Bad business practice. I previously used this company when they were called Elite Comfort and gave…read morethem a great review. However, that's not the case with this new company, Air Tech. While the technician was professional, the estimate they gave was outrageous. The technician said I needed a new evaporator coil. If you look online, you'd be hard-pressed to find one for more than $1,000. He mentioned it would take two technicians and six hours to complete the job. Even if we assume the technicians charge $100 per hour (which is a stretch), that brings the labor cost to $1,200, and the total so far to $2,200. Let's add a 50% markup for the company, which brings the total to $3,300. That's still high, but they quoted me $4,980! Obviously, I shopped around and found a much more reasonable estimate--nearly 50% less from a reputable company. The bad business practice here is charging nearly $100 for the diagnostic, knowing the estimate was outrageous. You could literally build a business around giving inflated estimates with the sole intention of collecting diagnostic fees.

A human sized hole in my attic, the crew cut down to 1 guy, "finished" at midnight, but the system is still unbalanced and the job is still not finished. I DO NOT BLAME THE INSTALLERS. It was a really young crew which i loved to see because we desperately need people in trades. They all were well versed in everything they were doing, knowledgeable, and had a hell of a lot of hustle. Accidents happen, and I get it. I blame the company, its safety protocols, and the complete lack of response to my continued requests of a quality check (which i'm now getting after a week and the system is unbalanced b/c no dampers were installed)and a phone call from someone in mgmt to discuss my concerns...But also, I think Alpine Investments (private equity) is now the owner of Apex Solutions, which i believe jointly owns Air Tech with an individual in houston. So the inability to email anyone (info@elitecomfortservices.com as stated as their email to reach them at DOES NOT EXIST), reach a manager, speak to someone other than a service tech/scheduler...all by design. After this all happened, i recieved an invoice the following morning. YOUR OWNERS FROM OUTSIDE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS.

My husband called on Thursday, May 8th, and scheduled an appointment with Aisha. He informed her that the appointment was for our business--the same place they had done work before--and that they would need a 15-24 ft ladder to access the AC unit. The appointment was scheduled for Friday, May 9th. On Friday, I received a text stating that the technician was heading to my house. I called to confirm that they were going to the business and not my house, and Aisha answered. I verified the address and confirmed that she was aware a ladder was needed. However, she then stated that she was not made aware of this and that a $150 charge would be added for the safety of her technician, which I firmly believe is untrue! My husband was with me at the time, got on the phone, and reiterated that he had informed her. Aisha insisted that it was a $150 charge for the safety of her technician. I pointed out that we had work done at the same location in February of this year and were never advised of or charged an extra $150 for having a ladder brought to the location. She stated they should have charged me. To me, this seems ridiculous; you need tools to perform your job, so why charge extra? It felt like she muted me because there was silence for a good minute. Then she repeated her statement about the safety of her technician. I asked to speak to Melissa, as I had dealt with her during the previous job, but Aisha said, "No, I'm the GM, and the fee stays." I canceled my service due to this business taking advantage of local businesses and imposing hidden fees. I hope the owner, Gian Carlo, sees this review and recognizes what is being done to customers.

My condenser unit was on a small balcony on my 4th floor and the evaporator coil/air blower unit, Furnice were in the attic above the 4th floor. Jose was able to line up a crane and replace the old unit and install a new unit the same day as the qoute. The entire team was very professional and completed the work on time. My install was a week ago and everything has been working perfectly. My new unit is so quiet and I am noticing less humidity in the house as well. The tech from another company who installed it, should have brazed all 4 refrigerant lines to ensure that there wouldn't be any leaks or suggested I do so. The other company had a one month work warranty which I was informed is a red flag but honestly didn't want to get anymore work done by them after this tedious job and getting U0 error code after exactly 1 month. He showed me which units were leaking, but I decided to get all four units done to avoid issues in the future with the others. The diagnosis fee was waived due to getting the work done by the company. The price was affordable and on point. I can't say how grateful I am to them, because all of my saved up funds going towards the initial install with the other company.
