In the Stone House wine cellar.
    Lisa W.

If I could give the Stone House more than a five star review, I would! We had to hunt a bit to find this place and we had thought it was just for wine tasting. We found it right around dinner time and realized it was a restaurant with an entire wine cellar. Fortunately, we were able to get a table due to the high season being over. E writhing was marvelous! We got a delicious bottle of valpolicella, a tuna steak and butter weed spinach for me and lobster and pasta for my husband. We were wowed! My tuna steak was a generous portion and cooked to perfection! The spinach also cooked just right with a great bitterly flavor. My husband was so happy with the lobster and pasta - not a morsel left. We finished off with a fabulous tiramisu. The owner took us in to view the wine cellar and we picked out another bottle of valpolicella to take back to the VRBO. What an incredible gem! We were so pleasantly surprised and FULL.

    Stone house.

We showed up with No reservation. The Resturant was in a rustic Italian house/Garden. The owner greeted us with a big smile. He said we need a reservation as they are full. We smiled bigger and he knew we were not taking no for an answer. The menu was robust. Service was fantastic. We ordered aged ham with deep fried cheese filled figs. Out of This world. Linguine with Lobster was creamy and done to perfection. Second course was Bronzino and Pizza. Delicious. And finally desert. Pistachio/caramelized almond with Ice cream. I am A foodie. Best meal so far in Italy. If in lake Como hit this place up.

    Mixed grilled seafood

We visited for lunch, and had pizza, salad and the combination grilled seafood. Everything was delicious! There are no views but it very close to the lake boardwalk.

    Pasta with scallops and shrimp

Such a cute local place! Little hidden gem. got pasta with seafood and pizza and it was perfect. Staff was very friendly. View of the lake is beautiful.

It is a mom & son owned restaurant with warm and welcoming service. While the menu is not too expansive, what they do have to offer makes up for it in quality, taste, and freshness. It's a small operation that does it right. I had the most incredible bruschetta of my life. A white buffalo style creamy cheese layered on toasted bread with fresh, red full flavored tomatoes. This is not the traditional version but order it. Their wild boar pasta was excellent along with the cacio and pepe pasta. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The service was good, kind owner, cutest location and small menu is delicious. How this is flying under the radar I'm shocked. We ate at some of the highly touted restaurants and were underwhelmed by other reviewers recommendations. I loved, loved this small, precious and special little gem.

The particular alley it was on was not as bustling as the others and the outdoor tables looked inviting as we passed by. We ended up dining inside, where we could be seated immediately. The decor was impressive and fun. We went with a local buckwheat noodle dish (pizzoccheri), which had a very unique and earthy flavor. Recommended to grind fresh pepper on it before enjoying. Worth trying if you're adventurous and want to familiarize yourself with the cuisine of the Valtellina valley. We also had a more classic red sauce pasta (lasagne al ragù di carne). Very thin, light, and elegant noodles in both dishes. An excellent portion size for lunch. Service was attentive and outstanding. The beef tartare was off putting and gave me an impression of what dog food would be like. The special zucchini flower was way too watery and overpriced for what it was. The flambé was just over powered by the mustard flavors and was cooked unevenly. For the price point you'd think it would be more refined. The saving grace for this review and only reason I gave it a 2 stars was that service was not bad and the sautéed mushrooms. We should have gotten that as a risotto or pasta. We could have eaten that all night. Overall for the price point of this place we do not recommend unless you're trying your hand at influencer life who have no taste buds.

The room - luxurious room, very homey, loved the bathroom especially the shower 3. The owner - saved our trip by ordering a last minute taxi and helping us retrieve a forgotten phone, very accommodating, ensured we were satisfied with everything 4. The food - the food was good! (not great) but good Negatives: 1. Room was aired out and filled with bugs, I mean spiders like 10-15 spiders (some were daddy long legs which don't bother me but we had 2 fat huge brown spiders that were above our bed that we had to kill before sleeping to rest easy) 2. Expensive - we got charged 34 euros for 4 zucchini flowers that were off the menu felt very taken advantage of 3. On the hill - there is no transportation to get to and from you literally have to hike which is very very difficult uphill

Our room was extremely well constructed and very clean. The view amazing and the breakfast buffet at Albergo was always fresh and we'll stocked even during peak times, never had to wait for a desirable table either. Nice bar off lobby and large restaurant on site. Also walking distance from ferry on Lake Como, fine dining, casual restaurants and gelato. When we stepped off the boat, there was a grassy area where the staff had hors d'oeuvres set up at a long table with a white tablecloth. There were cute little white wicker furniture sets with tables so the guests could mingle, take pictures, sip Prosecco and look out at the lake. When it was time for dinner, we moved from the grassy area to our tables, which were positioned perpendicular to the lake so everyone had a great view. The dinner was in the marquee - a permanent outdoor area with tile flooring covered by a big white tent. We had the garden half of the marquee to ourselves, so our seating area was adjacent to the grassy garden area where the hors d'oeuvres were served. The sides of the marquee were able to be closed independently so that as the sun was setting, strategic flaps were folded down to prevent the sun from annoying people as they ate while still letting a breeze into the marquee. The champagne was poured just before we were seated, and we had enough of it for everyone's toasts. After the champagne, there was red and white wine for the table. The antipasti we chose was the smoked salmon. It was a huge dish of thinly sliced salmon perfectly smoked and beautifully presented. The primi piatti we selected was a pasta with prawns. The pasta was cooked al dente and the prawns were very light and fresh. The secondi piatti was the beef limousine and vegetables. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare with a pink center and was very tender and juicy. Nothing about our wedding was conventional and we stayed true to that with dessert. Instead of a wedding cake, we selected a special dessert. With a wedding party of 32, there will always be a dish that someone doesn't care for because maybe they don't eat fish or they don't eat meat. But EVERYONE LOVED the chocolate fondue. They brought huge dishes of fruit with skewers and bowls of melted dark chocolate. The staff also brought out espresso. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. We had the area under the tent (the marquee) for as long as we wanted. But after dinner and drinks and long day, some people began to go back to the hotel. We stayed at the Albergo Lenno, which was less than a mile around the lake. It is a beautiful walk and very doable, especially since there are gelateria's along the way. But we also rented a bus for those in need of assistance for one reason or another. Inside the bar area was a dance floor and a local DJ (that we did not have to pay for) who played a great selection of popular songs that you would hear off the radio at home. We danced into the night with the locals and had a blast. They closed around 2am. It is also worth noting that on the other side of the dance floor is a large opening to a beach area. This was a large area with sand and lounge chairs. The kids loved playing in the sand in their wedding clothes .
