4 stars for a well-priced golf store. My wife and I were out looking for golf clubs around Sand Lake Road one recent Saturday. We stopped in a couple other stores and, while I found what I wanted, we couldn't find much for her. Since we were already going to go to the nearby Whole Foods, we decided to stop by the nearby Golf Galaxy. We proceeded inside the store (FYI: these stores are owned by the Dick's Sporting Goods family of stores) and found a pretty standard golf store setup with clothes and other apparel on one side and clubs and other golf items on the other. We proceeded over to the clearance and used clubs area since we don't golf a ton and noticed a women's section. My wife then found a set of Top Flight clubs that included a bag for under $250. After finding the clubs, we grabbed a sales associate to ask questions and try out the clubs. What set this place apart was the honesty of the associate. We asked about the clubs and why this places pricing seemed different from other stores (cough cough PGA Superstore) and he replied that those stores were for more advanced golfers while Golf Galaxy was more geared towards beginner and intermediate golfers aka "average golfers." Some people might take offense to that, but I actually think it is great that there is a store geared towards people who just want to get out and play every so often rather than be the next Tiger Woods. After trying a few clubs, we said yes to the purchase and the associate carried the clubs up to the register (which has plastic protection due to COVID) and rung us up. Overall, Golf Galaxy's offerings and staff make this a good place to check out for golf equipment. read more

I've been a casual golfer for close to 50 years. I am also a horrible golfer -- which explains why I have never been more than a casual golfer. Indeed, I have never had a new set of golf clubs since my Dad, now well into his 80's and much more than a casual golfer, at least in his prime, has always given me sets that he cobbled together from his various assortment of clubs. So it was with almost complete ignorance that I undertook to buy my son a set of new clubs. I ventured into Golf Galaxy because it is close to my home and convenient. I was immediately pleased with the layout of the store, as it seemed to have a much wider selection of clubs than I had anticipated. It also offers golf accessories and a practice area so that clubs can be tried before purchased. Service was immediate, and the salesman who assisted us was friendly and knowledgeable, if a bit detached at times. Still, he spent 30 minutes with my son and me and made us feel good about our purchase of a starter set of clubs. He was not pushy but he also made sure we had the chance to buy all of the other accessories that we were likely to need. On the whole, it was a painless -- perhaps even pleasant -- shopping experience and I would certainly return to Golf Galaxy. So why then, one might ask, do I drop Golf Galaxy two stars? Simply put, I do not know enough to be able to tell anyone that Golf Galaxy is a 5 star experience or even that it is better than Edwin G. Watts, just down the road. Terrible experience here. I went in with a coupon for $20 off of a purchase of $100 or more. After trying on shoes for 20 minutes I was told the brand I was buying was excluded from the discount. The coupon does not say this anywhere in the fine print. Go to PGA SuperStore where they honor their coupons and they have a much better selection. read more

Awesome customer service. Very knowledgeable, friendly staff. Had a good variety of manufacturers and equipment. I wish they had more used stuff. I was looking for a used club to take to the pga show but didn't see what I was looking for. Nice store tho. Nice putting green. Good selection of clothes. Grips install poorly done. Twists and slides in hand. Generally a very simple thing to do. Will not refund my charge over the phone. Not worth driving back to shop an hour away for something that isn't that expensive. I just wouldn't trust them to do any other repairs at this point. See photos. read more

I very made lots of purchases from many different golf store over the last 15 years. Yesterday I went here to buy some golf balls. When the clerk was ringing me up, he opened the balls to make sure I didn't swap them for some different expensive balls. It didn't hit me till I got home when I tried to open the box. It wasn't easy to open. So for them checking the balls is basically another way of accusing me of stealing. Long story short I went back and returned everything and then went to Golf Smith by the mill indium mall... Guess what, golf smith to accuse their customers of stealing. I bought two boxes of golf balls and the clerk didn't even bother checking them. Guess whose getting my business now, it's not you golf galaxy. Another note, your employees working at the time wasn't that friendly either including the manager. read more

I have been to the shop on several occasions, and have found the service to be outstanding. The associates take the time to properly assess the proper club selection, matching the club to each individual's swing. They also have a great teaching program, where lessons are provided and videos recorded, so you can logon and review your progress from week to week. Unlike some of their competitors, the pricing is very reasonable. Michael Miller at the Turkey Lake Road store in Orlando does an outstanding job, and easily keys in on problem areas with your swing, and develops changes to improve your swing and your game.
