I used to buy from Good Eggs years ago when I was within walking distance from a pick-up site and the selection was much smaller. I always really enjoyed everything, and appreciated the local selection, but once my first kid was born, couldn't really afford to spend as much on specialty foods. Now I have 2 kids and often have groceries delivered - first from Instacart and then from Amazon Prime/ Whole Foods - because between meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking, preparing meals for a family took up a huge portion of my available time. When I realized Good Eggs offered both free delivery and now a huge selection of foods, I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The food quality was better than my experiences with Whole Foods delivery, the prices are comparable (so just to be clear, not cheap but not comparable if you're already used to paying Whole Foods prices), and the experience was much better. Especially the packaging - so much more minimal and recyclable or reusable - my WF shoppers put EVERYTHING into a separate plastic bag (like bananas, e.g.). And the customer service was much better - Good Eggs followed up immediately to ask how everything went. I've only used the delivery service once, so I can't speak to the consistency but everything was awesome the first time. I've already told a bunch of friends to try it and I'm definitely gonna keep using it. read more

Two stores for the concept. Well, five stars for the concept. But zero to one stars for the execution. This is the second time there's been a screw up with my delivery. This time was ridiculous - I set delivery for between 6p-8pm, got a text that my delivery was set for 6pm-8pm, texted back at 815 to say "where's my order?" (no response), emailed to ask about my order (no response) and, at 845, called and left a message, asking about my order and for a phone call back. At 9pm, I got a text saying there was a delay at their foodhub, and my order would be here close to 945. Seriously? To remedy the screw up, they're crediting my account $20. I understand that mistakes happen, but it seems like the mark of a good company is how it deals with mistakes. Here, not only did they not tell me about the mistake until well after the fact, and not respond to my requests to figure out what was going on, but the remedy they're providing is a credit towards a *future* order. This is slightly presumptuous, yes? What if I don't want to order from them again? It puts the onus for solving the problem on me, not the company. The remedy should be to comp a portion of this order. It's not so much the money (trust, if you're ordering from Good Eggs, you're fine spending money on the food), but the Amateur Night nature of it that is so incredibly irritating. I was hoping Good Eggs could replace Instacart for me (a mess in its own way) but, so far, not so much. read more

Good Eggs! Oh Good Eggs, how I love you so. You have truly blown my mind. We are a busy working family with 2 little kids and have fallen deeply, madly, wholeheartedly in love with this company. We had previously been using a combination of Instacart (Berkeley Bowl and Costco) and SunBasket and had been really quite happy with this combo. SunBasket was really gourmet and delicious and organic and fun. Instacart is simple and wonderful. Then, someone recommended Good Eggs and we started ordering all of our weekly food + the 3 meal weekly kit and have been just overjoyed with everything. The quality of the ingredients is amazing, the meals are super simple to put together and really let the freshness of the ingredients shine through. Love that everything is local and organic. I also have been putting together baskets as gifts lately (new parents, hostess thank you's etc.); wine, chocolate and flowers delivered for me with a gift note. TOTALLY SOLD. The 3 servings per meal kit is brilliant (I no longer eat the cafeteria food at work) and they even have lunch kits for my kids to take to school. LONG LIVE GOOD EGGS! read more

The quality of the products and selection is pretty good. Customer service has been responsive. However, I've noticed some weighing inconsistencies with weight slightly under than what is advertised and charged. But today I was really disappointed. And would suggest for clients to weigh products especially those sold as bundles. Today, I ordered 2 bundles of Komatsuna greens. They advertise as approximately 0.5 lbs per bundle at $3.49 per bundle and price at $6.98/ lb. I was charged for the 2 bundles $6.98 (3.49 x 2 bundles). I weighed my items because I noticed the bundles were very small. I have ordered this before. My 2 bundles only weighed at total of 0.620 lbs (one was 0.296 lbs, the other one 0.328 lbs). If I was truly getting my money's worth at $6.98/ lb then it should only have cost $4.33. While I am pretty sure and hopeful that this is non-intentional as It is challenging to price and weigh bundles; it is certainly disappointing to have this much a discrepancy, because all this also adds up in terms of getting our money's worth. Perhaps looking into weights more carefully would be helpful. In truth, I would continue to patronize but will be cautions and will reach out to them when such discrepancies are noted. Again, their customer service has been responsive and I am hopeful that that piece continues. read more

I've been using their service biweekly since late 2016 and most of my early orders with them were either missing items or grossly underweight. Their customer service is amazing though and they tend to respond back pretty quickly and fix their mistake by sending in a replacement product or by crediting the account. For a period of time in 2017, most of their orders were fine with both items and deliveries. But lately, especially starting 2018, their deliveries have started becoming later and later, sometimes hours after the window has passed. The annoying part is that they sometimes won't inform the delivery will be late until the end of the time window they give. This can be pretty frustrating if you're staying home from work to take care of the delivery or have an appointment that you need to leave for. The quality (& the variety) of the produce is pretty awesome. I still have to run to Whole Foods (spices, grains, flours) & Costco (seafood) for some options but it's worth it to have the majority of the stuff delivered. I love that the employees of the company get 2% equity, even if they are hourly employees. I love supporting a company that not only sources well for their products but tries to establish a good business structure. read more

Very nice selection and the delivery service is great (friendly and reasonably on time-ish) but the customer service phone/email people are simply awful. I don't think it is ever wise to blame customers for your shortcomings in service or communication. I placed my first order this week - and it was one single item - a frozen roli roti porchetta "kit" at $95. First - the driver had an incorrect address. When he finally came - the "kit" was missing the onion marmalade and seasoning salt - and cooking directions. When I reached out to Good Eggs - they said the supplier left out the other items from the box and that they couldn't help me so they would refund me $20 - and then gave me instructions on how to make my own onion marmalade and offered to place an order for me for an onion, rosemary and salt - which I saw now sitting in my shopping cart. This was clearly not what was advertised so I simply asked for a refund - and after about 5 emails back and forth, they said they were sending a driver to pick up - driver called - and of course went to the wrong address again - so I gave him my correct address and waited for a bout 45 minutes for him to show - which he never did. When I called him back, he said he wasn't coming because another driver was closer. I ordered one item - total incompetence from start to finish. Good Eggs has been an absolute life changer. I'm a full time working mom of two kids and have outsource many tasks but this is easily my favorite grocery delivery and meal kit service. Instacart, Thistle, Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, Munchery, Sprig . . you name it, I've tried them all but I will always come back to Good Eggs for high quality groceries, great customer service, and the best meal kit offerings. Their prices may be slightly higher than some but it is 100% worth it for the quality you get and I find that my family wastes less food and eats healthier with Good Eggs. I started using Good Eggs a couple of months ago and I can't stop talking about how great it is to all my friends. It is the future of getting the best food for the best price directly from the farmers, fishermen (women), bakers et al. Organically grown, lots of gluten free choices, box lunches. Absolutely delicious and incredibly easy to order on line. You can have it delivered or pick it up yourself at a location convenient to you. And the people at the delivery (very cute) trucks are super nice. They hand you your order with your name on it, everything ready to go, with a big smile and handshake. I am in love with this company! At first, I was simply a huge fan of their grocery delivery--so easy to use, with high quality products, beautiful produce, super responsive customer service. And then--I discovered the meal kits. They are SO good. We have ordered the vegetarian weeknight 3-dinner kit several times, and the meals were fantastic. I have been very satisfied with all my orders from Good Eggs. I can get items in one delivery that I would have to go to 3 different stores to find or are not available near me. The meal kits are a fun way to change up my routine cooking, the fruit and veggies are fresh and tasty. I also really enjoy the precut veggies, the hydroponic lettuce is out of this world and I can get almond milk that is just make from almonds and water. Love it. Absolutely love it! The produce is amazing! I buy tons of apples, wheat grass, aquaponic lettuce. Soy free eggs! Good Eggs has very unique items and such creative foods. Recently tried watermelon radishes. I order twice a week and beats the heck out of fighting the crowds and long lines in Sunnyvale. It's packaged so well too. For years I've been a loyal Whole Foods Market shopper. However, recently they've had a lot of out of stocks. I did a side by side price comparison of my grocery list between Good Eggs and Whole Foods. Buying my weeks worth of groceries from Good Eggs only comes to about $6.00 more than if I went to Whole Foods. And for all the times I go to Whole Foods and they're out of the things I need and I have to go back again, the extra $ for Good Eggs is more than worth it! I would give them five stars if they had everything I need on my usual list but they seem receptive to looking into new items as long as they meet their standards so hopefully in the near future I can do all my shopping through them. My deliveries have been 100% on time and accurate so far. Also, lots of great vegan options. read more

I elected to try this service (rather than go to Safeway after work) and gladly paid a higher price for the convenience of getting beautiful organic groceries delivered to my door. Your delivery team is terrible. I've been waiting for food since 10am today ONLY because your rude delivery person never delivered the food I order yesterday which was also more than an hour outside of the delivery window. You've tried to make it up by paying for the food but if I'm required to wait 4+ HOURS for delivery 1)how fresh can any thing be? 2) who cares if you have great food if you never get it and 3) apparently delivering to my building must like Bermuda Triangle because as you can see from the complaint log it's a sad tale of lost drivers. I've tried but nothing I've done or can do seems to help. If I continue with this service it will be my own fault because I've provided ample opportunities to support corrective action over a period lasting months and months. I'm sure one lost customer is not of value to you but my money and time are worth something to me and I'm confident there is a service that can reliably deliver high quality food when promised. Initially, I loved Good Eggs. They were dependable, the produce was high quality, and the meal kits excellent. Now, the delivery is always rescheduled, the boxes are packed terribly (broken eggs, squished items, ice packs haphazardly placed, most recently my order was a random assortment of 4 boxes, and easily could have fit into one), and items are too often listed out of stock right before delivery, so it's too late to get a replacement. In every recent order, I've had rotten produce (REALLY unmistakably rotten) or an item with an expiration date the day after delivery, and should have been good for at least a week. I occasionally reach out to customer service about it, but I'm tired of sending photos of rotten food, and not getting a replacement. It's not about a $3 refund, it's that I actually didn't have time to go to the store for specific ingredients, which to me is the whole point of paying a little extra for this service. I was enchanted, but it has gone WAY downhill. read more

I hoped Good Eggs would replace regular trips to the market but after trying them I won't be using them again. A key item was missing which was a problem for dinner that night (other reviewers said the same about missing items). The pantry items (which should be kept dry) were packaged with the freezer items and therefore were damp & cold, so they were ruined (and what wasn't ruined will go bad if I put it in the cupboard, so it no longer has a shelf life). The apples were bruised, developed soft spots within a day and tasted bitter. The oranges started rotting two days later (I picked one up and my finger went right through a soft spot in the rind and pulp). One of the paper bags of apples had a dirty mark that looked like the sole of a sneaker (someone stepped on the bag?!). The produce all had a weird flavor even after washed and was greasy - tasted like hair oil (do employees wash their hands before handling produce?). With missing & damaged items, Good Eggs wastes your time (because you still have to go to the market to get the items you need), and you get low quality produce (that's more expensive than even the most expensive markets in SF). They get two stars for delivering on time and for the items that were ok. Another thing: I laughed when I saw the review about a maniac driver on 280 because I saw a reckless driver in a Good Eggs van on 101 a few weeks ago who was speeding and weaving through traffic at a dangerous pace. Unsafe driver who shouldn't be on the road, much less driving as a job. read more

Mother's day is tomorrow, I placed three orders this past Wednesday, the Web site only allowed one item per order, I called the provided contact number and the hours of operation, one ever picks up. Throughout the week two ladies returned my calls, I requested changed on the orders, it was a hot mess of confusion. Also why would you authorize an order to be sent to half moon bay and not deliver because you do not service the area. I didn't find out until I called the third time. If i didnt make the multi attempt to inquired about the order, my in law woild be waiting fir a now show delivery. Today is the day before mothers day. I checked my email and a long email stating my card was declined?? Call your customers please, make a second attempt via phone, confirm the card number, location and place order numbers for your orders. Horrible inconvenience for customers who do not live via email, make an attempt to call a customer when an issue happens. read more

I've ordered from Good Eggs dozens of times, and find it an excellent option for our regular shopping for all of our grocery needs, even compared with the abundance of excellent food shopping options available in SF. Produce, eggs, dairy, meat, bread, pantry items, you name it. Their customer service is prompt and very customer friendly as well. While we enjoy going to farmers markets in person, we often appreciate the convenience of getting high quality farmers market type items by placing an order in a random spare 5 minutes at home. read more
