I had the pleasure of sharing my experience on NextDoor today when someone asked for a mechanic recommendation; now the whole neighborhood knows... "DO NOT GO TO GOODLETT AUTOMOTIVE, I promised Jacob (owner's son, I believe) that I would absolutely spread the word on my negative experience. They'll steal your money NOT fixing what was agreed on and causing more damage. They had my car an extra week and did zero additional work to resolve the initial issue nor correct the additional damage they did. DO NOT GO TO GOODLETT AUTOMOTIVE!!!" Maybe one day Goodlett will stop taking advantage of their customers but I'll never know as I'm NEVER going back to these thieves! Yet I doubt it. I do not recommend Goodlett Automotive. Either they are incredibly incompetent, or they intentionally sabotaged my vehicle - either way, not good. I originally took my car to them to get new tires. Justin, the owner, recommended some all weather tires, and he told me "I just replaced the tires on my car, and I chose these ones." So I said that sounded good, had him replace all four tires, and everything seemed fine. I also needed a new alternator and belts (I had known for a while they were bad), and my check engine light had been on for several months and other mechanics could not figure out what was wrong. So, I took my car back. They replaced my alternator, the belts, and ran a smoke test and told me that there was a crack in my gas tank and the labor alone would be $600. I decided to wait on the gas tank because it was a little more than I could afford at the time. Some time later, someone slammed my car door too hard and bent the door latch, so the door wouldn't stay completely shut. I took my car in, and Justin told me that it would be very expensive to fix because it was a hard part to find for my car, and again he mentioned "this same thing just happened to my car." Hmm...that just seems like an awful coincidence, for him to say that twice about different things, and it made me suspicious. I decided not to go ahead with the fix, but then when I got my car back, it was somehow magically fixed? The door latched just fine. That makes me think that the fix was really easy, but they were trying to get more money out of me. That's when I decided to stop seeing them. This all happened over a year ago. The reason I'm writing a review now, is because I just took my car to a different mechanic because my belt was squeaking, and they told me that both the belts that Goodlett replaced were VERY loose and needed tightened AND adjusted. Also, they told me that they diagnosed the check engine light and that there was a leak somewhere else, not the gas tank. They said that the check engine light could come back on, so maybe there really is a leak in the tank, but they think that might have been what's wrong. So, at the very least, Goodlett did a bad job with my belts, and missed a leak in a different part of my car. I don't know if any of this was intentional or just bad service, but either way, I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Goodlettes charged me 2 grand to replace my rear suspension (have THEIR receipt saying REPLACED rear suspension) and they did NOT replace them. Mercedes of Medford and Northwest Auto Haus both did an extensive diagnosis and both report the rear suspension HAS NOT been worked on at all and looks to be original equipment from 2003. I retained an attorney that usually works on behalf of businesses and he told me it was a slam dunk case. He sent 2 letters demanding Justin Goodlette refund my money as my car has sat for 6 months due to goodlettes auto scamming and ripping me off. I know there are many of you out there and I will be filing a small claims against them. I want to get several others screwed by these crooks and picket the business. My attorney has guided me on the process and explained the laws. I WILL get my money back. Total assholes! read more

As a former repair shop owner, I know how hard Justin and staff have to work every day. You can't please all people, all of the time. Some just like to make their problems the shops problems and don't tell the whole story. I have an arm injury so I cant do work for others anymore. When someone asks where to take their car or truck for service, I always say "Goodlett Automotive." These are friends and coworkers and they always come back pleased. read more

The shop came recommended so I contracted to have a LS swap done on my 69 Chev. They talked a good game, we discussed the day it was ready I wanted to take it on a road trip. Three or so months later, several issues later, another shop involved, it sits in my yard not running. 2 calls to the shop, they seem too busy to return my calls even. No sweat, dont need a warranty, I am prepared to give it to another shop to be made right. Andy at LSX Specialties cleared up the issue of dying in parking lots although it still does now and then. He will be here at my house taking care of my fuel pump issue. I consider any warranty I had with Goodletts to be null and void at this point, i choose to have nothing good to say about them and will not recommend them anytime. I made it clear up front I wanted a problem free install, paid their price without haggling expecting it to be reliable when I got it back. Where do I go from here? Another shop for sure, gone over from top to bottom, even considering selling the truck due to unreliability. Pretty disgusted. read more
