I've been coming here almost daily since before COVID times, as far back as maybe 2017, and I knew most of the regular morning crew - shout out to Marco, Jen, Colby, etc. Before COVID, I had gotten one of their insulated beverage cups = $20, and $1 refills. WHAT A BARGAIN. And even though they discontinued the program, they always kindly remembered to grandfather me in. I mean, where else in the city do you get $1 refills? It was with great sadness that once our office moved from South Street north to Walnut, I would not be able to swing by every morning to decompress and get my good karma on before heading out to deal with my VIP clients for the next 9 hours. Thank you, Good Karma, for all the Good Karma you treated me for so so so many years. read more

Spacious cafe in Washington Square. Coffee was delicious and strong just as advertised! Au Fournil pastries on hand for self-serve.

I've eaten here so many times and I have yet to leave a review. I have a couple of things to say about this place. To begin, good solid STRONG wifi! The staff is always friendly, the vibe is whimsical, and it's a great space to sit for hours to do some work. However their drinks and food are varied by the people who are working. I have had really awesome things and Ive had the opposite. Despite that, I would say that if you need a spot to just really focus or to chat for long hours. THIS IS YOUR GO TO! read more

Gem of a spot to coworker and study. Always pleasant and busy. Drinks and service are very deliable. 2 bathrooms. About 9 spots with outlets. Good writing group. Study group. etc read more

I came here to study and had a pleasant experience. I ordered a oat milk latte. They have a side table with different syrups, creamer to add to your desired sweetness. I enjoyed the latte. The cafe is very spacious so I was able to find a table to study at. I liked the music playlist so I didn't wear headphones. The noise wasn't too loud. I will definitely return! read more

My friends and I came here for lunch & had such a great experience! The service was great, the employees were so friendly. We ordered at the front counter an iced matcha latte, hot coffee, bottle of Good Karma wine & a few sandwiches. Love how they sell local wine/beer here! We sat at the outside patio in the back which was very peaceful and relaxing. They're dog friendly & have a water bowl & dog treats! They have bigger tables inside, great for studying with friends or working from home. Wifi is available. Perfect place to drink a glass of wine and enjoy lunch/dinner. Highly recommend! read more

This location's concept was what drove me to check out Good Karma, and I absolutely love the ambience inside. I get work done easily, and their menu is so well crafted. GK is unique in the way they create and advertise their menu, and I love how they do happy hour. For me, establishments that serve alcohol with standard cafe drinks are usually higher in cost, however GK's prices are fair and reasonable. My favorite drinks to get are an Iced London Fog with Oatmilk and Lavendar, a "Red Flag Season," which is a cranberry apple spice, a cold brew, and a "Basil Breeze," which is a basil based smoothie! I am always excited about what drinks they come up with every season, and I can't wait to see the winter menu! read more

Nice shop, we popped in during a day of Christmas shopping. Fairly crowded but we could see a table so we popped in. Very quiet atmosphere, may have been people working as computers were everywhere. The usual latte and iced coffees were great. read more

Wow, not only is the cafe spacious, it is also quite pretty. They have an outdoor space, window space, as well as lots and lots of seating inside. The staff is quite welcoming and friendly. The mocha I had today was solid. Real chocolatey. Piña colada smoothie that my husband got was so good and refreshing. I am not sure if there were other fruits in it but in addition to coconut and pineapple, we could also taste mango and rose which is pretty amazing. The best part is they are open 7 AM to 8 PM (the hours need to be updated on Yelp but Google Maps has the correct number). Summer hours probably? As of 07/17/24, their patio is under renovation. The only reason of removing a star is because there were a couple of house flies so not sure if it is because of poor hygiene. read more

Stroopwaffle Latte 12oz for $6 (latte with brown sugar, caramel, and cinnamon) - was afraid this might be too sweet but it wasn't! Front window is so clean you forget it is there. Spacious. Pretty fake tree and lights when you first walk in puts you in a nice mood. Friendly staff. I love that she said to take our time because someone there is pressure when they stand there waiting for you to decide. There is more room to sit both indoors and outdoors in the back read more

I like this place. The people who work here are very easygoing. I felt like I could've just chatted to them for a while tbh. Anyways, they're cool lol. The interior of the place is chill. There's a tree in the middle of the restaurant, which is always a green flag for me. I love the greenery too. The space is also surprisingly large. There is an area in the back with additional seating. If you walk in and see the place full, take a walk to the back before you start to panic lol. The food was pretty good. I ordered the avocado toast, and I actually liked it. The main reason why I didn't rate this place higher was because of the coffee. I just wasn't a big fan of it. Maybe I just wasn't specific enough about how I wanted it, but it just didn't taste the way it's supposed to. I usually order the same thung regardless of where I am, but it tasted off this time around. I'll give it a try again because other people seem yo like their coffee. read more

DRINKS I came during lunch rush and had their 24-oz iced mocha. Considering how jam-packed it was, our order came out really quickly. It was a standard drink, nothing too special, so it's a solid place to visit when looking for coffee. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly. Punch cards are available for rewards. AMBIANCE The place is located in the heart of a cozy neighborhood in Washington Square West. The interior is well-decorated and offers ample seating for study/work. Limited seating is available outside the shop as well. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity. read more

Even on a vacation, there's still some work to be done. There is some commentary on work culture and such to be made here but that's not what we do here. The community/peer pressure of people working around me was what I would need to be productive. I looked around the area at several coffee shops within walking distance and Good Karma seemed to be one of the few that offered enough space along with a good vibe just off pictures alone. The greenery of the entry was what really attracted me. The staff were nice and my drink came out rather quickly. For my personal taste, I will say the music was a bit on the louder side. This didn't bother me much as I could just pop in my ear buds. I ordered the Rose Oat Chai over ice. While it sounded appealing when perusing I was a little disappointed with the execution. It really came down to personal taste but It was just too sweet for me! This was where the complimentary cucumber water came in clutch though! Ultimately, if you're looking to get some work done or have a little social coffee stop, I think it's a decent spot! Staff were nice. Bathrooms were clean. Music was good. read more

Good Karma Cafe was our very last stop before heading to the airport to go home. It came highly recommended by my brother who is local to the area. I ordered an iced matcha with lavender syrup and it was delicious. The cashier was very helpful in assisting me with deciding on which flavor would best complement the matcha. Lavender would not have been my first choice, but it was delicious and I'm so glad I trusted the process. This cafe also had ample seating room, making it perfect to get some work done or just cozy up with a book. I would definitely return! read more

Good Karma Cafe - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Over the last year or two after being closed due to union busting, this place re-opened under new ownership. That's the good news. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the actual beverages are top notch. It's usually reasonably quiet and not overly crowded, though occasionally you get some people who don't seem to comprehend that they're in a shared space, but that's not the establishment's fault. Just know if you're hoping to hunker down with coffee for some peaceful work or studying, you aren't assured that. The 3 out of 5 stars is because the food is uniformly garbage and overpriced. It is scant on ingredients and flavor, and prepared hastily. An example: the "popeye" bagel which contains scrambled egg, spinach and cheese has ingredients that when put inside of the actual bagel cover about 1/3rd of the actual bagel's surface. Unlike a cafe that charges you $8 for such an item and fills it up, it seems like the goal here is to save money by providing next to no actual food. Also, and this is perhaps pedantic, but NOTHING you order with cheese will have actual melted cheese. So if you want bagel sandwiches with sliced, vaguely coldish cheese slices on top of warm ingredients, you're in luck. If they could get a grip on the food situation it would shoot up to a solid 4 1/2 stars, but it seems unlikely. So for now it's a decent neighborhood hang if you just want coffee and a not-too-lengthy stay. read more

A fantastic spot to relax with a book or tackle your to-do list is good karma. With ample seating, numerous outlets, and an extensive menu featuring both food and drinks, this establishment truly stands out. The ambiance is truly delightful and never fails to impress. Personally, I enjoy indulging in their unique lattes and opting for a bagel topped with lox. Additionally, the staff consistently provides excellent customer service. read more

My friends liked the drinks. Admittedly I didn't get one. We were here and I mentioned that there wasn't a larger table available (we had a group of 4). The owner/manager overheard me and immediately leaped up and offered to open up the patio. He even turned on the heater! It was seasonable outside and the heater made it just the right temp. He was a great, friendly dude, so he deserves a shout out. Thank you, GK! read more

I had a delicious oat milk cappuccino with the avocado toast with tomato. Great neighborhood location and dog friendly.

Every time I've come in there are bugs flying around, some times worse than others but without exception. Anything from full size flies to small fruit flies; mostly the latter, without fail, buzzing around my food, drink(s) and face. Not just a few. I can't come back anymore for this reason. read more

I have been to Good Karma on Pine St multiple times since 2021 and have always loved it there. The coffee, the sandwiches, and the atmosphere were always top notch. We went back on Saturday afternoon and were really disappointed in the coffee we ordered. The staff was kind, and the remodel of the space is really nice; but, the iced hazelnut latte and iced dirty chai that we were served were weak and watery. Maybe it was just an off day because I don't have this experience at the other good karma locations; but, it was really disappointing. read more

I love the ambiance. The coffee is legit. The staff are always nice. 10/10 neighborhood staple.

Really have been enjoying some weekly coffees and breakfast sandwiches from Good Karma this month. Huge fan of the gobble gobble (turkey sausage breakfast sandwich), the regular bacon egg and cheese and also the Chai latte with oat milk. The french toast bagel of the month has a heavenly aroma, and the scallion cream cheese was awesome as well. Friendly service with hours ending at 5pm. The back patio is cozy with about 10 seats (a few double tables and a four person table). Got a special birthday cake latte for their opening anniversary last week which was a fun switch up. The soup, while expensive, was a good flavor (chicken noodle) and the sourdough bread it came with hit the spot. Will be back for food and drinks very soon! read more

Good Karma is a crappy name based on their former actions and how they currently operate their business. The staff is generally attentive and nice, but I stopped going in there for a couple reasons. This location is known for shutting down to bust a union that had started there. Another great coffee shop opened up, while GK been in a long shut down, a half block away and now the owner of GK puts a sandwich board sign on the corner right across from their rivals to try to pull customers. It's actually creepy. This sign is closer to their rival shop than it is to their own shop. Oh and they also play crappy white washed music- last time I was in there I heard "Hey Soul Sister" by Train... possibly the most offensive thing I have to review read more

I love this place. It's so warm and inviting, the ambience is perfect. I love that they have seat cushions available for bar stools and chairs-- so thoughtful! The fact that this cafe is open until 10pm is KEY. It's a large space with plenty of wooden tables and chairs with WiFi. So happy they have reopened! Very clean interior and friendly staff. The bacon egg and cheese was weak sauce honestly. The colonel mustard on sourdough is delicious and the drinks are okay. The caramel iced latte and matcha iced latte are only good after adding lots of simple syrup into them. The matcha itself does not taste authentic and I wouldn't get it again. It is a bit more on the expensive side for both food and drinks compared to other cafés in the area. The atmosphere is great and there's so much space to do work. The service was nice. read more

At good karma very disappointed no lite brew and the medium is very bitter coffee. They have big store which is empty and only out side seating in the street where a stray car can kill you The out side in the back is open but shame can't use inside at all ! restaurants in city are having inside seating I don't understand shame not enjoying my self here last few times I always chose this place but now is on the endangered business list with me. Stopped by for the first time and ordered the Rox Out with Your Lox Out bagel, Colonel Mustard chicken sandwich, coffee and this special blueberry ade type drink. I forgot but it was pink with some berry syrup! Very refreshing! The food was all good, pretty reasonable prices too. The total was about $25. The coffee and condiment station was really neat. They had a jar for table shims to stop it from wobbling which was very sensible. They even had a bucket to toss extra coffee for creamer. The atmosphere of this cafe is really chill. A/C is bumpin'. Good for studying. Lots of indoor seating. There's wifi and restroom available. Would love to come here again! read more

ThIs place is adorable. The decorations are cute and calming. Great place to do work or catch up with friends. They have a large space with plenty of room to sit. Their menu is great - tons of vegetarian and vegan options as well as other things. They serve breakfast and lunch, and also have lots of snacks available (ex. granola bars and vegan baked goods). I don't know why but I'm just not a fan of this coffee shop. I came here to get coffee and study with my friend, and there are just many other places that I prefer to do this at than here. Yes, there are many tables to do work at among other people who are also doing work, but at don't enjoy the vibes. The front is cute but the back of the shop is dingy. During my visit, the espresso machine was not working (?!) which is kind of crazy for a coffee shop when a lot of their drinks require this machine. So I couldn't get the latte I wanted, I had to stick to an iced coffee which just isn't my favorite drink. I also got "the works" salad which has chicken and bacon on it. The salad was good overall in my opinion. Probably wouldn't return as I have other coffee shops that I prefer over this one. read more
