Love Aries! Used a different day camp previously, which was ok but this is definitely on another level. Staff are super attentive and nice, know my dogs Luna and Moody, take great care of them, they're always happy to go in, just waltz right in. Also good seeing consistent staff, same faces which was not the case at the previous place we used. It's all indoor, separated by weight which is also one of the best parts of Aries. Currently only open Tuesday through Friday likely due to staffing. Wish they were open more days! They are a little more expensive than the previous place we used, but worth it. Kong meal/snack is extra or included however you wanna look at it. They do have packages to bring the cost down, pay more up front for multiple days. I think comes out to about $27 a day with the package. They do have an extensive weeding out process which is good because it ensures only quality dogs are there, make sure they get along with other dogs, do ok in the kennel for a period of time. They also require vaccinations and tick/flea prevention. Notes I took when considering them v. The staff at Arie's Dogland are pretty great! They were on point and knew what they were doing. My dogs enjoyed their grooming experiences there. The first time my first dog went in...he seemed a bit scared and didn't know what to expect. Same as my second dog...but the minute they were done, they walked out feeling like million bucks after grooming. Given that one's not supposed to groom the types of dogs I have often (recommended just once a month)...my dogs kindda shied away from my trying to give them a bath anyways, I trust Arie's Dogland staff to help with the regular grooming...to make sure the dog's skin/fur/nails are still clean, healthy. It doesn't hurt that the staff knew what they were doing and my dogs did not mind going there at all either! This is a wonderful place. You can tell their staff loves dogs. I started my Labrador Doodle when she was 4-5 months old. She was an anxious puppy. It took her a long time to be comfortable. They were so patient with her and encouraging to me. My dog loves all the staff and now looks for everyone who works there. I have had private lessons with her and Millie. She is patient and encouraging to both of us. She gives time to rescue events and facilities. Miranda grooms Millie and she always looks great after her session. It is wonderful that Millie can play and do grooming which really works for her personality. There are 2 groomers that work there. They also sell very good dog food and dog supplies. My husband and I are currently on a cross country road trip with our two pups. We called here to see if they would be able to do an anal glad expression for on of my pups and were told they were not taking new clients. As dog owners we understand how busy groomers can get, but we also know an anal glad expression procedure takes no more than five minutes. My husband did explain the situation but they were very firm on their no. All dog owners know that this can be extremely uncomfortable for their pup so we were shocked with their unwillingness to work with us given their reviews. Our 100 lb Great Dane/Boxer mix has been at Arie's Dogland almost since it opened 9 years ago. He did puppy training there and now goes to the big dog play group once or twice a week. He is a smart, perceptive dog who is good at telling which humans are trustworthy, and he absolutely loves Arie, Miranda, and their fantastic team. Arie's is different from other doggy daycares in that there is a lot more supervision and attention to each dog. Because it's not a free-for-all where more assertive dogs dominate and gentler dogs get bullied or neglected, all the dogs at Arie's tend to become calmer, more confident, and better socialized. A lot of pet businesses seem to focus more on making owners feel good than really caring for animals. Arie's first and last priority has always been the dogs, and this can rub some high-maintenance humans the wrong way. The few low ratings here seem to come from a person who didn't understand that this is a dog care and training facility that also provides grooming (not a dog groomer with slots for drop-ins), and from a couple of folks who don't seem to understand that dogs who have disruptive behaviors and highly strung temperaments can create a lot of anxiety for the whole pack even if they're good-hearted dogs. We're so grateful that Arie makes sure that every dog in her play group is truly ready to be there, that her facilities are never overcrowded, and that it's a low-stress, comfortable space for all the dogs, even if that mean she loses a few customers here and there. Yeah this place sucks. Just noticed I had posted a 5-star review years ago, but that abruptly changed. They kicked my dog out of daycare because he was, and I quote, 'too energetic.' I took my 11 week old puppy in for a short socialization session at Arie's. They're so well run - I didn't have proof of my puppy's first vaccination (but had second) and they (rightfully so) wouldn't let her meet the other dogs. I love that they're this careful with the dog's health, it makes me trust them even more. My pup is shy and they did a really slow introduction with other dogs. Everyone working there seems to love dogs and understand them. Can't wait to bring her UPDATE: Brought my pup back for a groom and it was amazing! I know that wasn't true. instead of apologizing for the possible miscommunication or actual mistake, the owner emailed me that we weren't a good fit and that I should take my dog elsewhere. infuriating. instead of trying to make things better, they sweep it under the rug...out the door! I took my pug puppy to Arie's Dogland for the six-week PuppyPlus training class. I was incredibly impressed with how Arie uses only positive reinforcement to train puppies. I hired Arie to come to my house for a one-on-one training session, and she packed a ton of practical obedience-training strategies and tips into that session. Also, I love Arie's puppy playgroup. When I take my pug there and drop him off, I know he is getting a lot of care and attention. I used to take my previous pug to Camp Bow Wow, and it was so disappointing. They had a video cam, which I would watch a few times while my pug was there. The people who worked there did not interact with the dogs at all. Arie's Dogland is a life saver. Puppies are such hard work and Keira has more energy than most. The first few weeks with her were unbelievably stressful because she just wouldn't stop biting. We noticed a huge difference after just the first day of playgroup...there was hope for our terrorist puppy! Playing with other dogs helped her learn that biting wasn't ok and since then she's been much better behaved at home. Plus, puppy playgroup tires her out like nothing else can! I wish I could comment on Arie's training but we never got that far. I was pretty excited by the quantity of five-star reviews and "Best of ABQ" awards and thought this might be the kind of solid trainer who can fix the behavioral problems in my adopted pup. It was quite difficult to reach Arie. We had several emails go back and forth eventually, and that was the extent of it. There was no talk of cost or length of training programs offered, no opportunity to come witness training or tour the facility, and there was some bad-mouthing of other local training programs, which I found surprising. (I was already willing to give my business, so why not sell the quality of your work instead of spending time disparaging the work of others?) I did not feel that this was a trainer who could help with problem behaviors or one who is interested in new business. Other trainers/companies in the area are more responsive and attentive; immediately set-up free trials, free first lessons, and at a minimum a tour of the facility; and leave me feeling much more satisfied that they have the necessary experience. Haven't made my final decision yet, but unfortunately I will have to continue comparison shopping. read more

I am posting a little late but probably a little over three years ago I went to Arie's Dogland to take my puppy Hope to get obedience trained. we rescued hope from the animal shelter when she was probably about four months old we needed some training so I found Arie's dogland and we attended puppy training and then we went through The second obedience class Hope learned so much and she is such an amazing dog she is a certified service dog for me now and I owe all the training to Arie she is awesome Hope is so well behaved . Arie's Dogland has been the best discovery I have made in quiet some time. After bringing home Hazel our English Bulldog I very quickly realized our oldest Bulldog Lois wanted nothing to do with Hazel and that Hazel didn't know how to play. Hazel found herself on the loosing end of a few disagreements with Lois. After our vet recommended Arie's we gave it a shot! Holy Crap! Hazel has been a completely different puppy. She has been transformed. I am now a believer in how beneficial it is to socialize your puppy. Hazel has learned to play and truly respect the order or the "pack". She comes home on day care days exhausted. She just wants to cuddle and sleep. In addition to all of that... They even find the time to send home notes of everything Hazel experiences in her day, who she plays with, what activities they did. Its a perfect way to wrap up they day. Really disappointed in this place, after reading so many high reviews I was so excited to go and take my two fur pups. They asked for additional shots and documentation for grooming. My dogs have been groomed before usually takes a couple of hours. However where at Aries I was called within 35 minutes they said my dogs were done being groomed and that I needed to pick them up because one of them kept barking. Made me so upset. That day my dogs were just laying and didn't want to play. I will still charged full price and was asked to take them the next day for 10 min to get brushed. A waste of my time! Our goldendoodle Daisy was overdue for a grooming (I've never had a dog that requires regular oil changes) and we took her in for the job. Jade did terrific work on our shaggy friend; the haircut was just right! I adopt older rescue dogs and they often have been abused and come with some behavioral problems. I am so glad that my husband and I discovered Arie and got her help with my newest dog Copper. I have had the pleasure of 2 encounters with Arie/ Arie's Dogland and have nothing but good things to say! Arie came to my home for a one on one with my dog who was removed from a hoarding situation. She was on time, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. Not only does she use reward based training, she takes time to ask the right questions (and plenty of them) about the dogs past, routine, goals, etc to create the best plan for them. We take our puppy Ollie to Arie's for play time and we recently took the puppy class. We highly recommend Arie's for both the class and doggie daycare. The class was really helpful in providing tips to teach puppies basic obedience commands as well as advanced moves if the pups are up for it. Arie was really great about staying after class to discuss any issues you may be having at home and provide you with tips! The doggie day care is awesome! Ollie comes home exhausted from playing with all the other pups. It is very convenient because they open early (7am) for us to take her before work and they offer packages (like a punch card) of half days and full days. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. When they say best in the city, they mean it! Arie's Dogland is probably the best decision I have made for my dog. We use both their playgroup and training. The staff is amazing: so helpful, kind, and really wanting to make sure my pup and I have the best experience. Training was great. If you're even considering it, call and get a spot because they book up fast! The classes are small, I think limited to nine pets, but i really appreciated that because it meant Arie really got to know and help us and our dog in each class session. It lasted seven weeks. The only complaint I have is that there aren't more classes offered to take after the Puppy-plus class (although I was told this is because they currently have such a high demand for puppy classes they're putting most efforts there in regards to training). The playgroup has been wonderful. My dog was SUPER shy when she first started going and they were great about getting her used to it. It helped immensely with socializing my puppy and has really helped her interact with other dogs. Great way to make sure your dog is well cared for while you're at work and that they're worn out when you take them home. read more
