I took my little puppy in for his first shots. He was seen and given an exam by a vet in the clinic. She was informative, caring and that exam and the shot cost about $75.00. He required a second round of shots three weeks later. Knowing that there would be an additional charges, we took the pup in and he was given and we were required to pay for a second exam. It hadn't been a month but the vet (an older guy) insisted that he would not give the shot without an exam. When questioned about the necessity of a second exam his effort to explain and convince us of the need, he asked, "Well do you want the shot or not?" This time we were charged $95.00. I took my puppy in for his first shots and an exam. Two exams and two rounds of injections later, no underlying or coincident conditions were found and now his first shots have cost me almost two hundred bucks and I'm committed to a third round of shots in three weeks. I would encourage everyone to understand exactly what charges will be before hand. But don't ask anyone there. They seem to get irritated and forget that it is within any customer's right to ask questions. Two hundred bucks for shots. Unbelievable.

The dog breeds they have are not aggressive breeds, though you can bring your dog/puppy in for formal training. There were a handful of fluffy lab puppies the week my children attended. What a great idea! The facility is well designed and safe for children and dogs. Melissa Winkle, the owner, is very difficult to contact and numerous days pass before she returns a call. During the workshop portion, I enjoyed her informative & interactive teaching style as well as the intimate group (8 people) setting. She presented the core info but incorporated the needs of the group of attendees as well. Being able to participate in the summer camp that she put on was an extra special treat. Most of the attendees had already been trained to work with the dogs and they were eager to help anyone who needed it. Since Winston was a newbie the campers seemed to enjoy the challenge of teaching him new tricks. I was impressed with Melissa's ability to create a safe and fun place for the animals and the campers to enjoy each other and how organized she was. Melissa personally took the time to work on one with me and was very generous with her vast experience/knowledge of handling, dog behavior and incorporating all of that into therapy. Check the BBB website for Tempe AZ complaints and F rating. My complaint is exactly the same as those on the BBB website. The "trainer" Jim in this case, shows up one time, gives a three hour boiler plate presentation about pack animal behavior and about 30 min of actual training then gives YOU all the responsibility to train your dog...for $1K! He only came once for first meeting I mentioned and after almost 6 weeks went by with zero follow-up, I reached out and told him in person that I hired him to train my dog and that I want my money back. The Bark Busters website is purposely misleading and vague indicating they will work with you to develop a training foundation, etc. They won't..they'll gaslight you that you are doing it wrong after ONE 30 min hands-on session. I am currently filing a complaint with the NM Attorney General and BBB to try and get my money back...These are bad people taking a lot of money up front with no actual training given. If I could choose minus stars, I would.

Additionally, he felt the need to 'protect' me from intruders and barks constantly when I have guests over and even when the sit down, once they stand back up or make any sudden movements, Lobo goes back into his barking frenzy. Although his facility was full at the time, he was able to give us a lot of helpful guidance, and add our boy to a waiting list for foster or adoption.
