Ok, not sure if I will take my dogs there again! So 2 years ago we took our blue heeler there since we had to travel overseas. We received a call the day before we picked her up that she had a little incident but the vet checked her out and she was fine. Well, when we picked her up we noticed she had a bite on her back. We kind of left it alone. When we took her ho e she was totally afraid of her pillow. The pillow she always slept on so we had to get rid of it. Not sure what happened. Well our beloved Lady passed away last year. We have 2 dogs now and we had to go out of state for 2 days. We took the to Beck and Call and also noticed that the place was very dirty, but we did not have any other choice. We checked the webcam in the evening and it always told us that it was not available. Which made me a bit uneasy. When we picked them up we were told there was something wrong with one of our dogs eye and they put some drops in them. We never received a call, the ey was swollen and her entire eyeball was blood red. That did not look to me like allergies. The. We were told that our other dog did not so so good and they had to keep her separate, even though I asked them to call me if their were any issues. I had a very weird feeling about some of the staff members and believe some of them don't treat those dogs very well. It is very strange to me that at night the cameras are not available. I will not take my dogs there again. I think something else happened to them. They were very withdrawn and not themselves for about 5 days. I do not recommend this place. It is way overpriced for the condition and it is very unsanitary. I rather pay more somewhere else but know my dogs are safe and taken care of.

This is how we knew Dixie took to Bryce.

Great staff and service! Our dog loves to play here and when we need to board this is the only place we go.

My dog is always excited when we pull into the driveway of Beck N Call and can't seem to wait to get in with the other dogs to play.

TL;DR: I would not trust Camp Bow Wow with the safety of my pets…read more My parents boarded their two small dogs at Camp Bow Wow for the very first time while we attended a family event out of state. When we picked them up that evening, one dog had a large, pus-filled wound on her face that staff described only as "a scratch." Although none of us are veterinarians, it was obvious the wound was more serious than that. The next morning, our family veterinarian confirmed it was a puncture wound that had become infected, drained the pus, and explained that it would have required stitches had it been treated sooner. Instead, the dog was prescribed a week of antibiotics. Two weeks later, the wound is healing but still not fully resolved. We contacted Camp Bow Wow to find out what had happened because no one had informed us of any incident before pickup. After investigating, management told us our dog had been injured as collateral damage during a scuffle between another dog and her companion a couple of hours before checkout. They also claimed they had called my parents to discuss the incident. That is not what happened. The only voicemail my parents received stated that both dogs were doing well and asked them to call about exit baths. They returned the call on the way from the airport, reached voicemail, and received no further attempts to contact them. When we asked why veterinary care wasn't sought--or, at a minimum, why my parents weren't notified so they could decide whether their dog should be seen--we were told the injury "did not appear to be severe enough for medical attention" and had only "occurred a couple of hours prior to checkout." This explanation was difficult to reconcile with our veterinarian's findings that the wound was already infected and that too much time had passed for stitches, despite the vet examining her less than 24 hours after the incident allegedly occurred. When we raised these concerns, management stood by their account and stated that pet owners are responsible for any veterinary expenses resulting from their dog's stay. When I asked the facility manager, Sally, about their policy for notifying owners when a dog is injured, specifically by another dog, I never received a clear answer--only a repetition of their version of events. As someone who owns my own two dogs and frequently uses boarding facilities, I understand that kennel staff are not veterinarians. I don't expect them to diagnose injuries. I do expect them to promptly notify pet owners whenever an animal is injured and allow the owner--not the kennel--to decide whether veterinary care is warranted. I also expect honesty and transparency as to when and how an incident occurred, which I do not believe we received in this instance. In my opinion, Camp Bow Wow failed to meet that basic standard of care. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend boarding your pets there.

I adopted 2 dogs (one medium size and one large size) that enjoy meeting other dogs. Both my dogs are pretty active and high energy dogs...so I personally try to walk them outdoors at least a total of 2 hours a day, be it a walk around a neighborhood for a hike/nature walk around some space (I recently tried to avoid dog parks...partly because it's stressful enough to make sure your dogs don't get into a fight..but moreso..some owners are just... downright rude/disrespectful). At Caring Paws, they actually offer both boarding and daycare. For me, I use Caring Paws for daycare as I already have a place I like to board them overnight should that need arise. I love that Caring Paws open early and close late...so you can be more flexible with drop off and pickup times. They also have a large space with both outdoor and indoor area..so I at least feel there's something that's good for my dogs to choose how they want to spend time with their pup friends. My first day leaving my pups at daycare. I also feel it's a great way to get my dogs to socialize more..and simply be stimulated physically and mentally in a different way via doggie daycare. I could tell they enjoyed their time there and came back exhausted (a tired dog is a happy dog!). Given all the things about this daycare, I will likely continue to use this daycare once or twice a week to supplement my time with them the rest of the week. P.S. I like they they offer a 2 hr trial to assess whether your dog would be a good fit before attending daycare as well.
