Wow, just wow. I meandered spontaneously into this gem of a place as a solo traveler. Our tour guide had recommended 2 other places, but I know from experience that their suggestions are typically limited to pre-negotiated arrangements with the owners and/or locations that can accommodate larger groups. As a policy, I always look for my own spots.
I found this pasta place based on its high ratings, grateful it was open out of season. It is small, so it cannot accommodate very large groups, but it is an exquisitely charming spot. The atmosphere is outstanding: Swiss vibes all the way and killer music (think We're Together by Jack Johnson and Downtown by Petula Clark).
In the spirit of any place who wants to master its food, they do not have 1 million options on the menu. I got the Bruschetta (their house specialty) as an appetizer, and their Fresh Pasta (Meat) option of the day which came with a sage pesto sauce and crisp bacon. My photos do not capture the depth and comfort dimensions of the flavors, but I tried! Pasta is meant to be warm and cozy and filling, and this delivered. Balanced by the delicate flavors of sage, extra-virgin olive oil, and freshly grated cheese.
I rarely finish my meals and asked for the rest to go, which did not seem to bother them one bit. The service was excellent. (Even the bathroom was cute, could not help but take a picture there)
