feel about Sun Devil Auto. I would not recommend. To start; I should have been notified they were having issues with apple pay. Other locations were also able to verify that apple pay has been an issue. I was without my car for 3 extra days due to this as I just moved here and was having my new bank card shipped. They claim my card getting denied over apple pay was an issue on the card/bank's end, but I verified everything with my bank and the bank said it is something that is put in place with this location's POS system. Sam claims they stopped offering the pay-link option after covid, which again, is a joke in itself. On top of that, not being able to have a solution (other than having the physical card in hand) for a customer that is wanting to pay them $2.5k for overpriced repairs is absurd. I will not be back. Upper-Management lacks brain cells. They'd rather waste their customer's time and overcharge for a half-a**ed repair job. Stay away from this location. My car's work should not have taken longer than 8hrs total to work on. Some how I got charged over $1300 in labor plus the parts which seemed overpriced as well. To top it all off, after I got my car back and drove it a little bit, I noticed a very off smell coming from the engine. 3 of the parts had plastic left on them and 2 had paper tags on them-both of which would be very hazardous and could start a whole fire/destroy my car. I'd recommend anywhere else besides sun-devil auto. Poor business practices, poor upper-management. Dropped my car off here today with a basic repair of three dashboard lights flashing (oil, routine maintenance and airbag off). The store called me to tell me the car was ready, and never told me that they did not remedy one of the issues for which I had dropped it off or there were any problems with my repair request. When I got in my car I realized one of the items (airbag light) was still on and not fixed. I was extremely frustrated since my car had been at the shop for nine hours that day, and I had to pay to Uber to and from work, making it extremely inconvenient to have to return another day to fix this issue. The store was unwilling to have anyone look at it while I was still there and the clerk, Sam, was super unsympathetic to my problem and unapologetic that anything went wrong which makes the matter even worse, He simply put his hands up in the air and said nothing he can do. This was in July of 2022 btw: Wanted a new serpentine belt. They ordered a belt which turned out to be the wrong size. They insist it's because my 2010 car is actually a 2009 because it says 09/09 on the sticker on the door jam. Never heard this about my car before. All my paperwork says it's a 2010. They said they can't get the right size belt until the next day so I had to go back after they put the old belt back on. Also got new rear shocks. They didn't tell me the press they use is broken so they were doing the job a different way then normal. They said it would take an hour. It took 2 hours and 15 minutes and the kid who put the shocks on forgot to put on some of the hardware on one of them and it was rattling around but they said it was my tools in the back of the car. I drove away and immediately knew it wasn't my tools. I looked at the top assembly and it was loose and free to move around in the shell of the car. Drove back and an older tech re-did the job correctly in about 10 minutes. read more

I used to go here for oil changes, brakes, shocks etc but no more. The last two times I was there they misdiagnosed problems. The first time I went in because I needed a new battery. They said my battery was OK I needed a new alternator to the tune of around $300. I told them I'd take it to the dealership for that since my service contract covered it 100%. The dealership looked at it and the alternator was fine but the battery had a dead cell. The second time they said I had a shock leaking. (at less than 40K miles) I didn't have time that day so I said I'll take care of it later. I looked when I got home and I didn't see any leak so I blew it off. Several months later I had it in the dealer for some other work that included a complete check of the suspension. They didn't see a leaky shock either. So I previously spent 2700 to get my transmission fixed at the bel location and within a year the transmission went bad. They warranty and fixed it but after I got my car back trans mission was still broken and went out in like 3 months. I was convinced by the frank location that the previous times they fixed my transmission with after market part cause they were not available at the time but now they can get it from Toyota so I paid another 2300 and they gave me my car back still no fixed. Before I had a chance to bring it back I got in a car reck because my transmission would not accelerate properly but still had to finish paying them. Out side of this it took sundevil 6 times to fix my ac and finally tell me they think it's the compressor and that'll cost like 1200. I came in with issues regarding my AC and coolant, got a free inspection and they let me know of some other issues going on that needed to be addressed that I hadn't taken care of since I owned the car. Every car repair comes so unexpectedly and at the most inconvenient time. Sun Devil Auto was there waiting to catch me at my worst. My rear air suspension completely gave out, therefore every bump in the road felt like a speed bump. I had to drive more carefully and consciously than ever for several days while I contemplated the circumstances and the most affordable solution. After some basic troubleshooting and Youtube/internet searches, I was convinced this was going to be way out of my price range. I even thought about selling my car for whatever I could get for it! But Sun Devil Auto has free diagnostic checks, so I could at least figure out the problem and how much it was really going to cost. Matt told me to bring my car in ASAP to get me back on the road ASAP. After leaving my car overnight, they ran the diagnostics first thing in the morning. The cost of repair was MUCH less than I had anticipated. Matt even recommended maintenance I should get in the near future considering the age of my car and 100,000+ miles I had already. Matt did not hesitate to mention the great financing options they offer to spread the cost of everything out over 6-12 months so I could afford everything. As soon as I made my decision, Matt got my car in the shop and it was done the next morning! Overall, I am extremely pleased with the way Sun Devil Auto conducts their business. I believe every auto shop should at least offer free diagnostic checks like they do. Matt and the Sun Devil Auto team took my car and its problems right off my hands and gave it back to me brand new. With an appointment made I went in to drop my car off for service on Friday, 5/24, and when arriving they had no record of my appointment. I didn't think much of this as they said that they would still be able to complete the service by the end of the day and that they would still have time to take the car for a test drive and call me once it was ready. After not receiving a call I went by at around 4:30pm and my car was ready. I pay, get my keys and head out. This is where the fun starts... Things were running fine until I get on the 101 and am unable to get above 30 mph so I get off at the next available exit and get stuck in the intersection as I was unable to accelerate. I was able to get the car moving again after turning off and restarting the car and at that point we returned the car to the repair shop. With the shop closed for the day they were unable to diagnose a problem and also were unable to get me a rental car so I was on my own for transportation until my car was finished. The next morning they called and let me know what was going on with the car and that they had installed a new battery - but they were not willing to process any refund or compensation for the subpar/incomplete labor. (tl;dr) The only objective is to crank out as many cars as they can and have no care for quality of service or safety as they returned a car that was clearly unsafe to drive. read more
