After 20 years living here, Goods took over our route and it's been nothing but problems ever since. They ripped a perfectly good trash can nearly in half. It was fine when I put it out the night before. How the hell does that happen??? This week, they just took a whole can. They didn't empty it and leave the can. They just trashed the whole thing. Ok I have had this disposal service for 6 months now. Approximately 2 months ago I requested there trash can and recycle can. I had them pick up waste management cans which were left here from prior tenants. They were swift on grabbing the 2 WM cans and only dropped off one trash can. NO recycle can! It's been 2 months. I called and asked why am I being charged for services that are not being rendered? Believe I should be entitled to some sort of discount as I'm being charged for trash and recycle and there only grabbing one can. They object and it's "policy" ...theft by deception policy! .. They dropped off a tote for their new "ASL" system. I called them and told them I didn't' need it. Was told 3 different times by office staff, (who apparently don't exist after speaking with their penis of a manager, some random whacko, not Ms. Redcay who has been cool when I needed to talk to a REAL manager in the past). They all told me "your scheduled for this day", 3 different times. Then this whacko gets on, tells me they don't exist, I was never scheduled for any day I was told prior, and then he told me to find a new carrier if I wasn't happy. Working on that now. I have been using Good's for over 10 years and I have never had one problem with the service. They keep you apprised of changes in the schedule, due to holidays or inclement weather. They have never missed a pick-up and are respectful of property. I have never heard them come through our neighborhood - they come early in the morning and even if I'm awake for some reason, I can't hear the truck! I have seen people complaining about prices, but you get what you pay for! I highly recommend them! read more

The truck workers are wonderful. Office, not so much. Three of us have tried to get our existing trash receptacles picked up as we have gone with a different program, still with Goods. . Our receptacle have been sitting outside for two weeks. Every time we call the office we get a different story on when they will be picked up. How hard is it to put three homes on a schedule? The office is clueless. We live in an HOA development and this is against our rules to leave can out. We are extremely frustrated. Plus gas prices are dropped significantly and they still charge $9 per household for gas......greedy. read more

Very poor service.They took ove 4 Gamby in Columbia who never missed me in all the years I've had them.Just paid for next 3 months and immediately had trouble.Didn't pick up trash until I seen them in nxt block and went after them.Same week called 3 times to get my recyclables and never did.Changing company after this pay period but getting my lawyer and c if I can take action because I paid 4 a service and not getting it. Just wanted to post about today's experience with Good's and their lousy customer service. Good's did not pick up my trash today so I emailed them - as they failed to take my recycling once before - and they said my service was suspended because I hadn't paid my bill, due July 1. I will say that I have the bill and the way that it's laid out makes it look as if you have a cushion of a few months and I planned on paying it this weekend. They also said that they left me a voice mail about it. Ok, so that's fine, I made a mistake in how I read the bill and just don't always check my voicemail. So i've been dealing with some office manager named Susan who is just not interested in helping customers. Instead of looking at my payment history - always paid up - and saying yeah, that was an oversight we'll come get your trash, and you're going to pay the bill, she just keeps yammering about how they left me a message. Long story short, they do NOT care about their customers at ALL and they have a lousy office manager, who has now cost the company a customer over $102. They need to watch it, as they don't have a monopoly on trash pick up here. read more

Our problems are not related to the guys who pick up our trash - they've always been great. Respectful of property - even picking up our daily newspaper and placing it on top of trash bin for us. Our issues are with management. Occasional skips are not a big deal and can be expected. This last skip is what prompted me to write a review, something I don't think I've ever done on Yelp (maybe years ago?). Most of our development was skipped on 7/25. A lot of us kept our trash out thinking they would be back later that day or even the next day. We called on 7/26 to let them know and were told "a ticket" would be put in and a truck would be out the next day. We advised them that our neighbors also had trash out and were told that each house had to call on their own to report the problem . So we let our neighbors know that our phone call wasn't enough and all of the others in the development had to call. Our one neighbor advised us that she had called Tuesday and they finally made it over on Thursday; however, all of the other trash cans and bags sitting out were left untouched . As of 7/28, we are still waiting as are some of our neighbors. Now we understand why this company demands 3 months' payment be made in advance. We'd be happy to do that if our trash was actually being picked up. How is it cost effective to not pick up at each house missed at the same time? We'd offer to drive our trash cans to their office location but wonder if we'd be charged something like a "drop off fee". read more

Very very poor service. I can't even begin to describe how poorly of a service they do. Mainly because they said I could fill up to 64 gallons of trash and I did less than that, but they never took that trash for that week without explaining to me why they didn't take it. Also they dig through my trash every time. What's the point in even digging in it if it's all trash? I called the manager and even they didn't care to explain to me why my trash wasn't taken for that week. With us being with this company for over 10 years and seeing this kind of change because of a new manager, very disappointing. read more

We had Good's twice before and changed both times. Our last trash hauler sold out to Good's and we are stuck with them again. They are terrible! There is always junk on the streets after they come because they don't pick it up. Our dumpster is always thrown at a different place -sometimes in the yard, sometimes on its side, thrown against my rosebushes damaging the branches, in the middle of the sidewalk-this goes on every week. We are in the process of looking for a different hauler. Good's is NOT good at hauling trash. read more

I don't have a lot of trash, so I was buying their yellow bags as needed. Today I was informed that they no longer sell these bags but ONLY small stickers costing $6.00 a piece to place on the trash bags! We are now required to buy our own bags! Plus they are also now requesting stickers on the bins as well! Even though they pass our place every Monday morning and can see if there is trash by the road with a sticker, they now require us to call them when we have trash! They have damaged my lawn, argued with me about needing a "Good's" garbage bin even though they sent out a notice that I could request one and they constantly up charge for what they deem are "bulk" items. Its a trash compnay. They haul trash. What earns them a review is that they will take just about anything except things like air conditioners or other things that contain hazardous materials. They say they will send you an extra bill for big stuff, but Ive put out all kinds of things like toilets and downspouts and have yet to get an extra bill. Nice! read more

During our walkthrough the night before, we discovered an absurd amount of trash left behind. I called in the next morning and spoke with Jesse. He went to great lengths to ensure that we didn't get stuck with it all! I just can't commend him enough. Once we were settled in our new home, I called back in to set up service. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service- have been trying for about a month now to get recycle bins for the business I work at (we are already getting trash pick up but want recycle also) and played phone tag for about two weeks with their 'business accounts' lady before she said she'd send us some bins. However, she wanted to send them out while we were closed for Easter and no bins ever showed up. I finally asked our trash pick up driver how to get ahold of them; he gave me a different extension to reach a different lady with the company. I called her and she said since the original lady(whom I haven't been able to get ahold of for 3+ weeks, despite leaving her messages!!!) had put a note on our account, I had to speak with her. She transferred me and I was on hold for over twenty minutes before I finally just gave up because no one was answering and I had work to do! If I was in charge of our business account, I'd completely drop the whole company. No business should treat their customers so poorly! read more

Half the time they don't pick up the recycling . Watch out if it's even a little bit windy on pickup days; they will let the trash blow everywhere and don't bother to pick up after themselves. read more

Have been using the Good's Garbage Gobblers(Sign on their trucks with a hippo with wide-open mouth - cute!) for 30 years. Their service is great, their people wonderful. Years ago(10? 15?), I called them to take away an appliance. Rather apologetically, they said they'd have to charge me $15 extra, to take it away...... At the time it would have cost almost as much to take it to the dump, myself, plus loading the thing on my pickup truck(Nice thing to have, but, not such fun to load such things!), plus the fee at the dump. Heck of a deal. They sent a special truck around and took it, no problem at all. This Year(2016), I called them again for another appliance. Goods said they'd pick it up, but they would have to charge me $15 extra...... Now it would cost me twice as much to haul it down with my truck, be twice as hard to load it(I'm getting old!), and the fee at the dump is, certainly, quite a bit more. Another good deal from Goods. LOCAL FOLKS(Where is your trash hauler based - really based?) who are as serious about my trash disposal needs as I am. I need look no further than the Goods Garbage Gobblers, and Goods Disposal Service, Akron, Pa. Thankx folks! Keep up the great work. read more

Well what can be said for people who get up before me see me running to the end of the yard in my housecoat, curlers in my hair, trash can in tote ,running for the truck , they are always very nice, if everyone was as kind as they are the world, would be a better place. I mean really try going to the bank or grocery store looking like that . My sanitations people are fantastic there should be away to give them a tip just like the newspaper people get. I've never had any trash left laying around or anything I'm VERY pleased with the service I have and would recommend them to everyone. read more
