Check the BBB website for Tempe AZ complaints and F rating. My complaint is exactly the same as those on the BBB website. The "trainer" Jim in this case, shows up one time, gives a three hour boiler plate presentation about pack animal behavior and about 30 min of actual training then gives YOU all the responsibility to train your dog...for $1K! He only came once for first meeting I mentioned and after almost 6 weeks went by with zero follow-up, I reached out and told him in person that I hired him to train my dog and that I want my money back. The Bark Busters website is purposely misleading and vague indicating they will work with you to develop a training foundation, etc. They won't..they'll gaslight you that you are doing it wrong after ONE 30 min hands-on session. I am currently filing a complaint with the NM Attorney General and BBB to try and get my money back...These are bad people taking a lot of money up front with no actual training given. If I could choose minus stars, I would.

He's a whopping 8lb. and a Chihuahua/poodle/Yorkie terrier/Maltese mix aka a mutt! He had no training at all. He was definitely a mess. Anyways, we desperately needed some dog training, and I searched all over Albuquerque. Jon was the only person I could find that offered a free consult. I really didn't want to pay to meet a trainer. What if it didn't work out? However, He came to our house for the consult, and Bolt LOVES him. Jon does 3-4 private lessons (sit, place, walking on a leash) and then "promotes" them to dog group class. He's really patient, loves to talk about dogs, and helps to trouble shoot weird dog behaviors. We have been in group class for about a month to 6 weeks. Bolt went from being scared of poop bags and not knowing his own name to being able to sit, place, come when called, and is working on down, off, leave it, and leash walking. Group classes are great, everyone is very supportive and friendly, plus Bolt gets to work on tuning out distractions, as they are held at local parks. These people KNOW DOGS and can help with difficult cases. Their main focus for the obedience training is safety first, and always. Trish and the gang always do an outstanding job training, and making sure you understand the process. They totally understand dogs and I would say they are Albuquerque's Dog Whisperers. The methods are tried and true and I have seen totally outstanding results from them time and again. My children said it's the first camp they have attended where they didn't feel nervous, thanks to the loving instruction from the wonderful assistants and therapy dogs. This camp is perfect for anyone tired of regular summer camps or children in need of therapy services. The dog breeds they have are not aggressive breeds, though you can bring your dog/puppy in for formal training. There were a handful of fluffy lab puppies the week my children attended. What a great idea! The facility is well designed and safe for children and dogs. Melissa Winkle, the owner, is very difficult to contact and numerous days pass before she returns a call. However, she does call back and answers all questions satisfactorily.

During the workshop portion, I enjoyed her informative & interactive teaching style as well as the intimate group (8 people) setting. She presented the core info but incorporated the needs of the group of attendees as well. Being able to participate in the summer camp that she put on was an extra special treat. Most of the attendees had already been trained to work with the dogs and they were eager to help anyone who needed it. Since Winston was a newbie the campers seemed to enjoy the challenge of teaching him new tricks. I was impressed with Melissa's ability to create a safe and fun place for the animals and the campers to enjoy each other and how organized she was. Melissa personally took the time to work on one with me and was very generous with her vast experience/knowledge of handling, dog behavior and incorporating all of that into therapy.
