A really fun 18 hole miniature golf course right in the heart of Avalon. It's the only miniature golf course in town, but even if there were others, this one would still be worth visiting. It's laid out pretty well, is all outdoors but has a lot of tree cover and is fairly close to the ocean which is certainly not common for the usual mini courses. It's $15 for adults and the staff member at the window was very polite. We were playing as two adults who were just looking for a way to kill time during our three day visit to Catalina and honestly had a great time. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the island and I would play again in the future because the course was pretty well maintained aside from some debris around. Give it a try!

Fun and pretty mini golf course, great addition to your Catalina Island activities! Came here on our last day as we had some time to kill, and I'm so happy we did! The course was fun with some unique and challenging holes, as well as some typical ones you see at other mini golf courses. It's an 18 hole course, though two of them were closed for maintenance when we played. Each course had a sign at the start that showed a map of the course and some even included a note of where the best place to aim for was. The gardens were pretty and many of the holes were shaded.

One of the best mini golf courses that I've been to. It's well maintained and the courses are well thought out and reasonably hard. Definitely a cool spot to checkout in Avalon if you have nothing to do. It is $15 per person and comes with 18 holes total. I spent about an hour and 15 minutes going pretty slow. Also wasn't that crowded so didn't feel rushed. Worth checking out!

Golf Gardens was located directly across from our Hotel Atwater - altho all of Avalon actives are walkable and close together. I had read Mini Golf was a great must do with kids so we stopped in yesterday and the course did not disappoint. 18 holes. Incredible landscaping and such well maintained structures. The course was super fun for all of us (adult, 13 yr old, 11 yr old and 8yr old) The paths were not wheel chair friendly - however, we were able to move my mom from bench to bench btwn each hole. They were nicely shaded and convenient for her to sit and watch as she did not golf but still wanted to watch her grandchildren. I would highly recommend this activity to all ages. Overall course time took us about 1hr 15 mins... it wasn't busy and we were able to take our time and truly enjoy the visit. Yazmin was working the front desk when we checked in.. she was so incredibly kind to us all. Thank you for being wonderful! We would absolutely revisit Golf Gardens again if we find ourselves on Catalina in the future.

Pretty course with native plants

Just being outside and playing some mini golf in the cool sea air is wonderful! The garden is no joke, so many pretty succulents and California native plants. Play 18 holes and just enjoy the pretty scenery. We didn't wait for holes as they designed it pretty well. They put enough challenging and fun layouts to keep it varied. No food or drinks, just mini golf. Adults are $15 and kids/seniors are $12 I believe. If you have some time to kill, come and play a round. The cost is not much compared to the other activities in the area. Just bring a roadie and you are set!

Mini golf is a great and affordable option for couples and families. For the two of us. It took about 45 minutes to get through 18 holes. Each hole was thoughtfully designed and fun to play. The front desk will provide you with your putter and let you choose a colored ball of your choice. We had a lot of fun playing in the middle of the day.

September 27, 2024 | Catalina Island / Avalon: We had so much fun playing mini golf, which had 18 holes! The course was so pretty! There were vibrant & unique flowers along the way & we even crossed a couple of bridges! We ran into playful themes; an alligator, a well-dressed eagle & even took a stroll along the Walk of Fame! What made the mini golf experience even more exciting was the warm energy & friendly smile from Warren, who welcomed us to the course & got us set up! We left smiling & excited to return! Thanks again, Warren! You rock!

Coolest mini golf course. Pleasantly surprised. Very thoughtfully laid out. Beautifully landscaped. Wife and I had a lot of fun .

Staff: Very nice staff. The man at the payment window was very friendly. Got us set up and ready to play quickly. Towards the end someone had a small cut so I asked for a band aide and he was more than happy to provide one. Great service! Quality: I was very pleasantly surprised by the course. It was well thought out, challenging, and really fun. Unfortunately 3 of the holes were closed but still we had a great time. Value : Very affordable Overall: Truly amazing place that you have to try. Lots of shade and challenging holes to keep you entertained.

There is also a "Circuit" ride share that will take you around the island for $2 per person. Coming in by tender from a cruise ship is great. The docking area is in town and so close to everything. I exited the tender and walked along the waterfront where I passed a few children's playgrounds with a pirate theme. Then on to where the golf carts are rented. I walked to the pier (Green Pier) where there are bathrooms and many small shops all hoping for the tourist business. They carry the typical port souvenirs. After a long walk on this short pier I got to the end where there is many people fishing with poles and the little set ups they will sell you for a few dollars and the bait too. There are plenty of benches to sit and watch the boat come in and out of the harbour. There is a small beach area that has lots of pretty colored little rocks along the shoreline. The walk to the round Casino Building is pretty much the end of the road before a mountainside resort. I passed by some waterfront restaurants that were even crowded on a cloudy day. My walk back to the tender was quick and the ride back to the cruise ship was also pretty nice and calm.

We booked a tour once to see bisons but didn't get to see animals cause it was raining. The tours we went by ourselves were much better! We saw many wild animals including bisons! The interior vineyard is so beautiful. The trips were very enjoyable but a bit of too much sun for me. Wear sunscreen and a hat to prevent sun exposure! Keep in mind that it takes 20 years to be able to buy a real car on island. Only one golf cart is allowed per residence. There are no spaces for real cars and more golf carts in Avalon. Our family and friends live here so they have a real car to take us to interiors. Yes you will need a real car to do that! Avalon has enough restaurants and bars to hang out. Casino is also a movie theater to show older movies on certain weekend evenings. They offer tours of this historic casino too. They host NYE gala every year. Beach club is great for summer times. Museum is small but still worth taking a tour. Too bad the spa has closed down, we used to go there all the time. This island has so much to offer. It's the best place for a lot of fun just a ferry ride away!

We wanted the same experience and the same room. We got a Studio Suite room in the back of the hotel in the upper private area. The last time we stayed here, our room seemed bigger, and I was a bit disappointed about how small the room seemed compared to last time, but we ended up really enjoying our stay. The room was clean, although housekeeping did not clean our room the first time we asked the front desk. Before our third and final night, we went up to the front desk and told them we were extremely upset our room was not clean the day before when we had asked them to clean it so they promptly came up and cleaned our room. The linens were clean, white, and fresh and the robe was nice though short. The towels were comfy and clean and they gave us more towels when our room wasn't clean the second night we stayed after we asked them. The outside the patio was amazing. We had a gorgeous view of the city behind us and the ocean in front of us. We loved to sit outside in the comfy chairs and just soak up the view and drink coffee/tea that was provided for us with a Kuerig machine. We had plenty of free water bottles and ice and kept asking for more and more because we drink like fish and they gave it to us all for free. The room had a couch and a little table, but the table was too short for my husband to use his laptop. He said he would have liked a bigger table, but we made do with what we had. Also, there were no nightstands in the room and the closet space was very, very small, just a small wooden box in the room with only enough space to hang our jackets. There were no real drawers to place our clothes in so we left them in the luggage the entire time. The bathroom was made of beautiful Italian marble with a large bathtub that we filled to the top with warm water for our nightly bath soaks. The only thing we didn't like about the bathroom was that the toilet was right next to the wall, giving us little room to sit and do our business and the sink had no area around it to place our bathroom essentials except for a really, really small glass area above the sink to place our toothbrushes. We took really long naps while we were there with the air conditioner on full blast and really loved our bed. It was sooooo comfortable. Also, our room had a refrigerator where we placed food we bought from the market and left over food from the restaurant. We are definitely coming back again to the Bellanca hotel for a simlar Studio Suite room, hopefully next time, a bigger one light last time, but even though there were things we didn't like about this room, we may request the same room again because the view outside looking towards the ocean was amazing. Oh, and the hotel gave us two free drink vouchers worth $15 each for mixed drinks at the Naughty Fox which we used and enjoyed.

The place has been around quite some time and kids do tend to make a mess, but they keep up after it. Parking is for a fee, but sometimes you get a game card that comes with the parking. It can get crowded in the summer and on weekends. We go on week days and have been several times. Now, the prices in here add up fast so be mindful of that, but it is the same as other similar places. Miniature golf is about 16$, a go kart is about 12$, the arcade can really add up so get a card that you can use for the wide variety of games they have. The bumper boats and Disk Thrill Ride are about 12$ per person. We love their little train and that is about 5$. You can get a two hour wrist band and we do that and save a lot that way. All in all the prices are fair. The service there is nice and the place has a lot to offer, you don't have to do it all. There is a lot to do. They also have Birthday Parties there and that is great. It's always clean, there are many decent fast meal options, and it feels relaxing under the palm trees on springy days. Also, the bumper cars are lit up and Lazer Tag is calling all players. There's a cafeteria-style "common hall" serving up pizza, nachos, hot dogs, fries, and bevvies. Outside, the bumper boats are a refreshing way to cool down. You can see that the staff works hard at maintaining the grounds. There's always someone working on the many pools and water features when I go. Overall, the greens are in good shape. Sure, a ball may stick, but it's a game. Mulligans and astro turf hiccups are par for this course. Want to practice random kindness? If you see a bottle on the ground, feel free to recycle in the receptacle placed by the tee box. It's nice that they thought to have as many receptacles as they did. It really helps keep the place tidy. The staff is young & laid back yet attentive. One clean sweep across all 4 courses at the opening of each AM shift, however, could help keep it 100% litter-free. See, I warned you--I had nothing but good things to say about Camelot Golfland.
