We ended up on the Callaway Apex AI300's with KBS Tour Lite Stiff shafts and my dispersion came to about 15 feet left and right of center with about 15 yards further than I was hitting my previous irons. From the first time I went to buy shoes to the third time I went to try irons, competitive price and everyone there was GREAT to work with! Shawn is easygoing and his knowledge of clubs, brands, and golf mechanics was especially helpful since I'm an amateur weekend golfer. Moon Golf used a track system which demonstrated the difference between my current clubs and the other brands I was considering. After choosing a brand, I was still unsure about the driver but he encouraged me to take the demo driver out for a round of golf. I appreciate that Shawn wanted to ensure I was comfortable with my purchase. And it's not just clubs, he also demonstrated the difference between golf balls and identified one that would work best for my swing. My clubs arrived in record time and I am enjoying playing the game once again. Finally, there is also a club repair shop, The Garage, on the premises that can handle anything clubs-related. Had a completely disappointing experience recently which involved the owner of "Your Golf Shop", a…read moregentleman named Jeff Webster.. my son was just in town, and while golfing we noticed that his driver head was cracked, so after the round I called "Mike" at the Port Charlotte location, as he's been my guy for years there, and personally fitted my son for his Mizuno 243's, and me for my Callaway ai Smoke HL irons (4-SW).. and Mike told me that they couldn't do anything, as it was well outside of warranty, but suggested that I contact PING personally, as in his words, "sometimes they will work with you", so I did.. and after speaking with PING's customer service people, THEY made the decision to replace my sons G410 Plus, with a brand new driver free of charge.. I never asked for anything free, and simply wanted either repair options through them, or fair trade in value towards a new one.. I was in fact blown away by what they chose to do, as was my son.. Well apparently PING's decision to replace the club outside of the warranty period didn't sit well with the owner of "Your Golf Shop", as when I called him for a tracking number for my sons driver to reference with PING, who claimed to have not received it yet, he unloaded on me with all of his opinions related to this case.. I'd add that none of his opinions were informed, or asked for in this particular instance to be quite honest, as his only role in this as an authorized PING retailer was to initiate the club swap by shipping it back, and opening the repair case with PING, which direct consumers apparently cannot do, so they directed me to go to the golf shop.. but those facts didn't stop Jeff from weighing in with his own baseless version of what he obviously convinced himself had happened, and telling me essentially all about myself, as in his mind I was "gaming the system", and unworthy of such a gesture from PING.. He even accused my son and I of altering the club, claiming that the shaft in it didn't belong to that particular model, which again is nowhere near true, and another of Jeff Webster's many fictions, as my son was fitted for it by PING at a demo day in New Jersey at my home golf club, Battleground CC.. his club definitely didn't have a stock shaft, as he requires x-stiff, and the PING club fitter shafted it for him that day.. so not only did Jeff think we were somehow scamming PING out of a new driver, who once again made the decision to replace this driver themselves after I asked for repair options, or fair trade in value, but he also basically called us liars with regards to how the club is currently equipped, versus how Jeff believes it to have been originally equipped.. but in his mind.. I plan to speak with PING today to let them know what the FedEx tracking number is on what Jeff sent to PING, albeit quite begrudgingly, and will also see if they can ship the new club directly to me rather than to his golf shop, as this once loyal customer hopes to never have to set foot in either of Jeff's shops again, which is a shame, because his guy Mike in the Port Charlotte store is the guy you want to see if you're in the area and in need of clubs.. Absolutely ridiculous behavior for anyone in business, least of all an owner, specifically for a transaction where he stood to lose absolutely nothing until he continued to run his mouth and eventually lost a customer.. and a paying one at that, as he was able to quickly quote exactly what I had spent in his shop, so this guy is clearly reckless, as he knows that I spend money, but he couldn't care less when his feelings are involved.. In my most recent conversation with him he actually play acted using a crying voice, insinuating that I called PING and cried, but believe me, he came to the first call I made to his shop looking for tracking information loaded for bear, so clearly this had been eating at Jeff for well over a week.. I am so excited to get my new custom-made clubs this week! The fitting session was so good that I set my husband up for a session with Glenn, too! I bought him a full set of Taylormade R-11s last year and now I want to know if they were the right choice or if they need to be tweaked a little. Glenn was very encouraging while reviewing my set up, swing, and follow through. Through the use of several devices, Glenn suggested the proper lie, loft, length, and firmness my swing requires. It was the first time someone wasn't telling me to adapt my swing to the equipment but rather to keep my natural swing and change out a few clubs. Glenn was very fair and he never pushed me to buy a whole new set of clubs. In fact, there were plenty of items in his shop that were more expensive than what he suggested I use. That proved to me that he had my best interest in mind and not merely his profit margin. Now that you have my specs is on file, Glenn, you have me as a lifetime customer! About 6 or 8 weeks ago, I purchased a plastic golf ball shag tube for $20. I asked a clerk if the…read moremechanism for keeping the golf balls was sufficiently sturdy, whcih he assured me it was. Last week the mechanism broke off and I went back to the store. I had the tube, showed it to 2 employees. One said he couldn't help me as I had paid cash and there was no record of the purchase. The 2nd asked me what I had thought by using a tube for plastic golf balls for real golf balls. He even brought me a kid's tube, loaded with plastic ball--and which was clearly not the same produce at what I purchased--and told me they would not give me a store credit. Apparently, they don't sell the tube I purchased any more. The treatment I received is unacceptable and over a $20 store credit not only has Golf Galaxy lost me as a regular customer, but I will tell people who ask me about Golf Galaxy to go somewhere else. Short-sighted employees do more harm to a business that shows up on a balance sheet. Bye Bye, Golf Galaxy.
