Easily the best wine and charcuterie restaurant in all of Bellagio. Set in a 300 yr old cellar originally used to store snow for keeping food preserved but now is a perfect wine cellar with great ambiance. Best to make a reservation hours or 1 day in advance to get the better table in the back room surrounded by wine racks. Matteo was amazing with expert knowledge in all available wines and very fun demeanor and very attentive service. We ended up purchasing many bottles of wine (that we had tasted through their numerous wine tasting menu) and had them shipped back to the States right on site. If you like wine paired with amazing meats and cheeses, this is undoubtedly the place to go. Also recommended by all the locals we interacted with. Enjoy!! read more

Took my wife and son here after seeing great reviews here and elsewhere. It is located a bit out of the way of the bustling steep alleys and in a 200 year old stone cavern where locals used to store snow in the winter abd use as a fridge in the summer. The tasting menu was delicious with beef, pasta and cheese dishes and the sommelier was amazing. The owner was very friendly - he said he's been running the restaurant for 20 years so he doesn't need marketing - word of mouth does it for him. I would say so! read more

My wife, son and I had a wonderful time. The staff were warm, welcoming and educational. The three of us enjoyed a couple of wine tastings plus a couple of glasses of some special Amarone. One of the owners also has a butcher shop where they make their own bresaola and "roast beef", which they generously served us. It was amazing, particularly the bresaola which was marinated in wine and dry aged as part of the curing process. We loved how they sequenced the wine for us and educated us on the subtleties between our tastings. We felt like special guests. We originally thought our visit would serve as a quick pit stop before dinner, but we ended up staying there for two hours as we enjoyed, the wine, food and company of our sommelier! read more

Talk about an adventure with the best reward when we finally found this place. We were staying in Varenna during our honeymoon and decided to catch the ferry to check out Bellagio. I had found this place on Yelp and I knew I wanted to check it out. Once we got off the ferry I pulled up the directions on Yelp and we began our trek. We walked and walked and walked when the Yelp directions on my phone led us down a residential road and said we had arrived. This can't be right but at this point my husband and I were determined to find this place as we had worked up an appetite. I pulled up the website copied done the address and plugged in into Apple maps. We walked and walked and found ourselves in a cool alley, walking back towards the center of Bellagio where we had caught the ferry. Then low and behold there it was, we had finally actually arrived! Yes, we have walked in probably what was a good 1.5-2 mile circle. This place was perfect on a hot day because you are entering what looks exactly like a cave or wine cellar with a few tables set up. We each ordered a glass of wine and decided to spilt a charcuterie board. The board was a delicious assortment of meat and cheese, yet the best part was the local honey that was served on the side. I was shocked how well it complemented the meat and cheese assortment. If you are in the area this place is not to be missed! I hope we can come back again. I would just recommend pulling this address up in a map other than the one linked through Yelp unless you feel like you need to really earn that wine with a 2 mile trek. read more

absolutely cannot recommend this place enough. phenomenal food, incredible wait staff, extensive wine list, open late, and so accommodating. we came to como with no clue about nearly all businesses shutting down for the season so we got really screwed for dinner and came into bellagio hoping to find anything open and went to a restaurant who told us they were closed, as were all the restaurants in the area, but that there was this little wine bar that serves cold cuts and cheeses and possibly some dishes that is open until midnight and that we should try that, so we did and it was the best meal and experience we have had thus far on our journey through italy. and it was so cheap! we ordered 2 glasses of chardonnay, the roast beef carpaccio appetizer, the meats and cheeses board with honey for 2, and the ricotta ravioli and it came out to only €82, and for quite literally the best wine i have ever tasted and some of the best food. please give this place a visit if you're ever in the area!!!!! read more

When you are in Bellagio you probably will want to drink some wine. This is a very cool place, to have a flight of wine. I am sure the food is good as well, but we did not order any, besides some cheese, which was excellent. We enjoyed the wine. Each pour came with an explanation of where the wine was made and a little about that region. The setting was very relaxing, while drinking wine. I am glad we found it, since we were only, in Bellagio, for a day. read more

We went with C and stumbled upon one of the most beautiful hidden gems in Italy. This wine bar was a dream in the middle of Bellagio, which is one of the most picturesque towns you can visit in northern Italy. We were randomly wandering around the streets wondering if we should start making or way back to the ferry when we saw Casa Turacciolo Enoteca. At first glance inside, we knew we were catching the later ferry. We decided to do the wine tasting and a fromaggio and salumi plate. Beware the "wine tasting" is more like half glasses of wine rather than small little pours. And we were allowed to revisit our favorites! Ah this was the best wine bar ever. What a fantastic way to spend almost three hours. We arrived at open and almost ordered a tasting from the menu; instead, sensing our confusion, the owner/sommelier asked what we liked and made gentle suggestions which were perfect as we had a Brut Sparkling start, dry white with Lake Fish (which I enjoyed more than expected), and some of the best red with Lardo and Parmesan! I discovered my favorite champagne OF ALL TIME here (Sorry Andre, champagne of my youth, you've been unseated) - the charming Bellavista. Start with a wine flight tasting menu, they have a number of different flight options - locals, whites, Italian reds - and you get a wonderful full pour. Don't plan on driving afterwards. Just in case you don't want to find yourself under the table halfway through, plan on ordering the cheese and salumi plate. It is something I will dream about long after the rest of my trip is a vague memory. The service is delightfully slow-paced, the servers are wonderfull knowledgeable. So, find your own little slice of heaven in a dank Italian cave and plan on enjoying yourself - you won't have much of a choice. read more

Bellagio is about as picture perfect as Italian towns come, so it speaks volumes that this place is located in a dark cave but almost always packed. We walked in here on a recent Sunday around 1 and snagged the last four-top in the corner. There were hundreds of bottles of wines all slotted into the wine racks along the walls, and a nice selection of wine tastings to choose from. The food menu is limited, but what we did have (meat platter and buckwheat pasta) was delicious. I'm knocking off one star for the service however - we mentioned that we needed to be gone by a certain time to catch a ferry, and asked them to speed up the wine tasting several times. Service is generally more relaxed and slow to match the pace of Italians, but in this case we were unable to finish the wine tasting (it was only 3 wines total) and had to leave after only 2. No discount was offered which was slightly disappointing since we asked them for the third glass about 5-10 minutes before we actually left too. Nonetheless if you've got a lot of time to kill and want to discover some Italian wines, this is the place for you! Added bonus is that they will ship bottles to you (6 bottle minimum + shipping fee), in the event you fall in love with one of their wines. read more

This is a great little place for a glass/bottle/wine tasting at any time of the day or evening. The wine list is dizzying; even the offerings by the glass are extensive. Three-wine tastings in eight or ten combinations are on the lists. The menu offers a combination of cold or warm dishes to go with the wines, but it isn't a place for lunch or dinner, really. It's a place you might start an evening before you go to dinner or stop for a visit with friends. It's a small, stone grotto-like café set into a hillside on a stone stairway just off the main tourist arcade, yet the ambience is cozy and friendly. A combination of locals and tourists, couples and families, Italians, Americans, French...you get the idea. Extremely knowledgeable, multi-lingual staff who welcome you as soon as you walk in the door. And the prices are reasonable: by-the-glass prices start at €4, wine tastings at about €17, plates at around €10. We really liked this place. This place was the highlight of a weekend in Bellagio filled with highlights!! We discovered this place while strolling down a side street (and only later discovered that it was very highly rated on both Yelp and TripAdvisor.com). We enjoyed some ravioli with spinach and ricotta as well as some prosciutto. But the reason we loved this place was the wine. We splurged and ordered one tasting of four truly exceptional wines (including an Amarone) for $45. Definitely worth it. Our waitress was very enthusiastic about the wines and told us everything we needed to know about them. Each was unique. I hope we'll have a chance to return. read more
