I placed my order over the phone for delivery only to be called back 5 minutes later and told they don't deliver to me (which was the first thing I asked her when I called to place the order originally!!) SInce I had given my credit card number I thought it best to go pick up the food. Over the phone I was quoted 45 minutes for delivery so I drove to the restaurant around that time. I waited almost 20 minutes to get my food. Nobody at the restaurant was apologetic or even considerate about the whole thing. On the positive side, their food is quite good. Very disappointed, this restaurant had really good food in the past. We ordered delivery and received most of our order when I called and told them what was missing they said they were really busy and could come and pick up the missing items and the girl on the phone said she didn't have time to deal with this and passed me of to someone else. I was then told that someone would bring the items . So we waited for an hour we called again and they said they were on their way with another delivery when we finally received the missing meal parts we were not impressed with any of their food. I used to love this place, but my last two experiences here have not been very good. Both times I ordered the bourbon chicken. The fried rice and egg rolls were great, but the bourbon chicken was over cooked and fatty and this last time I ordered it all stuck together. Definitely not what bourbon chicken should look like. I hadn't had Chinese and a while and was looking for a possible cheat meal so I figured I try this place. I ordered over the phone a order of Vietnamese soft spring $3.50 rolls and General Tso chicken $10.50 I showed up about 40 minutes after the call and my food was ready and waiting for me. The spring rolls weren't the best I've had. They didn't have any herbs in then just lettuce and bean sprouts noodles, and the rice paper was breaking. Also the peanut sauce had too much rice vinegar. I wouldn't recommend trying them here if it's your first go at them. The General Tso chicken on the other hand was great! The portion was really big. It could feed at least 4-5 people in my opinion which for $10.50 isn't a bad, but it didn't benefit me as this was for one person and I couldn't finish even a quarter of it. This is definitely the best Chinese restaurant I've been to in Hampton. Food is always fresh and I've yet to be disappointed with a choice. Over priced and over cooked. I've gotten take out from them twice and will never again. This time I got Szechuan chicken and my wife got the teriyaki chicken sticks. The Szechuan chicken was very overcooked and tasted burnt. The teriyaki chicken was dried out and bland. We also had pork egg rolls which were bland. The only thing that was alright was the pork fried rice which was only slightly better than regular take out Chinese. We also got the sweet and sour chicken and pork combo. This is my go-to Chinese place. I recently started working in Hampton again and I've ordered take out from this place at least four or five times in the last month and a half. The food is always hot and fresh (I have a 20-25 minute drive to get home) and the order is always correct. It can be a little tricky to get through to them on the phone on a Friday night, but I've only ever given up on trying to reach them once. My husband and I ate here last night, and wow, we cannot wait to come back. There are numerous menu choices. They also offer Korean and Vietnamese. I had the Yummy Chicken and he had the Peanut Chicken, which came in a beautiful boxed plate also including Sweet and Sour Chicken, orange slices, fried rice, and egg roll. We ate in here. The interior is quite simple with no frills. The staff saves the frills for the absolutely delicious food. On the front of the restaurant is a blue sign posting that Good Fortune has been voted as a top Chinese restaurant in the Hampton Roads area. I can see why. read more

Apparently their online ordering system isn't working either and they are very rude about that. Takeout takes forever, i think they don't start making it until you show up , so calling ahead is useless. The decor is horrible, and in need of a major overhaul. At there tonight and ordered steamed shrimp and vegetables. It tasted average until I had a long blond hair in my food. Since my hair is dark, I was a little grossed out. They brought me another plate. I asked to speak to manager and she came out and apologized. However, she had no idea where that hair could have come from even though they had several waitresses with light hair that was only tied in a pony tail but still hanging long.
