I never think of crepes as a lunch item, but Good Day has me totally rethinking that! It's always SO difficult to pick which vendor you are going to pick when you visit the City Foundry, but on a recent visit with my buddy Topher, I was ravenously hungry and picked the first place I got to, which was Good Day. While it was definitely on my list to try, their location as the first stall definitely gives them an advantage for people coming into the City Foundry food hall. Their booth is quaint and cozy with nice tiling on the front. I love how each vendor gets to put their own touches on the space to make it their own. The employees of Good Day were SO friendly, and worked diligently. I was there slightly before the lunch rush and I could tell they were in prep mode. But they kept smiles on their faces and helped me choose my meal. I went with the curry chicken crepe. It was such an interesting take on what I'd expect from a crepe; it practically leapt off the menu and onto my tray. The fluffy crepe housed tender, flavorful chicken, chickpeas, spinach and a veggie mix. I thought Good Day did a great job of capturing the essence of a tandoori meal inside this delicious meal. The crepe was covered in a thicker curry sauce that was perfect for a salt lover like myself. Would have loved a little more zing to it, but it worked well with the rest of the flavors inside the crepe. What I also appreciated about the crepe from Good Day was the portion size. While I was very hungry at the time, the serving was just right. I wasn't overly stuffed nor did I walk away wanting more. The menu at Good Day is creative and has so many options. I cannot wait to return to tried their fried meatball crepe which basically looks like a toasted ravioli the size of a dinner plate.

But other than that that's the only complaint that I have. Friendly staff, amazing food and drink. I love the lotus crepe as well as the barbecue chicken, I have to admit I could eat one of those about every single day of my life. I loved the banana bread espresso. There's four shots in it so just FYI. Maybe don't drink it after 5:00 p.m. like I did but it was still worth it. The ambiance of this place is absolutely adorable with a rich emerald colored green chair and couch with nice cognac colored armchairs, and a nice fireplace at the head of the cafe gives a cozy and warm ambiance as well as the beautiful Christmas decorations that they had while I was there made it a place that a lot of people wanted to hang out. There were at least six other tables with friends and family just chatting which honestly led to a really nice sense of community which a lot of places in America don't have. And I found this place to be absolutely lovely and worth every penny. A true gem to Oakville!

It's in a little strip mall in Chesterfield Valley. There are a few little tables outside on the sidewalk. It was a little cool so we opted to sit inside. There isn't a hostess stand, but a server saw us and came and told us to sit wherever we would like. There are about a dozen tables in there and I believe they all seat two, but staff would push them together for larger groups. When we got there, there were a fair number of tables open and by the time we left, people were waiting for tables. There are also four seats at a counter. It's not a huge space, but it's a decent size and really cute! We ordered our lattes and checked out the menu. We had to make hard decisions because everything sounded good! We decided we were going to get savory crepes. We both really enjoyed our meals - it was so good! Our server (can't remember her name) was great! I initially visited this place because it's a rare downtown restaurant with great street parking so I always knew I could find a spot (huge plus!). My first visit I tried the blackberry cheesecake stuffed French toast but It didn't seem like it was truly stuffed with any cheesecake. It had some on top though and the flavor was still great, just a bit dry. I should've gotten a bit of syrup on the side. I washed it down with an iced French toast latte that was crazy good so I ordered one to go. Finally my server was Molli and she was just perfect. Sweet, talkative, and attentive -- oh and to top it off she saved my butt after I left my credit card there. I hope she sees this because I appreciate her! The next two times I visited that week I was craving oatmeal and they delivered in an elevated fashion. Their banana walnut oatmeal is decadent. I love boring oatmeal at home but it doesn't have to be boring. Half & Half elevates this humble dish into an incredibly tasty experience. I can't get oatmeal at other places now! I washed it down with some OJ that was just alright. It doesn't taste like it's freshly squeezed in house like other breakfast spots in Clayton but it's hardly a complaint. I will visit this warm and cozy spot many times over.

This year, when thinking about where I wanted to go to celebrate my birthday, it was a really quick…read moredecision for me to make. I knew Half & Half was the only place on my mind! For some reason, the waitlist online was not available so we could not get on the list ahead of time so I am not sure if they took that down or if they just turned it off or what. But that didn't bother me because I was willing to wait if needed. Where Half & Half is located is on a really busy street in Clayton and you really only have the option to find a street parking spot. Maybe you get lucky and find one out front? Or maybe you are like me and need to park 4-5 blocks away and take a little walk. Either way, you can find parking if you are willing to walk a bit. Upon arriving, there were already a ton of people waiting to be seated so I already knew it would be a wait. I talked with the hostess and added my name (party of 2) to the list and was told it would be about 30-45 minutes wait. The restaurant is not very large, so on a cold day, I did not want to wait outside. Instead, I was able to find a little spot in the corner near the bar and just tried to take up as little space as possible while waiting. Eventually, I received the text that our table was ready and so we made our way to the hostess stand (had to make out way through crowds of people who were also waiting) and then the hostess walked us over to our booth for two. It was just perfect for us. Tim, our server came over right away to greet us and offered us coffee or other drinks. Once we ordered, he gave us some time to review the menu and went on his way to grab our drinks. When he came back, we were ready to order, and, of course, I think I had a difficult order, but Tim made it possible and wasn't even bothered by request. I really just wanted a smaller portion of the Clara cake (to share) and then I asked for a scrambled egg and some turkey bacon. I thought this would be a complicated order, but he made it work and I am so grateful for that. My hubby ordered one of the hash bowls with steak. While waiting for our food, we enjoyed coffee and Tim made sure our cups were filled. He even brought over some bailey's for the coffee for my hubby to add since I ordered a mimosa as my cocktail of choice. When the food came out, it was all so fresh and delicious. I legit love the Clara cake so much and it really made my birthday super special! The eggs were super fluffy and the turkey sausage was also good. Since I did not finish my meal, Tim offered to bring over a box and a bag and then he made sure we were all set before he gave us the bill. Since the restaurant was still super busy, we did not hang out for much longer after paying. Instead, we paid, packed up and were out the door. Honestly, the food is always my favorite here. But this visit was even extra awesome since Tim took such good care of us. Servers are busy and I appreciated how he took good care of us. Thanks to Half & Half for the delicious meal and thanks to Tim for the service! I'll be back.

The cookies arrive hot and gooey to the table - yum. The only 2 drawbacks I will mention...it seemed very loud and we were sitting under one of the arches so we were trying to determine was the restaurant really that loud or were we getting conversations from other areas because of the arches? The other item I will mention is the website does not seem to be up to date with the latest selection - or maybe it needs to be broken out into Lunch and Dinner menus...a person in our party looked at the menu online and when he went to order, he wanted one of the sandwiches shown online (which was not identified as lunch only) and he was not able to order the sandwich. General observation: I would guestimate 90% of the seating is booth seating...it just seemed high and just an observation - not good, not bad.

The interior is small, about 20 seats spread across different tables. There is an area to place orders, but that's for carry out. You also check in there and then grab any open table if you are going to eat in. The interior is decorated with random stuff that is meant to look French, but just makes it appear cluttered. We ordered a couple of breakfasts and waited for a while for them to come out. Coffee was basic and the London fog was really watered down. But the worst was when the food came, I ordered over easy eggs, and the came out way undercooked. Like, still very liquid. But since our server never came back to check on us, I ate everything else. While we waited, we heard them explain to someone that they don't make most of their pastries, which was disappointing. When our sever finally came back to drop off the check I showed her the eggs and asked for them to be taken off the bill. She tapped on the handheld device for a second and handed it to me for payment. When I asked for a copy of the receipt, she seemed nervous. After I got it, i noticed that it had not been taken off. She left to go to other tables and I didn't feel like being there anymore. I would suggest skipping this place and trying the other restaurants in the area. Better food and better service!

My friend's order was: Rice & Bean Bowl - No lettuce - Add cheese, spinach, and onions - About 4 sides of ranch Large coffee with a shot of caramel I repeated everything more than once to avoid confusion. Instead of simply entering the order, the employee questioned almost every item. She insisted the bowl came with cheese--until I showed her the menu where it clearly does not. Then she questioned the toppings I asked to be added. At this point, I even had to call my friend while standing there because she kept challenging what I was asking for. Before I paid, I said again, "Please make sure the order is correct." I also clarified, "I don't want a latte. I want a coffee with a shot of caramel." The total came out to $30.82 for two items, which is already high, but I was willing to pay it as long as the order was right. When I dropped the order off, my friend took one sip of the drink and immediately said, "What is this?" It was clearly not a regular coffee. So I drove right back. When I told the employee she gave me the wrong drink, she insisted she made it correctly. My friend told me the regular coffee comes from the machine near the door with caramel added--yet the employee pointed to the latte machine and acted like that was the same thing. It wasn't. Not only did she get the drink wrong after all the clarification, but they didn't offer a refund, remake, apology, nothing. Just a I'm sorry after messing up the order I tried so hard to make clear. Please check your order before leaving this place. I couldn't taste the drink because it wasn't mine.
