I gave Steve a call, and he and his partner showed up the next day. They worked nonstop for four hours, disassembling each part of the sofa, carrying it upstairs, then reassembling it. When they were done, I couldn't tell the sofa had ever been disassembled--it still looked beautiful and was just as sturdy. I had already been waiting two months for delivery, so to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Then the panic kicked in. Since it was a custom sectional, I would get majorly dinged if I returned it. But what other options were there? That's where Melo and Sons came in. The delivery guy put me on the phone with his manager to talk it over. Yes, returning the sectional was an option, as was taking out my dining room window to bring the sofa portion in that way (hell no!) Or... I could have some pros disassemble it at their warehouse then reassemble it in my living room. Of my three options, the third was the winner by a longshot. As I was the first delivery of the day, I patiently waited until Melo and Sons opened then gave them a ring. Joanne immediately answered and put my nerves at ease. It was obvious I wasn't the first numpty to purchase a too big piece of furniture that needed saving by them. After providing her all the requested information, I had a delivery date for about three weeks out. By the time my Boston Interiors salesperson called to discuss the failed delivery, everything was already tucked and tied with Melo and Sons. When the big day finally arrived, Mike and George showed up right on time and quickly got to work. They laid down moving blankets to protect the floor then brought up the disassembled sofa in several carefully wrapped pieces. Aside from being the consummate professionals, they were funny to boot. UPDATED: I've been told twice now by corporate that a local manager/owner would be giving me a call…read moreto "make it right" and NO ONE HAS CALLED. I booked my job for junk removal and had an entire conversation about what would be removed from my property on 38 Hope Street in Attleboro with your intake specialist who was very nice, and professional. I explained I had mattresses and appliances and some miscellaneous junk that needed to be removed. After explaining to me how they bill by the truck capacity, he quoted me between 500-600 dollars. So I confirmed with him that in the event there's more or less that quote would be adjusted based on what was here day of service. He confirmed. Great. Scheduled appointment comes. I have a major conflict come up last minute. I texted the truck captain, he gets back to me right away and is super helpful kind and professional. We reschedule for the next week, easy, painless, stress free. Day of rescheduled appointment, I get a text from Aiden, my truck captain for that day. Says that I'm 5th in line for the day, but they are running a little behind. I say, "ok thanks for letting me know be safe". The window I'm given is between 10am-12pm. I'm loading a moving truck and 1:30p rolls around. I text for any updates. I call multiple times. I replied to the confirmation email. NOTHING back in response. Maybe an hour later, I try again. Nothing. I give my friend the number to call on my behalf, he picks up right away (because he doesn't recognize the number as a customer). Explains they'll be there in about 2-3 hours. Not happy, but trying to roll with it. Around 4:45p I get a call saying they are on their way. I told Aiden that it's unnacceptable that there's ZERO communication about a blown timeline of almost 6 hours. He didn't once apologize for any inconvenience. Instead I get rude and smart ass responses. "Well I'm on the phone with you now aren't I?" He says, "maybe I'll have my manager get us headsets so I can answer the phone while I'm moving and driving a truck around". Totally unacceptable, rude, horrible customer focus, insulting, and a terrible representation of your brand. I tell him not to come because I can't wait any longer, need to drive my moving truck to the destination and unload now in the pouring rain because we were stuck waiting for them to come all day. He says fine, we can prioritize you so you'll be first on the list, I'll see you tomorrow at 7am. I complete my move, and call your corporate HQ because I just got the feeling that I was being messed with, again. There was no record of an appointment ever being made for the next day. And he was going to cost me more time, and jeopardize the closing sale of my house because he couldn't take responsibility for not communicating back to a customer. Corporate was able to reach out to a local manager and get me a crew the next morning. They called and were even earlier than the window they gave me. Here's the last problem I had with my entire experience. We complete the walkthrough and I have actually fewer items than what we discussed in the initial intake because I got rid of appliances on my own. I helped move stuff myself, actually putting stuff on the truck with the crew. I provided them with a hand truck to move my washer at their request. Then he tabulates the final bill. I was charged $1364.87! On a quote of $500-600. I really feel strongly that this is not right. If you're going to tell me that there's disposal fees and surcharges I understand, but then why is that not included in your initial quoting process. That is bait and switch and for that number to be presented only at the time the junk is on the truck is NOT GOOD BUSINESS. Your guys were in and out in 30 minutes, and had my assistance. And then they asked for a tip, and I felt TERRIBLE telling them that I could simply not afford to tip them as my budget for this job was less than half the total bill.
