No, they don't have video games here. But yes, they do have board games and tabletop games of all kinds. If you're into these types of games, this is the place for you. When we visited, there were several people at the tables playing games. The place was hoppin'. There's also a lounge area with comfy leather couches where you can play games or just hang out. Their website says that they are a LGBTQ-led store, which is really neat and not something you see very often in the Midwest. They specialize in underground games, small indie games and Kickstarter-backed games. Good Games is located in downtown Indianapolis, just off of Monument Circle. It's centrally located and in the middle of everything, so it's a good spot to relax and play games. read more

This is such an incredible concept. It's open to everyone and there's a game library for people to play their board games for free and you can stay as long as you like! It's like a public library for games! We stumbled upon it during Magic Sunday and really got to see the community of gamers. So cool to see! This is a great game store. It's clean, well organized and the employees are friendly. They have a wide variety of board games, miniatures games and card games. I made my first visit during GenCon 2024 and was impressed by their customer service. Good prices on card singles. I know I am popping in next year to check out what they have. Although I don't know much about gaming, I stopped by this shop across Meridian from Circle Centre Mall to see what kind of games they had. The shop is long and narrow with the displays of games up front by the check out counter and entrance. The back half of the store is set up with lots of tables for groups of players to be able to enjoy their purchases. I can't tell you if the arrangement of the tables is conducive to playing all types of games or not, but I'm sure the staff can help meet your needs. I was also glad to see that they did carry some more "old fashioned" board games that are self contained and suitable for most levels of family to play. They also had puzzles and a selection of Monopoly games that had unique themes I hadn't seen before. Oh, and don't let the downtown location make you think you are paying too much. I checked some pricing compared to that certain online giant that delivers to your home and this place was within 10% of the online giant. I like supporting local businesses, so when I can, I buy from actual stores and save the online for things that I just can't find elsewhere. This shop is part of a branded company based in Australia that just opened in August. They have a plethora of games to sell and maybe a dozen to play. They do Tuesday night game nights and other game nights/tournaments. Their focus is on selling games but you can play games for free in the back. This area is rather sterile with bright lights with plain tables and chairs + 3 pieces of comfy furniture. They also sell Pop Funko figures as well. I can't help but compare to Game Paradise in Fountain Square. The latter is focused on being a game library with 2,000 games but also has a small selection of games to sell + geeky handmade items bought from Etsy. The pros: games to buy and free to play select games. Great customer service. The cons: very bright and clean looking, but it's in a way that lacks character. To play games I prefer wooden furniture and dimmer lighting. However, I can see this place being very friendly to groups since it has such a large space. Also, parking downtown can always be a problem. It's great to have another geeky space downtown! Really adds to the area. There's Downtown Comics on the circle and then this place a couple blocks away. The employee was very friendly and explained things. I'll have to visit again to play games! read more

If you are wanting Pokémon cards I wouldn't recommend coming here. There are plenty of other good stores around Indianapolis that sell Pokémon products. This store has a lot of bulk if that's what you are looking for but their main intention is to try and make it seem as the only cards they sell are the higher priced ones. There is a binder they have to hold all the normal priced Vs and cards of that nature that they keep behind the counter and it was like pulling teeth to get the employee to let me look at it. They were saying the prices were out of date, they needed to go through them, and other excuses to prevent me from seeing them. When I eventually did look through the binder I found a few I needed and the employee then somewhat fought me on selling them as since they mentioned that the prices were out of date, I asked them to price the 4-5 cards I was interested in. Again, it was like I had to twist their arm to even price and then sell the cards to me. I have visited twice now and both times employees have pushed back on allowing me to look at cards that they have. I don't understand the pushback on actually trying to purchase cards. Overall though the store is nice, it is clean, the environment is open, they have tables to play games at, snacks to purchase, and even mystery boxes of board games they've curated. I recommend giving the store a look if you are into board games but not if you want to buy Pokémon cards. As a newbie in the board game community it can be somewhat intimidating to walk into a BGS for the first time as there are TONS of games in the store but honestly, the clerk there was so helpful in asking questions as to what I prefer and if he could help me at all. Went in knowing I wanted Robinson Crusoe but I appreciated the gesture. The prices here are really on par with the market and they don't overcharge at all, honestly, it beats buying from Amazon any day because you KNOW you're getting the real deal as well as helping them out. MTG inventory is deceptively large with a self-serve kiosk to check for that one card you need. Close to a couple of great places to grab food and the convention center. Absolutely adore this little game shop! It's bigger on the inside than it looks at first glance and they have something for everyone. I also really enjoy that they have meetups and learn to play sessions for different games. They also had an intersectional pride flag up which means a lot to me. I purchased the game Smash Up - Bigger Geekier Box, fairly impulsively because I heard smash up was a fun game. I didn't read closely and what I assumed was the base game and an expansion was in fact just a giant card board box with inserts for storing the various versions of Smash Up. Somehow the incompetent clerk did not know this either and even though I made a comment at the register about how "I was getting an extra expansion for only 10 more dollars," he did not correct me or look at the box. When I tried to return the game for the base game which they had in the store he refused me and offered me a 15% off discount on a purchase. At Commandfest on 07/09/22 I felt belittled, mistreated, like I was treated differently because of my skin color. After 3o mins of being in line trying to trade in cards towards the value of $175. I was told by one the Vendors working there that they were going to put someone infront me that had arrived after I had arrived and they were waiting in the other line on the other side. I spoke up and told them that I was next and explained that they came in 10 minutes after I was already in line. I was told that the gentleman they were placing in front of me had been there yesterday trading cards to them for 12 hour. I told them that they were going to loose my business in a respectful and upset way. After that then the Vendor asked me if I wanted him to do my trade in right there and then. By that time it was to late I felt belittled, like I meant nothing and felt like my skin color and how I looked played a part. They have a good selection of games to buy at the front of the store, while the back of the store has tables and chairs to try out some extra-unique games from their cabinet.
