The prices on 20-ounce and two-liter sodas wasn't very good, either, though they do have deals on individual 12-ounce cans of soda, and it's cheaper than buying individual cans from a vending machine. However, the store is in a cute little strip mall that contains other cool local businesses, including Foods of India, an oriental market, a pottery studio, and the Broadway Cafe. The store also had one-liter bottles of grapefruit flavored Faygo fizzy water, which I have trouble finding in stock even in big local grocery stores. So, for that reason alone, they get three stars from me-- not a bad choice for a quick beer or munchy run if you're in the area.

I'd be willing to pay a little extra for convenience if the service was friendly, but paying more to be treated like an inconvenience makes no sense. There's a particular guy here who has held 6 packs of new limited edition Short's beers for my fella because he knows he likes to try them. You can always get a parking spot right next to the door, they don't move everything around every 6 months like the big box stores, and it's the same few cashiers all the time. I always bring my pop bottles here to return too, since there's never anyone else at the machines. I took off a star because their prices are quite a bit higher than the big box stores, and you definitely do need to check the expiration dates before buying anything, but the convenience absolutely makes up for it and I'm almost tempted to give them the full five stars for the small town experience that is Polly's.
