We went to Pontresina not only to visit the cute town, but to have some fondue at Gondolezza. It wasn't lunch or dinner time. More like snack time between touring. We weren't looking for a full on meal either. Luckily, we arrived at a good time and were able to sit at a nice table outside. Our server was fantastic, even though he was extremely busy... and appeared to be alone. We ordered a pot of beer fondue with bread AND potatoes. Because we're fatties and frankly did not realize how much we would get. The fondue was delicious! We were scraping the pot to get every last bit at the end. The potatoes were so good as well, even on their own. We were so stuffed that we had left over of each, bread & potatoes. Suffice to say that we left happy. Unbelievable. Our group of five had a KILO (that's over 2 lbs for you Americans) of cheese fondue. Great service and bonus to have a drink outside by the fire pit before your meal. The space is small so make sure to reserve ahead. The beer fondue was a close second to the classic - a must try. read more

Gondolezza - Fondue Near Me - Pontresina, GR

My family went to Gondolezza last week and had a wonderful time. Firstly, the service was out of this world, our waitress was funny, bubbly, and had us in stitches the whole time. The owner also stopped by the table to say hello while we were there as well (we ate inside but there was quite a bit of seating outside as well). While it was a beautiful night, I recommend sitting inside to get the whole experience: it's pretty unique eating in a restaurant made out of an old Gondola. I'd also add that the food was spectacular. Since we're a big family (4 teenage children), we just went ahead and ordered all 4 fondue cheeses, and both racklettes. ALL of them were great, I was unable to decide if just the plain fondue was my favorite, or whether the black truffle one was. Note that it is a fondue restaurant, so you'll probably need to leave your diet behind for a night; but it's well worth it. I can't say enough good things about our experience there. read more

We had such a wonderful experience here. The servers were helpful and explained everything to us since we weren't sure what all the menu items were. They also have a great selection of local beers and Swiss wine which we enjoyed. When it was raining as we left they insisted on giving us an umbrella, which was so very kind of them.
