Step right up to the old-school counter and place your order for a massive deli sandwich, their homemade meatballs, or even the stuffed peppers - which are to die for! You can tell that the whole menu is homemade, with love in every bite. It feels like Grandma's cooking - just the epitome of a wholesome community spot that you can tell has been a staple here for years. Service is fast and friendly; the lady that served us was very kind and made us feel right at home. The camaraderie is great in here - they know their customers, and even if it's your first visit to Pete's, you'll leave feeling like a regular. In addition to the deli and prepared foods, Pete's also has market/convenience store staples. Any meal here is not complete without a locally made glass bottle soda - you'll feel like you're back in the shop's heyday. Don't miss this - I expect to see it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives one day!

Worst experience at a grocery store ever. I have been buying food from this Stop & Shop for 15…read moreyears now and have never had a worse experience. First of all I chose to shop at around 8:30 pm because the store is more empty and i am usually able to have a very pleasant shopping experience. Not today. At the check out line I had to bag my own groceries, (third trip in a row I had to do the employees job), despite 3 workers standing around in the self checkout area doing nothing. I was the only person in the store, I expected some assistance with a full cart of groceries but instead 2/3 employees walked right past me as i was doing their job, they did not offer to help. What made this even worse was the manager of the store was walking around supervising, adjusting shelves while these workers were standing idle allowing the customer to do their job.

If this wasn't the only supermarket for miles, I'd never step foot in this place again. But being…read morethe backwater of Connecticut with few options... Unpleasant shopping experience every time. Prices are sky high, customer service is surly, eyeballed at self checkout like a criminal, self scanners that malfunction, and crowded aisles. This store is in severe need of better management and better deals. And please tell your employees that gossiping and complaining about the store to other employees in the aisles and at the cash register in front of customers is really unprofessional. For major grocery shopping, I'll drive the extra 10 miles on the 78 (cringe) to Walmart just to avoid this store.

Every time I walk through the door, I'm greeted by the smell of fresh, high‑quality meats and the kind of friendly, knowledgeable service you just don't get anywhere else. Their butchers are true professionals -- you can ask for custom cuts, cooking tips, or recommendations, and they always take the time to help without rushing you along. The selection is outstanding. Whether you're looking for everyday staples, specialty cuts, or something unique for a holiday or big family gathering, they have it -- and it's always fresh. Their marinated options are consistently flavorful, their sausages are some of the best around, and their steaks are the kind you proudly serve to guests. You can tell everything is handled with care and pride. What really sets Westerly Packing apart is the experience. The staff treats you like a regular even if it's your first visit. The store is clean, well‑organized, and clearly run by people who love what they do. Prices are fair for the quality you're getting, and you always leave feeling like you got real value. If you care about great food and supporting a business that genuinely cares about its customers, Westerly Packing is a must. Five stars all the way. Ask them to try Westerlys gold!! Also ingredients such as cinnamon and coriander and other herbs and spices. You help yourself and pour them into a bag, weigh it out and bring out up to the register and pay by the weight. I love it! No waste! They also sell the jars here needed to make my balms and salves. Living on Westerly for over 10 years, I must admit that parking downtown does scare me. There's never any spots. Although the handful of times I've decided to go to Herbwise I've gotten extremely lucky with parking right on front. I can't help you out here. I have no good tips or secrets for parking near here. I do know that right past the post office there is a small parking lot.

They have natural foods, supplements, lotions, soaps and more. When I go in it's usually for a specific product that I'm looking for. She usually has it, or some variation of it. I just paid them a visit the other day to get some kind of topical headache remedy. Tylenol just wasn't working for me and I can't take anything else. She had two different types and I went with the most herb-y one, it was pricy but aren't all natural stores and products? They validate your ticket for parking if you can't get a park on the street, which you usually can't. Customer service is always friendly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I had asked her to order a specific product for me and she would write it down saying that she would, she never did. Finally after checking back four separate times and her never having I gave up and just ordered it in bulk online. She could have just been honest and told me she didn't have intentions on ordering it in the first place and saved me the trip. Overall, this a good place.

The selection is pretty wide for its size, but it's still pretty limited. To be honest, I wish they had some stuff like tobiko and masago, or Chelsea candy, or Meltykiss. On a positive note, they have dumplings, baozi, and xiaolongbao with pork filling. All the dumplings I find in western grocery stores are filled with chicken, and honestly, that's pretty much the same crime as a tofurkey. You want real dumplings? Get pork dumplings. I wish they had them in like... 5 lb bags like you can find in Kam Man up in Quincy, though. They have a lot of the more popular selections, with wider varieties, as well. Lots of ramune, many, many types of noodles, shiro and awase miso (I think they also have aka miso, but I didn't notice), lots of teas. I think I also saw some big bags of rice cakes for making tteokbokki. Also, if you like making food from scratch for yourself, they have a pretty good selection of harder to find ingredients. Like, different types of soy sauces, calamansi juice, star anise, etc. They even have kansui if you want to make ramen from scratch. I'll be coming here more often in the future.

Ethnic food shopping can be frustrating especially when you're looking for something in particular. Another huge improvement- credit/debit payments! Minimum purchase of $15. New Point Of Sale for itemized receipts. Like I've said earlier- freshly cooked meats, and veggies, and pastries ($2 for various baked pastries) every Thursday. My family goes nuts for the baked roast pork buns. They're 8 small buns for $7.50. Heat them up for like 40 seconds. As for the bbq meats they may have roast pork (cha sieu), fire roasted pig (lechon), roasted duck, soy sauced chicken, salted chicken, white cut chicken (ba chi gai) and others depending on availability. For the fire roasted pig I suggest heating it up in a broiler, skin side up, on a low rack and watch it carefully. The skin will be perfectly crispy like chicharrones (pork rinds). I like that this place sells the veggies by the pound and you bag them yourself. Many times I've bought prepackaged veggies to find some not so fresh ones in the package. Also I don't like to buy that many veggies usually so I like to pick up just enough for what I need. Since the management change I have been here every Thursday. Glad to see the many needed upgrades!

Walking in still feels like stepping into a slice of neighborhood history, the kind of place where the walls could probably tell a few stories and every regular has a favorite order. And the grinders? Still absolute classics. Somehow they've managed to preserve that 100‑year flavor profile--hearty, perfectly layered, and packed with the kind of seasoning and balance that only comes from decades of doing it right. It's comfort food with character, the kind of grinder that reminds you why these small markets matter. The new ownership seems committed to honoring what made Reale's special while giving it just enough polish to keep things running smoothly. Service is friendly, quick, and familiar in that "we've known you forever" kind of way. Why not five stars? Mostly because transitions always come with a little room to grow--tightening up consistency during busy hours, maybe expanding a few offerings--but honestly they're well on their way. The heart of Reale's is still beating strong, and the grinders alone are worth the stop. A true local staple that's managed to keep its soul intact. Four stars and a big nod of appreciation for keeping the tradition alive. Cheers
