BanBury, a public course in Eagle thoughtfully designed by John Harbottle III, has consistently ranked among Idaho's top 10 public courses by Golf Digest for nearly two decades. The course flows gently along the South Channel of the Boise River and offers both challenge and charm. It was the first in our area to host a USGA championship, the U.S. Junior Girls. They are also adding a new simulator building next to Harvey's, their on-site restaurant. The space will feature three TrackMan simulators, full club-fitting services, and direct access to the bar, which sounds perfect for practice or a post-round hangout. My favorite part is sharing this place with friends. The golf course is pristine and welcoming. The staff is phenomenal, especially their PGA pro Drew, who gave me two lessons and runs fantastic group clinics. I always leave feeling more confident on the green. The restaurant side is just as amazing. The team, especially Law, knows our order so well that last visit he brought us our Arnold Palmers before we even asked. We always round out our day with lunch. Chicken tacos, Caesar salad, Reubens, burgers -- the food never disappoints. For evening golf or dinner, their prime rib and salmon are standout dishes. BanBury offers a flawless blend of great golf, excellent instruction, warm hospitality, and delicious food. I highly recommend it whether you are there to play, to eat, or just to spend time with friends.

Played Banbury this weekend on a visit to town. One of the premier courses in Boise for decades,…read morethe decline of this course has been rapid since the departure of the original management team and greens keeper. Once the best public course within hundreds of miles, is now a shell of itself. What used to be a destination for me any time I was around, has become a once a year stop at the most. It's upsetting, especially considering how high the demand is in Boise for an elite public golf course. This weekends round was made especially miserable because of two factors the course absolutely had control over. The first being that myself (single digit handicap) and my partner (mid-handicap) were paired with two young men in their 20's, one of which had never played before. Needless to say, he was miserable, as were we. I had to buy drinks for the group behind us to apologize. Most egregious however, was that the course decided to let a group of FIVE people out in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, to film some Tik-Tok Golf Influencer "content". Our front nine, playing behind these folks took over 2 hours and 45 minutes, but then after the turn Hole 10 took 31 minutes BY ITSELF! By hole 14 we had decided to go ahead of them, and then were verbally accosted by the group as if wed done something inappropriate. And all of this cost me well over $100. The course conditions were mediocre and torn up, and it was crowded and slow even without the influencers. Highlights included awesome service from the folks in the restaurant and bar, and the young lady driving the beverage cart. All of which were affable, friendly, and made sure to take great care of us. Also the gentlemen in the Pro Shop were very professional, and understood my frustrations when I went to speak with them post round. I won't be back to Banbury this year. Might not be back again unless there's major changes to the operations and standards at Banbury Golf Club. Here's hoping that happens, because it sucks to see a world class golf course end up like that.

Hellooooo! So my bike was recently stolen and from my front…read moreyard! It was horrible and one reason, other than it getting stolen, was this sorta shit just doesn't happen in my neighborhood. They stole it, the tire blew just around the corner and then the guy ditched it in an alley. I was beyond lucky to get it back. Guy across the street found it and his "friend" was like "it's so weird that the lock and key are right there! The tire was in bad shape" I said to myself....AAAAND there's the guy who stole it! Kept my comments to myself, but other things he said, just added up to him being the thief. I did say..."the lock and key being there shouldn't matter because THE BIKE WAS ON MY PROPERTY WHEN SOMEONNNE STOLE IT!" Fn creep. Anyway, it took my a minute to go and get the tire fixed. I finally did and took it to the Eagle Bike Shop abd glad I did. Was my first time there and I'll definitely go back. Not only is it literally like 3 mins from my house, the staff was excellent. Cody fixed my tire and was super fast in doing so. Love when that happens. He was awesome. The whole staff was super friendly, they know their shit, they tell you straight up what's wrong, what it will cost and don't try to rob you like other places do. I thought it was going to be expensive, but wasn't at all. Again, love when that happens! I think we all do lol. Last bike shop I took it to, where I bought the bike, the cost would be double because I've had it serviced there before in the past and their prices go up..often. I know other things that might come about will be pricey no matter where you go, and that's life, bikes can be pricey to take care of lol, but this bike shop and the vibe is a great one. It's kinda like finding a mechanic who works on your car for the exact problem and doesn't magically find other issues just to make more $$ on shit that doesn't need replacing. Eagle Bike Shop reminds me of a great mechanic who is great to their customers and does work on what needs to be done and that's it. Grateful to these guys for fixing my bike and now that weather is insanely beautiful, I can finally ride again. I do nnnnnot do summer bike rides lol. Too damn hot. I'm not one made for Summer weather. Autumn and Winter are the best! Ok! Guess that's it! Thanks Cody for doing a great job and being super efficient. Thanks to the shop for just being an all around great spot. I know where I'll always go from here on out. If you haven't been and use a bike frequently, I highly recommend this place. It's the INSANELY bright green building on State St on your way into Eagle. You can't miss it. The color is brilliant IMO. Thanks for reading, Yelpiereies! Cheers!!

The first time thought maybe the guy was having a bad day. He basically said no to helping me with a battery replacement. Brought my wife's e-bike in about a month later and service was no better. Unfriendly and first thing he says it's $75 charge for us to even look at and assess the bike. I was there to fix a flat tire. Good grief. Anyway I walked out and went to Merdian Bikes on Main Street in Merdian and was serviced friendly and professionally the same day.

My first time in Boise, visiting a lifelong friend, we hired Mike Raymondi to be our guide on the…read moreOwyhee River for a day of catch and release trout fishing. The three of us, retired women with modest fishing experience and a love for nature, instantly felt at ease as he selected the waders, boots and gear in the well-organized TRR store in Eagle ( when you go there, look up, you'll have a fish's point of view- watery blown glass ornaments suspended from the ceiling). We followed Mike's truck to the river where he selected a sweet spot clear of snags and sunken hazards. The birds and awe-inspiring panoramic beauty made focusing on the orange indicator a bit of a challenge. Mike gave us a quick and articulate tutorial on casting, mending and setting the lines, then he spaced us out on the length of the river where he grew several sets of eyes, simultaneously guiding our line work and alerting us to the bobber's behavior, which you see before you feel anything. I missed several nibbles because I saw a tanager or a flicker, but we all hooked and I landed a big brown trout with lovely speckles and no wounds from the brief fight we had in reeling it in. The big takeaway about a good or bad day fishing, according to Mike, is this: hooking and landing combine a multitude of very different skills, and many people who say the fishing was bad, missed the nibble or the set, and failed to catch what fish were there. To me, there is no bad day of fishing if you are in the care of a competent guide, supplied with proper gear, a spectacular picnic lunch (kudos to Tasso in Eagle) and in an exceptionally beautiful piece of God's country, which was the case for us. Now for those of you who believe the only value in fishing is catch, catch, catch, this review will mean nothing. Mike mustered all of his powers to switch out the types of nymph flies (we were nymphing this time), and we had a spare afternoon, but you can't make fish eat when they don't wish to. Nonetheless, we felt satisfied, happy and properly looked after by TRR's professional guide service.

They were great with a beginner like myself, who has gone fly fishing only one other time with them, all the way to my son who has fly fished several times. They gave my daughter & I, a quick, but detailed lesson before fishing. We both caught more fish than we could count. They were great with my husband & son too who caught nonstop fish. They know the River extremely well & the fishing spots, even better. They were fun, patient, knowledgeable, & funny. They provided the gear; & fitted us prior to going out on the water. The lunch was wonderful & we had a choice of bakery sandwiches, with pasta salad, cookies, & chips. This was a great experience & we plan to make it an annual trip.
