I have NEVER written a Yelp review. This is my first... and probably last. However, I researched how to post this review just so I could applaud this particular business. I was choosing a moving company to move to a new house. I was injured in a car accident (woman ran a red light) the same day that I delivered my down payment and closing costs to the closing attorney for escrow. The home purchase wheels were already in motion...and I needed help. I narrowed my request for quotes down to three businesses. I called one (who will remain nameless... not worth the mention) and got disconnected MULTIPLE times while she was trying to quote me... from home. My visit to their business location found no viable office space to meet, and the laborers in the parking lot near the business vehicles cat-called me after I inquired about their booking agent. HARD pass. My second call was to Chris Corrigan. I never made another call after that. I called (from the parking lot of the the first business) and then hung up, deciding instead to drive over. Surprisingly, I received an immediate call back from the number that I just called and disconnected. I told him that I was on my way over to his office, and he said that he could give me a quote over the phone. I explained my complicated situation (details in a bit)... and he wasn't a BIT rattled. He estimated about 6-7 hours at $160/hr. If it was less, he would charge less. Payment was in cash at the completion of the move, with all paperwork signed with the foreman of the job who would furnish the receipt. I told him my preferred date, and he had an opening on that date in the afternoon after another job. However, he said that he had the next day open for the first job of the day... The difference, he stated honestly, is that his men were fresher on the first job of the day and (naturally) not as tired, affecting the rapidity of the move and, therefore, the price. He would give me any day that I chose; but he was honestly trying to provide me with the best options. I asked if I could call him back after I confirmed the closing date. Naturally, it was first-come-first-served... but he had no problem with a call by the end of day. I cornered my closing attorney into an appointment time and booked Chris Corrigan Moving asap, almost within the hour. I liked that he didn't try to scam me. But, being female, I was concerned about: 1. having a (known) wad of cash on my person. 2. having all my belongings on a vehicle before I saw contract/paperwork. 3. how they would handle special circumstances. I decided that I was going to make an impromptu visit to their offices and determine for myself whether I felt comfortable with their legitimacy. That visit, solidified my original decision. I found the office parking lot, but I had to call to find the office. It was just down the street with the door to the office angled at the intersection. I was on the phone obtaining those directions until I walked in the door. A pleasant young man was seated at the desk and confirmed my appointment when I told him who I was. I also explained why I appeared. I was a bit leery... and I wanted to have enough on hand to pay for what I was requesting. He explained that what I was requesting wasn't formally allowed... but his guys could handle the job adeptly. They have DECADES of experience. I was more than satisfied that I made the absolute best decision. However, what I got on moving day was EVEN. BETTER. I had been living in the in-law apartment of my parents' home for 3 years saving for my own home in a seller's market. While searching, I acquired all of the furniture that I anticipated that I would need and that I would be too burdened with a mortgage to accommodate in my budget after a purchase. Meanwhile, I had saved all sturdy boxes from any shipments that I received, and I had used these boxes to pack all household goods and move them (with family) for 2 days prior to the Chris Corrigan team. Still, I had stored the big-ticket furniture items in 3 different locations... still in their shipping boxes... unassembled. So, I needed pickups in three different locations, unloading to the destination new home AND assembly of some of the furniture. ALL of this within the estimated time frame. Ladies and gentlemen, the truck is NOT allowed to take every street that our cars naturally travel. Still, I want you to know that they accomplished the entire feat UNDER estimate... and the first location was difficult to find (yup, I knew that they were going to get lost). They called from the apartment complex next door... but they were still making great time. First location: They picked up a leather sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman... also a (solid wood) desk, bookshelf with cabinet, and filing credenza. you people along with lanmar corps. of pawtucket -are fucking theives . fuck you . in 2005 my mother and i were evicted from lanmar 24 lyon st apt. 4 right around thanksgiving time and christmas . i was 15 years old and i walked home from school that day - a little early from pep rally - still excited from the eventfull day at school (tolman) and came home to see a big blue moving truck in the parking lot - i thought to myself "gee , i wonder who is moving out?" - when i got to the door - to my horror ... the movers were in my home .. but why ? my mom isnt even home she is at work - who are these people ? in my home - taking my things . robbing me . i dropped my backpack and said shaking and on the verge of tears "whats going on?" - then a sheriff appeared - a fucking cop - who is sapossed to "serve and protect" - is in my home - taking my things - and he comes out after someone shouts carelessly "the daughter is here" .. the sheriff came out and started explaining that we have been evicted because my mom wasnt able to pay the rent on time .. as my heart sank to my stomach - i saw a man coming equiped with a wired pole and a cat carrier - the sherifs voice drifted as i realized - my cat ! where is my cat ! - i pushed past everyone into my apartment - to find everything on the floor - as if someone were to have swiped everything off of the coffee table - onto the floor - and took the coffe table leaving the living room cluttered - all the furniture was gone - my christmas presents for my family - the couch - everything - i ran through the hallway in a frantic search for my cat opening all the closed doors - and the door to my bedroom .. god everything was gone .. that morning i woke up - i knew where i put everything .. so why were my personal pictures - scattered among the floor - as if someone looked through them - n tossed them everywhere .. where was the $50 i had saved in my "dream" jar on my bereau ? -- i picked up my cat and thankfully the neighbor let me keep him in his apt until i figured out what was going on .. i sat on the stairs while strange men invaded my privacy - and moved all of our belongings into that big blue truck .. a slobby fat worker comes over and snobbishly tosses me a business card and says "you might want to get your things out of storage quick - cuz we charge alot" -- then they stopped what they were doing - left everything that was scattered amongst the floor (pictures etc) - locked the door - taped an eviction notice onto it .. and left - taking everything we owned with them .. i sat in the hallway locked out for a few hours until dark waiting for my mom to get off work - earning the money to pay the rent - for us to have a roof over our heads .. we both sat in the car and cried .. we had to sleep at my aunts house .. they wouldnt even let us grab a bag of clothes .. i wore my cousins underwear .. my baby pictures - birth certificate - my mothers forms - grandparents death certificates .. thrown away ? simple as that ? .. and the cop - "serve and protect" - was "supervising" all of this ? saying before he drove away - chris corrigan moving company was about to auction off our things for profit ?? i have one question that has haunted me .. what happened to my things ? what happened to my baby pitcures ? my underwear ? my $50 i had saved ? who did it go to ? why did this have to happen ? my mother got paid bi weekly - every 2 weeks .. a single parent .. you couldnt have waited ? made a payment plan ?understood ? - none the less - my mother served "mr. lanmar" at the pawtucket country club - he portrayed himself as such a nice man - and found out my mom needed an apt - and gave her the key to check it out - 3 years we payed the rent no problem - sometimes expenses happen - we were a little late - its a mistake - but we would have been more than happy to pay the rent - than to be robbed for trible the rent expense we owed .. i would have rather had my things set on fire - than for your people to have auctioned it off for profit - leaving us w nothing but the clothes on our backs - fuck you chris corrigan - fuck you lanmar - fuck you to the sheriff involved- amen . read more

This company should have a 10 star rating. They moved us one and a half years ago into storage because we were building a house. They were so careful not to scratch anything and worked in a timely manner. This week they moved us into our new home. Again they were very careful with our furniture and our new floors. They would not put the furniture down until we put the felt on the bottom of the furniture to protect our floors. The crew was Al and Marks and they were outstanding, polite, cheerful no matter how heavy our furniture was. They again worked in a timely professional manner. Honestly,I never right reviews but felt it necessary to do because of the high quality service I received. I would and will recommend Chris Corrigan moving co to anyone who needs to move. Besides great service I have to say every time you call Chris answers the phone. He is cheerful and willing to accommodate you the best he can. We even had to change our moving date and he did without hesitation! I'm sure that messed up his schedule but you would never know that because of his positive attitude. Honestly, this company is the best I have ever used. Please consider them for your move. We had a 3,ooo square foot house to move and they did it with no problem or damage! I had originally booked another company a month in advance. 3 days before my move they called changing the terms and price. I quickly canceled them and found Corrigan through a local RI reddit page. CJ Corrigan answered the phone himself, sympathized with me over my issues with the other company, and got me on the books with 3 days notice. He was attentive to my phone calls and keept me updated on the timeline the day of my move. Danny and his crew showed up to my building on time. My parking lot is difficult but they managed perfectly. They loaded up quickly and cleanly. No breaks or scratches in any walls or furniture. They arived promptly at the new house and unloaded as quickly there. Furniture was maneuvered into our basement that I had worried wouldn't fit. They were friendly, courteous, and asked where every box or item should go. I was able to pay via venmo to CJ directly which was very convenient. They were honest about their travel times and charged me an extremely fair price. No excess travel time or hidden fees or stress. The other shady company was ready to charge me 4 times as much. I'm extremely glad i called CJ Corrigan last minute. They bailed me out big time. I will 100% be recommending them to everyone in the area. read more

I wanted to relocate to a new city and had to take my family along. I got so busy with the packaging stuff that I forgot to book a moving company to carry the luggage. We were so busy that we skipped that part and the day of shifting was also approaching. When only one day was left for the shifting we got a wake-up call that we have forgotten to hire a moving company. I called a number of movers but no one responded to my call, some of them just picked and never call back. This whole situation made me freak out! I tried my luck for the last time and called these guys, they picked my call and listened to my situation patiently. They were very generous and were quick to offer their service. They came to our place and helped us to bring down the entire luggage from the third floor. They were very polite and supportive. These guys handled our luggage with care and moved it with care and attention. Not only this, but they offered their services at a very reasonable charge and didn't take advantage of our situation, because let's admit it, we were in a hurry and we had no other options left, they could have overcharged, but no, they respect their customers and value them a lot. Chris Corrigan Movers moved us a few years ago and did a great job. On December 12 they moved us again. It was a difficult move for therm as we had much more to move and it was from a third floor condo in Lincoln RI to a house in Wareham MA. The team did an absolutely superb job. They were quick and efficient and remained polite to a very rude man at the condo, despite his yelling at them. They were so very very helpful at the new house. They patiently rearranged furniture at my request, always with smiles on their faces. The time and cost involved in the move were both LESS than I expected...a great treat for my husband and I. We are retired and, of course, on a limited budget. The leader of the 3 man team was Chris. He literally never stopped working...all 3 of the team were remarkable...hard working and very kind. We thank them and the Corrigan family for making this move so easy and pleasant. I still remember the day when I had hired you to move my luggage and other valuable things to a new city. It was not a normal day, the weather was really bad and it was raining cats and dogs, the wind was blowing very harshly and the situation was similar to a hailstorm, I thought that these guys would say no to my work or would not be able to deliver my luggage safely, but I was wrong. These guys were dedicated and didn't turn back to their commitment. They were very professional and supportive, they delivered the luggage in time, that too without causing even single damage to my precious things. Due to an unexpected move, I had little time to prepare. This was my first time using a moving company. I called Chris Corrigan on 12/29/20 and they were able to schedule me for the following day which was very convenient. The guys showed up on time and were very professional. They pointed out several dings or scrapes on my furniture before moving it just to make me aware. I really appreciated that they let me know. They were very helpful and provided advise on how to arrange the furniture in the new location since I was unsure how to best use the space in some of the rooms. They even offered to move it once they set it up if I wasn't happy with where it was placed. I was impressed with the service and will definitely consider them for my next move and will refer them as well. Also, they deducted some time from my overall charge to due an error they made in setting up a bunk bed incorrectly. Awesome job, guys! You worked hard and please know that I appreciate your effort. We just moved into our first home and Danny's crew was absolutely amazing. Super efficient, very careful, and lots of fun to work with. Moving is obviously very stressful, but all these guys kept the day light with jokes while maintaining professionalism and ensuring our furniture and home was safe and undamaged. Our stairs are narrow and steep, and the team had no issues getting all our furniture upstairs unscathed. The truck is huge and has a ramp to make the loading and unloading process faster. We were informed that TVs and glass panels for some shelves aren't insured but that they would be happy to wrap them up and transport them if we wanted. We opted not to because of the giant pot holes in the area, so it was super nice that they warned us! I would absolutely recommend Corrigan Moving (especially Danny's team) to anyone in the area. While I hope to never have to move again (soooo many boxes), if I do, I'll call these guys back without hesitation! read more

Utilized Chris Corrigan Moving for a large move from Southern RI to Southern Connecticut. After calling around for prices, and talking to Chris I realized that their company would be the best fit to move our family's home. Staff was professional, in good spirits and Chris the owner provided a fair estimate that ended up being less than we budgeted for. The men that arrived were very hard workers and seemed to have a lot of experience based on how easily they were able to move our furniture down our staircases and through our doorways. All of our items were wrapped in thick moving blankets and delivered perfectly to our new home. It was nice to be able to speak and deal with the owner throughout the entire Moving service. Upon completion Chris even called to make sure everything went as promised and that we were well satisfied. Satisfied does not even cover how pleased we were with this moving company. I love these guys! I was moving from a 3rd floor apt, into storage facility. I was so dreading the stairs, which they did no problem. ( Although I'm sure they were silently cursing.) I was told I could save $ and time if I was able to bring down the small stuff before they got there, but I was not physically able to do the stairs so many times. I was so overwhelmed with the prospect of moving and packing, that I had no energy left to do much of anything. The actual time was less than what I was quoted. CB's team was quick, never stopped for a break. Arrived at 8:30am, was out by 11/11:30 and into storage by 12/12:30. Also, I have a tempur pedic mattress, queen size, that needed to be stored flat, was no problem for them. I would highly recommend them. You get what you pay for. It was cheaper then expected which is always nice, however, there were several things wrong after the move. We kept finding things as we unpacked. We know things will happen and at first when we saw a cheap card table with a hole through it we weren't that bothered ....but then the box spring was broken and the final thing was the bookshelves. We are missing our shelves. We had them before the move and they moved us and now we do not have them. When I called I was told they don't have them so they must be at old house or the new house. I don't have them so I asked now what, I was told to look - again. I did. Several times. I now own 2 book shelves with no shelves. A broken box spring and card table and no help from the moving company to fix any of it. read more

Moved from a very small 1 bedroom apt so I don't have many items. It was difficult to find companies that didn't require a minimum number of hours or charges. Or to find someone that would show up to give a quote. Calling to schedule the move date was easy and smooth. Got a call two days before to confirm too. Had Al's crew and they were great. Movers showed up on time. Price came in within the quoted range over the phone and was on the lower end of the range. Guys had to hoist stuff down over the balcony from the 2nd floor. Al's team worked very hard, very fast, and always in a professional manner. The men were polite, nice, and quite interested in doing an excellent job. The move (which was actually multiple moves as furniture and boxes were being transferred between two storage lockers and my home) was completed within the time that Chris had orally estimated over the phone, even though I had asked the men to make an additional stop. These movers scheduled our move very conveniently. They answered all my questions, gave me an upfront estimate, and even accommodated a stop on the way to drop off a piano at another location. The communication was excellent and they called to discuss the online quote, called a day before the move to update any changes, and the driver called on the way on moving day.
